About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in an important period of development and transformation for West London Synagogue.
Working closely with the executive team, the postholder will provide coordination and project management across a range of organisational priorities and will play a key role in supporting the delivery of the wider transformation programme.

Key Responsibilities
1. Transformation and Organisational Priorities
- Play a key role in coordinating and supporting the organisation's transformation programme.

2. Project Management

4. Board and Senior Leadership Reporting
- Coordinate the preparation of clear, concise and meaningful reports for the Board.

6. Stakeholder Engagement and Coordination

The Culture and Operations Director (COD) ensures Frontline is a high-performing, well-governed charity with a strong culture of freedom and responsibility - a place people can do their best work to achieve Frontline’s mission.
They have strategic responsibility for charity-wide planning to ensure Frontline’s operational functions, effectively support teams to navigate challenges whilst maximising new opportunities. The successful candidate will join Frontline at a pivotal moment and play a key role in driving the next exciting step of our growth.
The COD will ensure high-quality operational support is available to all teams. Working closely with Frontline’s Leadership Group (Heads and Directors), to make sure that the appropriate and timely information, tools and guidance (e.g. HR, IT and finance) are available to managers and teams as needed. This includes working alongside other members of SLT, to:
- Confidently support Frontline through a period of growth and structural change

The Finance and Operations Officer is responsible for day-to-day financial processing, HR administration and operational coordination. The role ensures accurate financial records, smooth administrative processes and effective support for staff across the Society. The Finance and Operations Officer liaises with all areas of the Society and helps provide reports and documentation to the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee and Council. They are line managed by the Finance Manager.
Main Responsibilities
Financial Processing
- Process purchase invoices, staff expenses, credit card transactions and supplier payments.
- Manage Society credit cards and bank accounts under the oversight of the Finance Manager.
- Deposit payments (sterling and dollars) and maintain accurate financial records.
- Prepare payment runs and upload payment files in line with dual authorisation procedures.

Membership & Programmes Officer
The Political Studies Association (PSA) exists to develop and promote the study and teaching of politics and related disciplines. Founded in 1950, we are the leading association in our field in the United Kingdom, with an international membership that includes academics in political science, theorists and practitioners, policymakers, researchers, and students in higher education, as well as members from the school community.

Location
PSA offices in Camden, London. The PSA works on a hybrid basis and supports remote working; post-holders are normally required in the office one day a week (on Wednesdays).
Job purpose
The PSA is a membership body with over 1000 members. The Membership & Programmes Officer is a key and multi-faceted role within in a small but dynamic team.
You will be responsibe for overseeing all aspects of the PSA membership. This will include communicating with current and prospective members, encouraging them to take up the full range of membership benefits and to participate in association activities so that they enjoy a high-quality member experience. Your role includes three core areas outlined below. These are three distinct but interlinked areas of responsibility which will involve working with/alongside other members of the team, and which will be guided by the direction of the Membership, Events & Programmes Manager.
Main responsibilities
Membership
1. The principal contact for all membership services
- As principal membership officer, you will be responsible for dealing with current and prospective members: managing membership registrations, renewals, queries re payments and general membership enquiries. This will include responding to communications from members and non-members within 48 hours of receipt
- You will be responsible for updating and managing the membership database (Oomi); producing membership data, and troubleshooting any joining/renewing issues for members
- You will be responsible for ensuring a successful member journey throughout sign-up, engagement, and renewals. Understanding, and reviewing, the member journey across our different platforms to ensure a smooth and consistent process is achieved
- You will be responsible for creating and sending the monthly membership e-newsletter (using our mailing platform, Brevo)
- You will be responsible for collating and reconciling membership data, including data cleansing and other tasks as advised by the Head of Membership, Events & Communications or the Head of Operations & Finance
- You will work closely with the PSA Finance Officer to ensure all processes for receiving membership subscriptions are effective and accurate, including online membership payments by credit card and Direct Debits
- Working closely with other members of the team to ensure that members understand and receive their member benefits, and to support and implement any membership changes/developments that may be agreed by the Executive Committee
Specialist Groups and Networks
2. To support our specialist groups and member networks
- The PSA currently has 48 unique specialist groups that represent key subject/policy areas within political studies. The PSA also has two member networks dedicated to Early Career academics and those engaged in Teaching and Learning. As Membership & Programmes Officer you will be the primary contact for specialist groups, and will be responsible for:
- Managing the specialist groups inbox and ensuring queries are responded to in a timely manner, and consulting with colleagues on queries/actions where necessary
- Supporting specialist groups with their PSA website pages and access to their CRM database portal, in line with the guidelines provided, and creating/updating guidelines where necessary.
- Supporting the creation of new specialist groups, briefing group convenors ensuring they have the guidance and support needed to fulfil their role
- Supporting the Teaching and Learning, and Early Career networks by assisting with network communications, newsletters and network data where/when necessary. The networks are overseen by the Membership, Events & Programmes Manager
PSA Programmes
3. To support PSA annual programmes which include the PSA annual international conference, PSA prizes and other member-orientated activities throughout the year.
- Each year the PSA awards a number of prestigous prizes to PSA members by way of recognising and rewarding excellence and impact across Political Studies. You will be responsible for supporting the Membership, Events & Programmes Manager with delivery of the PSA’s prizes, including collating submissions and and producing prize winners’ certificates
- You may be asked to support other longstanding PSA programme initiatives such as the House of Commons Internship opportunity, Teachers CPD event at Parliament and the PSA Student Blogs competition
- Supporting other programmes to develop membership benefits and growth, such as schools/teachers innitiatives as/when required
The PSA Annual Conference
- The PSA organises and delivers a large scale international academic conference, which usually attracts 800 – 1000 delegates. The next annual conference will be taking place at the University of Hull from 22 – 24 March 2027. Because of the scale of this event, and the size of the team, all members are expected to be involved in aspects of confrence planning and delivery, including attending the event itself.
Specific tasks regarding the PSA Annual Conference may include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting the annual conference, which can include: responding to delegate enquiries, sharing information with delegates, reconciling accepted presenters and registrations, assisting with exhibitor communications, producing relevant data, assisting with venue planning and logistics and playing a key role within the team on-site for the three day conference
- Supporting colleagues with communications to specialist groups regarding their role at annual conference, particularly around their proposed AGMs
- Overseeing delegate badges – collating data and liaising with suppliers and courriers. Supporting conference registration and checking registration data, particularly in relation to membersip discounts
- Assisting with the production of online conference information and the delegate guide
Other duties and responsibilities:

All members of staff are required to be professional, co-operative and flexible in line with the needs of the post and the organisation

Structure: there are seven members of staff under the leadership of the CEO. This post sits under the Head of Membership, Events & Communications and is line managed by the Membership, Events & Programmes Manager. The PSA’s office is in Camden, London. Whilst Team members predominantly work from home, they are expected to work in the office one day a week (usually Wednesday).
Additional information: there is some requirement to work outside normal office hours on occasion to attend various PSA events and to travel within the UK.
Terms of Employment
1. The starting salary will be £32,000.
2. 37.5 hour working week (normally 9:30 – 5:30 (including 30-minute unpaid lunch break); willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends with no overtime payments but the flexibility to claim time off in lieu.
3. 25 days annual leave, plus bank holidays.
4. Employer contribution to pension (10% for employee contribution of 5% of salary) following probation.

School of Hard Knocks (SOHK) is one of the UK’s leading education charities, working in 29 secondary schools across England, Scotland, and Wales. Using rugby as a key delivery tool, we support young people who are struggling to engage in early secondary education - often because of anxiety, low confidence, disrupted home lives, or behavioural challenges rooted in trauma. For many of the children we support, life has already brought more hardship than most adults experience in a lifetime. The SOHK Schools Programme is a two-year intervention working with cohorts of around 20 pupils from Year 7 through to Year 9. Pupils are selected by the school and are typically among the hardest to reach young people. Each week, we deliver half a day of rugby training and classroom sessions built around our 3Cs framework, covering topics such as growth mindset, goal setting, and decision-making, alongside monthly one-to-one sessions with every pupil. About the role
This is a new senior role at WSC, with responsibility for developing and delivering our fundraising strategy and building the systems, relationships and income streams needed to support the organisation's next stage of growth.
The Fundraising Manager will take day-to-day ownership of WSC's fundraising function and pipeline, leading opportunities from prospect research and assessment through application, award, grant management and renewal. They will combine hands-on fundraising delivery with strategic leadership, developing income from trusts and foundations, statutory funders, corporate partners, major donors and other appropriate sources.
You will work closely with the Executive Director who retains strategic oversight and final approval of fundraising applications and commitments, while taking day-to-day ownership of fundraising activity and the pipeline.
This is an opportunity for an experienced fundraiser to shape WSC’s fundraising at an exciting stage of organisational development, whilst contributing directly to our work to challenge labour exploitation and promote decent work.
The postholder will be responsible for delivering an agreed annual fundraising target and for building a balanced pipeline of prospective trusts, foundations, statutory funders, corporate partners and individual supporters. In the first 12–18 months, a key priority will be to strengthen WSC's fundraising infrastructure, increase the diversity and predictability of income, and develop a sustainable pipeline aligned with our strategic priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising strategy and leadership
● Develop, implement and review of a Fundraising Strategy and delivery plan for WSC to achieve required income targets across fundraising disciplines together with the Executive Director aligned with our overall Strategic Plan.
● Set and monitor fundraising objectives, income targets and KPIs reporting quarterly to the Executive Director and Board on progress, opportunities and risks.
● Develop and maintain WSC’s prospect map identifying priority funders and prospects and setting clear cultivation strategies and next steps for each.
● Develop WSC’s major donor pipeline including compelling cases for support, and cultivation plan for priority prospects.
● Advise the Executive Director and Board on fundraising opportunities, income diversification, funding risk and the implications of changes in the funding environment.
● Lead on management and renewal of WSC’s existing grants portfolio ensuring income is sustained and relationships are developed strategically.

● Research, identify, cultivate and secure funding from trusts, foundations, statutory sources, corporate partners, major donors and individual donors and other appropriate income sources.
● Own and manage WSC's fundraising pipeline, ensuring opportunities are appropriately researched, assessed, prioritised, progressed and recorded from prospect through to renewal.
● Lead the end-to-end development of funding applications, coordinating input from programme, finance, communications and other colleagues and ensuring applications are compelling, accurate and submitted on time.
● Maintain accurate pipeline data and income forecasts, using these to identify funding gaps, opportunities and risks and to inform organisational planning.
● Monitor the wider fundraising environment and identify emerging opportunities, risks and trends relevant to WSC.

Grant Management and Renewal
· Maintain an overview of WSC's active grants, including reporting requirements, key commitments, deadlines and renewal opportunities.

· Lead the preparation and submission of narrative funder reports, working with the programme and finance colleagues to evidence progress, outcomes and impact.

● Work closely with the Finance Officer to develop realistic application budgets, monitor grant income and expenditure and ensure financial information provided to funders is accurate and consistent.

Line management, collaboration and worker-led fundraising
· Recruit, line manage and support future fundraising staff as the charity grows, providing clear direction, regular supervision, constructive feedback and opportunities for professional development.

Robertson Bell is exclusively partnering with Barnardo's to recruit a Group Financial Controller on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a significant senior finance leadership opportunity to join a complex and well-established organisation at an important point in its development, leading a large finance team and driving transformation across processes and systems.
Following changes to the Finance leadership structure, the Group Financial Controller will provide additional senior leadership capacity during a period of significant organisational development and change. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will act as a senior operational deputy, providing leadership across financial control, finance operations, treasury management, finance systems, finance transformation and legacy operations. You will lead a team of up to 7 directly, with up to 60 indirect reports, and will play a key role in strengthening financial governance, operational performance and service delivery.
Barnardo's is a leading UK charity working to support children, young people and families. Its Finance function is strengthening to support the organisation's strategy through financial stewardship, operational excellence and transformation, with a focus on improving processes and controls, modernising systems and reporting, embedding digital solutions and developing organisational capability.
The key duties of the Group Financial Controller are:
- Act as the senior operational deputy to the CFO, representing Finance at senior management meetings and providing senior leadership across the function.
- Lead key Finance transformation priorities, driving significant improvements across systems, processes, data and organisational capability.
- Act as senior sponsor for Finance systems development and optimisation, ensuring technology investments deliver measurable benefits and are accompanied by genuine process change.
- Champion automation, digital enablement and AI opportunities to reduce manual activity, strengthen controls and improve the Finance user experience.
- Support wider organisational change initiatives, ensuring Finance structures, systems and resources are aligned to future requirements.
- Provide visible and effective leadership across a large Finance function, promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement and high performance.
- Provide leadership and oversight across statutory reporting, taxation, audit, technical accounting and group consolidation, maintaining strong financial governance and control.
- Oversee finance operations including transaction processing, income management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, Gift Aid and related services, driving operational excellence and improved service standards.
- Oversee treasury activities, including cash, liquidity and investments, while strengthening processes, systems and internal capability.
The successful candidate will have:
- Significant post-qualification experience in a senior finance leadership position (E), ideally operating at or close to Finance Director, Deputy CFO, Group Financial Controller or equivalent level.
- Experience leading financial control and finance operations within a large, complex organisation (E), with previous charity experience highly desirable.
- A fully qualified accountancy qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent (E),
- Strong technical accounting experience, including statutory reporting, audit management, taxation, financial governance and controls.
- A proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams, with the ability to coach and support permanent team members.
- Demonstrable experience delivering organisational change, service improvement and finance transformation programmes across people, processes and systems (E).
- Experience working effectively with senior stakeholders, including executive and board reporting.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly to senior audiences (E).
- A pragmatic, resilient, collaborative and emotionally intelligent approach, with the ability to build trust quickly and integrate effectively into an established team
- A proactive and solutions-focused mindset, with the ability to challenge constructively, identify opportunities for improvement and deliver against complex priorities.
This is a 12-month fixed-term opportunity paying up to £92,892 per annum and will be largely home-based with occasional days in the London office.

About the role

A relevant Level 5 qualification or degree would be welcomed, but we also value equivalent knowledge and experience.
