We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Business Manager to provide strategic and operational leadership across finance, HR, property management, compliance, and administration.

This is a pivotal role within ORL, working closely with the Chief Executive Officer to ensure the organisation is financially sustainable, compliant, and well-run, and that our properties and systems support the delivery of safe, high-quality services for residents, staff, volunteers, and visitors. 

Your responsibilities will include overseeing financial operations such as payroll, pensions, Gift Aid claims, and bank reconciliations, as well as supporting the preparation of financial reports and budgets. You will manage HR administration, including recruitment, onboarding, policy development, and employee wellbeing. In addition, you will ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, carry out risk assessments, and oversee property management, lease agreements, and insurance.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in finance and HR management, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to lead and motivate staff. You’ll be confident in handling budgets, compliance requirements, and operational systems, with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Experience working in the charity or not-for-profit sector would be an advantage.

The Administrator will play a key role in supporting the smooth and efficient running of the NVN’s operations. Working closely with the General Manager, they will manage day-to-day administration, membership communications, events logistics, and financial record-keeping.

Key Responsibilities: 

Administration and Coordination

- Support the General Manager with the day-to-day coordination of the NVN’s activities.

- Maintain accurate records, files, and databases (including membership and financial information).

- Prepare and circulate agendas, papers, and minutes for Trustee Board and working group meetings in collaboration with the chair and general manager.

- Track progress on agreed actions and support efficient follow-up.

- Support the General Manager to manage and promote funding applications from the membership, such as the ARCH Levy Fund, bursary applications and the Event Subsidy Fund.

Membership and Communications

- Respond to member and public enquiries in a timely and professional manner.

- Manage membership renewals and maintain the membership database.

- Create and distribute newsletters.

- Maintain our social media presence and website content.

- Store NVN songbooks and send out when purchased.

- Assist with the organisation and delivery of NVN events, training, and gatherings (online and in person).

Finance and Record-Keeping

- Support basic financial administration including invoicing, payments, and expense tracking.

We are looking for a permanent and full-time member of staff to help develop and communicate RSTMH’s role within tropical medicine and global health. We need a passionate and creative communicator who can play a key role in meeting our communications objectives. This role is office-based in central London, with the option to work from home on Mondays.

RSTMH is a membership society formed in 1907, with around 1,800 members and Fellows in over 100 countries. We work to improve tropical medicine and global health by enabling and promoting research, sharing knowledge and convening networks through our members and Fellows and beyond. The Communications Manager will have the opportunity to develop and enhance RSTMH’s reputation as a credible and trusted voice in tropical medicine and global health.

This is a wide-ranging and exciting role. You will lead on implementing the organisation’s communications strategy, working with the leadership team to ensure it meets the aims of the wider RSTMH strategy. You’ll maintain and further develop the website and social media platforms, build links with media contacts, and source, commission and develop content. You’ll manage relationships with key suppliers, including website developers, strategic partners, digital media and creative agencies. You’ll also be responsible for delivering RSTMH’s newsletters to our members and Fellows, and global network of supporters.

THE ROLE

• Implement RSTMH’s communications strategy, in line with the wider organisational goals – developing short- and long-term strategic plans
• Develop communication plans for all areas of RSTMH, working with department managers to execute
• Full ownership of the website, including content updating and monitoring for consistency and currency, managing any development work and integration with other systems
• Manage social media channels for RSTMH, and develop strategies to engage wider networks
• Accountable for our joint venture website, grow: including developing a strategy for updating and maintaining the listings and income generation through advertising and/or sponsored posts

Essential experience

• 5 years’ experience within a digital communication role
• 3 years’ experience developing and maintaining websites and social media for a campaign, cause or organisation
• Proven experience working in an editorial capacity, developing compelling copy for online audiences, with a varied portfolio of written work
• Experience of digital content creation, commissioning and management
• Proficiency in HTML newsletter creation, working to tight deadlines, collaborating with other departments, and using mail clients

The Deputy Service Manager will play a central role in the day-to-day leadership and development of Barnsley Street Project, a co-located pilot service operating with East London Foundation Trust (ELFT - NHS) and the Third Sector Mental Health Alliance partners. The service provides six hospitality beds for short-term stays and a drop-in service operating 8am-8pm for anybody in the community needing support with their mental health. This role is designed for a reflective, values-led manager who is comfortable working without fixed templates, and who can hold clinical, ethical, and organisational complexity.
Barnsley Street is intentionally experimental. It seeks to move away from coercive, compliance-driven models of mental health support and instead develop humane, relational, psychologically informed ways of working that prioritise choice, collaboration, dignity and proportionality in risk management. The Deputy Service Manager will work closely with the Service Manager to build, test and refine new processes in real time, while maintaining accountability, safety, and learning.
The post holder will provide operational leadership, line management and practice leadership to frontline staff. They will deputise for the Service Manager when required and act as a key interface between Look Ahead, ELFT and Third Sector colleagues, commissioners, and wider system partners.
Working pattern is 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday, with some flexibility to support the supervision of Waking Night Support Workers.

Working closely with the Joint Head of Legal Services and Executive Director, and in collaboration with other colleagues, you will supervise the delivery of high-quality legal advice and representation, supporting the growth of legal aid practice whilst ensuring Release continues to train and develop social justice lawyers for the future. 

We are looking for an experienced legal aid practitioner who is strongly committed to social justice and the legal rights of marginalised communities, and who wants to build leadership experience in a movement-led organisation. The role will combine hands-on practice, leadership, supervision and compliance responsibilities. 

Please note: We do not expect the postholder to generate legal aid income at a multiple of their salary. While we do aim to grow legal aid income across the team to an initial target of £15,000–£25,000 per annum, the focus of this role is on developing high‑quality legal aid practice and building sustainable income collectively, as part of a mixed‑income organisational model.

As Supervising Solicitor – Legal Aid, you will:

• Support Strategic Development: Contribute to developing the direction and priorities of Release’s legal services, including expanding legal aid work and strengthening access to justice.

• Provide Practice Supervision: Support a multidisciplinary team of solicitors, legal advisers and volunteers to deliver excellent, trauma-informed legal support. Support and mentor team members on how to adhere to legal aid file compliance, time recording and CCMS applications.

• Ensure Quality and Compliance: Help ensure consistent regulatory compliance and quality assurance across legal casework, including legal aid requirements.

• Strengthen and Grow Services: Help develop and improve legal service delivery models, including responding to emerging needs and client priorities.

• Contribute to Systemic Change: Support Release’s wider mission by helping connect legal services with policy, research, and advocacy work.

This role is ideal for someone with legal aid expertise and management potential, who wants to take a meaningful step into leadership whilst continuing to centre client care, justice and harm reduction.

We are seeking a talented individual to join our ambitious team, championing the wellbeing of the young patients, families and staff through a high-quality programme of visual arts, music, performance and cultural activity at Bristol Children’s Hospital and St Michael’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. You will be an excellent communicator, able to build trusted working relationships across the hospital, particularly with the Play team and Hospital School, alongside clinical and non-clinical colleagues, to ensure the effective planning and delivery of The Grand Appeal’s annual arts programme.
