We are recruiting for a Children and Young People’s Independent Sexual Violence Advocate (ChISVA) to support and empower young survivors of sexual violence and abuse.

The ChISVA will provide information, support, advice and advocacy to children and young people who have experienced sexual assault or sexual abuse in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. The post holder will deliver child-centred support to young survivors and non-abusing care givers around criminal justice processes, wellbeing, education and safety, while ensuring child protection procedures are followed at all times.

The post holder will work closely with other agencies such as Social Care, the Police, Education, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) and voluntary sector organisations to ensure that children and young people are kept safe and are well supported. About the role

As a Volunteer Manager, you will recruit, inspire, and support a team of dedicated volunteers, empowering them to deliver high-quality services and compassionate support to victims when they need it most, making a real different to the lives of people affected by crime.

We are looking for Sessional Workers to support Advance’s Criminal Justice Services. Advance’s Criminal Justice Services work with women involved in the Criminal Justice System offering safe, targeted support and advocacy to women to help them address their complex needs in relation to the 9 pathways to offending, such as substance misuse and financial difficulties, aiming to reduce re-offending, encourage desistance amongst repeat offenders, and empower women to live safe, crime free lives.

You will be working in a team of Community Keyworkers in your region. Each Keyworker will provide one to one community support to women with a variety of needs simultaneously and will be co-located with partner organisations in their region. You will be expected to travel to Advance’s Head office in London for any organisational meetings and training, as and when required.

Purpose of the Role

The Senior Court IDVA will provide safe, trauma-informed and person-centred support to victim-survivors involved in criminal and civil court processes across the Thames Valley. Alongside an agreed caseload, the post-holder will provide day-to-day practice leadership to the Court IDVA team, support consistent and high-quality casework, and deputise for the IDVA Service Manager in relation to court-service delivery when required.

The post-holder will help victim-survivors understand and navigate court processes, communicate their views and support needs, access protective measures and specialist services, and remain as safe as possible before, during and after proceedings. 

Key Responsibilities

1. Direct Support and Casework

• Hold an agreed caseload and provide timely, proactive and accessible support to victim-survivors of domestic abuse at all assessed risk levels who are involved in criminal or civil court proceedings.
• Complete and regularly review robust risk and needs assessments, safety plans and support plans, responding promptly to changes in risk, safeguarding concerns and court timetables.
• Explain court processes and the IDVA role clearly, managing expectations without providing legal advice.
• Support clients in relation to criminal proceedings, special measures, witness support, sentencing and post-court safety planning.
• Support clients in relation to civil protective orders, including non-molestation and occupation orders, and provide practical support where clients are making applications without legal representation, within RtR guidance and role boundaries.
• Where RtR is notified of a Domestic Violence Protection Notice or Order, seek to contact the victim-survivor safely before the court hearing wherever possible so that their views can be understood and shared through the appropriate process.
• Attend court hearings and liaise with court staff, police, Witness Care, the Crown Prosecution Service, legal representatives and other services to help secure coordinated and safe support.
• Advocate for the client’s safety, voice, rights and informed choices while maintaining professional boundaries and respecting their autonomy.
• Provide support and warm referrals to relevant specialist, legal, housing, health, safeguarding, recovery and community services. Where a client is already supported by another domestic abuse service, ensure relevant information is shared lawfully so that support can continue.
• Maintain safe contact before, during and after proceedings and agree an appropriate closure or transfer plan with the client and relevant services.

2. Senior Practice Leadership

• Provide accessible day-to-day advice, consultation and case guidance to Court IDVAs, escalating high-risk, complex or safeguarding matters to the IDVA Service Manager or Designated Safeguarding Lead as required.
• Support the allocation and review of referrals and caseloads so that risk, urgency, capacity, geography and court dates are considered consistently.
• Promote reflective, trauma-informed and evidence-based practice and support staff to maintain clear professional boundaries and manage the emotional impact of the work.
• Support induction, shadowing, mentoring and practice development for new and existing Court IDVAs, including progress towards relevant accreditation and competencies.
• Undertake case-file reviews, dip-sampling and other quality-assurance activity as agreed with the IDVA Service Manager, identifying learning and following through agreed actions.
• Lead or contribute to team discussions, case reviews and service-development activity, sharing learning from court practice, feedback, complaints, safeguarding matters and outcomes.
• Deputise for the IDVA Service Manager in agreed areas of operational court-service delivery during absence or as required; this does not include assuming responsibilities outside the post-holder’s competence or delegated authority.

3. Safeguarding, Risk and Information Management

• Recognise, assess and respond to safeguarding concerns affecting adults and children in accordance with legislation, local procedures and RtR policy.
• Contribute to MARAC and other multi-agency risk-management processes where relevant, ensuring that the client’s views and safety needs inform action planning.
• Keep accurate, timely and proportionate records on RtR’s case-management system, including contacts, risk assessments, safety plans, outcomes, consent and information-sharing decisions.
• Share information lawfully, safely and proportionately, applying confidentiality, data-protection and information-sharing requirements at all times.
• Follow lone-working, court safety, health and safety, incident-reporting and escalation procedures and support colleagues to do the same.

The Hepatitis C Trust (HCT) is the UK patient-led charity for hepatitis C. The arrival of highly effective drugs allows us to cure almost everyone who has access to them. We now have an unprecedented opportunity to eliminate hepatitis C by 2030.

We are looking for a passionate and skilled manager who has excellent communication and organisational skills. Working under the guidance of the Southern Regional Manager, you will oversee a staff team and an expanding network of peer programs across Kent. 

Experience of working with disadvantaged groups and an understanding of providing services to vulnerable people is essential, alongside an understanding of how lived experience can support this work.

Your work will involve maintaining and monitoring our existing HCT peer projects across Kent. This will involve providing support and supervision to existing staff, managing operational issues on a day-to-day basis and overseeing the management of local projects. 

This post also involves regular liaison with external partners across the region, including key stakeholders and NHS colleagues at the Kent Operational Delivery Network (ODN), alongside drug and alcohol services, hostels, outreach services etc.

Location: This job requires working between multiple locations: 

• 2 days per week working from Women's Hubs in Lambeth and Southwark
• 1 day per week working from the London Head Office (Kentish Town)

Job Purpose

To provide operational management of the Substance Misuse Through-the-Gate (SMTTG) programme, which supports Lambeth and Southwark women in custody and their transition back into the community.

1. Lead the operational management of the Substance Misuse TTG programme, ensuring high-quality, trauma-responsive support for women impacted by the criminal justice system

About the role

We’re looking for a new HR Lead to build on our existing policies and processes and take our inclusive, and high-performing culture to the next stage. As HR Lead, you will be integrated across the organisation, working at both strategic and operational levels to develop our people practices. Flexibility

Our London-based staff operate on a hybrid model, working from our office at London South Bank University (one minute from Elephant and Castle tube station) on Mondays and Tuesdays, with the remainder of the week worked from home. Full-time staff are expected to attend the office on both days, while part-time staff are required to attend on one of these days only. We also have staff based outside London who work fully remotely.

The HR Lead role is a two-day-per-week position. We would like the postholder to work from the London office on either Monday or Tuesday (or both days if preferred), with flexibility over when the remaining hours are worked, provided there is a consistent working pattern each week.

 Salary: £35,340 – £40,920 pro rata

Location: HMP Peterborough, HMP Bronzefield and our Hammersmith head office. During the week you will spend at least 3 days in face-to-face, in-person contact either in the Prison Estate, Hammersmith Head Office or external visits. Up to 2 days per week can be done remotely.

About the role:

As an experienced manager with a proven track record of leadership in providing services in prisons and possibly, to women in contact with the Criminal Justice System you will work collaboratively with other partner organisations, criminal justice services, Ministry of Justice and HMPPS. You will manage the prisons advocacy services and teams for unsentenced and sentenced women within the custodial settings at HMP Peterborough and HMP Bronzefield. You will have a great understanding of the prison systems and regime including some of the challenges faced.

You will build and maintain key relationships, partnerships and contracts with relevant partners and funders, together with the Head of Criminal Justice Services and Director of Criminal Justice Services. 

You will be an inspirational leader, responsible for recruiting, developing and managing a team and will be responsible for coordinating, reporting, and the delivery of the related services as commissioned by the Ministry of Justice. You will be accountable for managing your teams safely and securely whilst carrying out all activities within the prison setting.

A car may be desirable for this role, though not essential.

About You

To be successful as the Operational Manager for Prison Services you will need the below experience and skills:

• A thorough understanding of and knowledge of the issues relating to women in the criminal justice system.
• A sound knowledge of safeguarding adult and children principles, child abuse, child protection issues and safeguarding.
• Experience of working within a custodial setting.
• Significant experience of working with women and/or service users with a complex range of needs, particularly within the criminal justice system, in custody and/or community.
• Experience of developing relationships with funders/commissioners and achieving required outcomes.
• Experience of implementing quality assurance frameworks, monitoring, evaluating and measuring impact.
• Strong influencing skills, enthusiasm, self-confidence, excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills , and a can do proactive solution focussed approach.
• Strong negotiating skills and the ability to build strong and effective relationships and partnerships, dealing with ambiguity and resolving conflict effectively, achieving the right outcomes for the organisation, collaborating and networking.
• Able to think, act and plan strategically to develop practical and creative solutions to the management of existing and new services and complex problems that may arise while maintaining high levels of diplomacy and professionalism.
