You will benefit from an interest in housing and must be able to work with Parish Councils, Housing Associations and Local Housing & Planning Authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Support, advise and steer communities, and town and parish councillors from their initial interest in providing affordable housing, through scheme inception and pre-development phases to completion, with the aim of increasing the speed of schemes through the pre-development phase.
• Assist communities to identify the nature and extent of affordable local housing need in their community including, where appropriate, through a Housing Needs Survey.
• Assist communities to identify a deliverable site for development of affordable housing and/or secure affordable housing as part of market led schemes.
• Build collaborative partnerships with key partners to provide a clear pathway to a successful planning application and delivery. Partners may include, but are not limited to, local communities, parish councils, housing association staff, officers from the Local Authorities (including in their role as providers of affordable housing) and local developers.
• Provide project management including regular reporting on project progress against workplan and housing pipeline.

Key requirements

• Experience of building and sustaining relationships within and across organisations and sectors, and working collaboratively.
• A highly capable communicator in person and in writing. Able to engage the public, local politicians, and officials on their own terms, whilst remaining independent and trusted.
• Experience delivering research, strategic assessment & planning, data analysis, and evaluation reports.
• Excellent organisational, planning and management skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Agile and proactive in approach to challenges and opportunities.
• Able to work under pressure, multi-task and meet strict deadlines.
• Competent user of databases and the Microsoft suite of software.

About the role

The Finance Business Partner will play a critical role in delivering regular financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting in our Commerce & Enterprise and Policy & Social Change functions.  Approximately 75% of this role partners with Commerce & Enterprise colleagues and 25% with colleagues managing Policy & Social Change.  This role will provide insight and analysis, adhering to processes, controls, and ways of working that effectively support our Finance function and support stakeholders’ needs.  It will also require some collaboration with our Transformation Leads who are leading on the implementation of a new finance system (xLedger).

Support and Information Officer

We are looking for a Mentor Services Coordinator to support our volunteer mentors in the South East of England consisting of Hertfordshire, Surrey, North London and West London.

Our Mentor Services Coordinators are the main point of contact for volunteer mentors throughout their journey with MCR - from their initial enquiry and onboarding, to ongoing support once they are matched with a young person. About the role

Due to an expansion in our work to provide training and e-learning to raise awareness of unpaid carers and of the issues and challenges they face with a range of professionals, we are excited to recruit a Training and Learning Officer to lead our work in this area. The post holder will develop, maintain and deliver a suite of e-learning, and in person and online training.

About you

You’ll have knowledge and experience of designing, developing and delivering training. You’ll be experienced in conducting research and analysing data with an understanding of the issues impacting carers, and the systems in which they operate. You’ll be a strong communicator and be able to balance a diverse range of projects.

About the role

This is an exciting new post; with oversight of Carers Wales information and advice service, training and learning offer, and Employers for Carers support.  Find out more about Employers for Carers Wales on our website. 

As part of a small and busy team, the post holder will be required from time to time to support with delivery of these services, as well as playing a key role in their strategic development.

About you

We are looking for someone with a background in service delivery; with experience of providing information and advice, and designing and delivering training and learning. 

The ideal post holder will be equally comfortable planning strategically and rolling up their sleeves to deliver. This means we need someone who is a great communicator with excellent leadership skills who can also turn their hand to managing budgets and client accounts, helping us to plan the future development of our services offer.  

You’ll be fluent in Welsh including in written correspondence with a solid understanding of carers and the issues and challenges they face.
