The Counselling and Outreach Coordinator role is key to SEL Mind's exciting new counselling service for Black residents of Southwark, delivered as part of the wider Southwark Wellbeing Hub. This full-time role will shape the Wellbeing Hub's provision to the Black community, expanding equitable access to culturally-appropriate support.
As Coordinator, you will provide initial clinical assessments to prospective service users and coordinate a small pool of Trainee Counsellors, expanding future access to Black-led counselling. You'll line manage an Administrator who is responsible for scheduling and other practical elements of the service. You'll also work closely in partnership with community organisations to ensure relevant, de-colonial approaches, including maintaining a delivery partnership with Black Psychotherapy.
The main working site is a community centre in SE5, and the community outreach work involves regular travel across the borough. You will play a vital role in building community trust, ensuring that we are creating routes into the service and continually seeking and implementing feedback.
We are seeking a qualified therapist who is passionate about improving Black people's access to early mental health support. Relationships and partnership working is vital, so you should be able to work independently but collaboratively, to be proactive and show initiative.
The role will involve:
- Undertaking skilled assessments of client needs and risks, taking into account the nature and complexity of presenting needs and suitability for short-term therapeutic work
- Recruiting and training volunteer Counsellors, ensuring trauma-informed work integrating spirituality and cultural values, using creative therapeutic modalities, and maintaining therapeutic relationships that honour diverse healing approaches
- Maintaining a live engagement strategy and actively reaching out with physical presence to grassroots organisations, faith groups, community centres, cultural associations, and spaces for people experiencing difficult situations including e.g. food banks and advice/advocacy organisations
- Contributing to the development and continuous improvement of the service, bringing recommendations to support the SWH's inclusivity and best practice
This role involves providing culturally specific support to Black clients. Applicants must be able to demonstrate lived experience of, and deep cultural understanding within, Black communities, and the ability to build trust with Black service users.

Age UK Lambeth and the MYcommunity Gateway team have partnered with Lambeth Adult Social Care in response to the redesign of their Initial Contact Service. Age UK Lambeth provides a busy, in-demand helpline to all new callers to Lambeth Adult Social Care. The helpline provides a triage service, dealing with enquiries, providing individuals the opportunity to discuss their issues and be provided with advice, information and guidance and potentially signposted to a range of services to provide them with support. Where appropriate, referrals are made to ASC for an assessment.
Call operation times will be Monday – Friday 9am to 5pm, excluding bank holidays.
The service works closely with Lambeth Adult Social Care and we have a base working alongside them at the Civic Centre in Brixton. Staff work hybridly, with the opportunity to work from home at least two days per week.

Role Purpose
The Head of Philanthropy is accountable for delivering significant philanthropic income for Justice & Care, including through personally secured major gifts, alongside building and leading a high-performing philanthropy function.
The postholder will design and execute the philanthropy strategy, hold and actively manage a portfolio of major donors and prospects, and personally secure five- and sixfigure gifts through direct relationship management and solicitation.

Global Scope

Main Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities include, but are not necessarily limited to:
1. Strategic Leadership and Income Delivery
- Lead the development and delivery of the philanthropy strategy, with a clear focuson generating major donor income in the UK and driving growth in the US and emerging markets
- Be accountable for achieving philanthropy income targets, including through personally secured major gifts, working closely with the Global Director of Fundraising
- Translate organisational priorities into fundable propositions and compelling donor opportunities

What the job involves
We’re looking for a Senior Evidence Officer to join our Data and Evidence team, who make sure our work is informed by the latest prostate cancer research. The team build and maintain our evidence base and turn complex findings into clear insight that helps drive change and improve outcomes for men.
As our Senior Evidence Officer, you’ll review and interpret clinical and scientific evidence on prostate cancer to inform Prostate Cancer UK’s positions and priorities. You’ll lead projects that ensure our strategic activity is underpinned by robust evidence, helping identify the health policy and clinical practice changes that will make the biggest difference for men.
You’ll analyse new and emerging research, making sure clinically effective advances are reflected in our strategic work. You’ll also design and lead in‑house research studies from start to finish, from developing objectives and writing protocols through to analysing and interpreting results, alongside carrying out evidence reviews to address gaps in knowledge.
Working closely with colleagues across the charity, you’ll contribute to horizon scanning so we stay informed about developments in research and clinical practice. You’ll support teams to use evidence accurately and confidently, work with policy and health influencing colleagues on technology appraisals and consultations such as NICE and SMC and respond quickly to evidence requests from across the organisation, including the media team.

What we want from you
We’re looking for a Senior Evidence Officer who enjoys working with evidence and using it to inform meaningful change. You’ll be confident critically appraising a wide range of evidence sources and drawing balanced conclusions about how that evidence should be used. You’ll be comfortable working with both qualitative and quantitative data, including interpreting statistical outputs from clinical trials and audits. You’ll likely have experience working at postgraduate level in health sciences, or equivalent practical experience gained through your career.
You’ll have experience designing and leading research or analysis projects that generate new evidence, and you’ll feel confident supporting others to develop sound research methods. You’ll also have a good understanding of how health services and systems work across the UK, including the data sources that support them.
You’ll be a clear and credible communicator, able to explain evidence in a way that lands with a wide range of audiences. You can move easily between writing technical research papers and creating accessible summaries for non‑specialist audiences, translating complex information into plain English. You’re comfortable working across teams, juggling different requests for evidence and responding accurately and on time.
Experience of conducting literature reviews, including rapid, semi‑systematic or full systematic reviews and broader evidence syntheses, would be a bonus.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Engagement Programme
- Plan, co-ordinate and deliver an engaging public programme of visitor led events, aimed at building new audiences and boosting our visitor numbers

Relationships
- Line management of the Cathedral Guides volunteer team, working with the Head Guide to ensure guides are kept up to date of Cathedral policy and are trained and delivering excellent customer service
- Work with the Verging and Property team to ensure events are coordinated and delivered to a high professional standard
Other
- Support the Head of Engagement to deliver large scale public events providing administrating and on the day delivery support

The Role
The Research Policy and Partnerships Officer monitors UK research policy and governance developments, synthesises evidence and supports preparation of clear internal briefings, policy statements and consultation responses.
Reporting to the Research Policy and Partnerships Manager, the role helps ensure the Association’s research portfolio and the Research Academy remain well aligned to national frameworks and governance standards, and that lived experience is appropriately reflected in system facing outputs.
The role also supports the Research Policy and Partnerships Manager in building and maintain partnerships with research funders, medical research charities, academic institutions and health system leaders.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Conduct structured horizon scanning across NIHR, UKRI, REF, AMRC guidance and other charity funders to identify opportunities.
- Maintain a stakeholder and policy activity map; coordinate inputs for meetings with key partners, funders/sector bodies.
- Collate and integrate lived experience evidence in policy work (with Involvement colleagues).
- Support partnerships with research funders, medical research charities, academic institutions and health system leaders, coordinating meetings, shared resources and monitoring commitments and agreements
About You
You will:
- Be educated to degree level in a science, health, social science or related discipline
- Have experience of collaborative working with senior internal and external stakeholders, supporting partnership building in research, clinical and/or voluntary sectors

Overall job purpose
The post-holder will play a key role within the Initiatives and Partnerships team, working with regional teams to develop and implement proposals to expand use of historic churches in our existing estate and, on occasion, working with other heritage and community groups to deliver their own projects via consultancy or partnership work.
They will manage a programme of work that will include a number of site-specific projects and national initiatives across multiple sites, as well as from time to time working with third parties on partnership or consultancy projects.
The Partnerships Officer will support regional teams and communities to scope and develop projects, supporting feasibility, options and project development work as well as business planning, project management and funding. The post-holder will also work closely with colleagues in conservation and regional teams to make sure that impacts on both areas are fully considered, whilst in tandem seeking to maximise opportunities to expand and increase commercial activity, income and ultimately profitability.

The aim of this work is to create a seamless and integrated physical health check service, which improves outcome targets and builds better rates of engagement within the BAME community.
The purpose of the BAME Community Advocate is to support the work of the Haringey GP Federation, which is commissioned to focused on improving the uptake of Physical Health Checks with people living with a SMI. The Community Advocate will enable a joined-up approach in identifying and coordinating patient care with local community groups and secondary care services. In addition, the community advocate is expected to manage the SMI registers for the Haringey Wellbeing Network and report to the Federation.
