That’s where this role comes in. We’re looking for a Senior Learning & Development (L&D) Advisor to join our Learning and Engagement team on a maternity cover. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced L&D professional who loves designing great learning experiences, partnering with managers, and helping organisations live their values through meaningful development.
This is a hands-on, influential role sitting in our Learning and Engagement team within the People and Organisational Development Directorate. You’ll work with colleagues across the charity to shape learning at both an individual and organisational level.
You’ll design and deliver engaging learning experiences (online and in person), support managers and leaders through coaching and action learning, and project manage organisation-wide learning and culture initiatives. You’ll also play a key role in embedding our Values and Behaviours framework, ensuring it’s actively used, not just talked about.
A big part of the role is working collaboratively with HR colleagues, internal stakeholders, coaches and facilitators, to identify needs, design the right solutions, and make sure learning activity has real impact.
You’ll be an experienced L&D professional who enjoys both strategic thinking and practical delivery who can confidently design and deliver engaging, inclusive learning across leadership, management and personal development. JOB PURPOSE
UK for UNHCR is looking for an ambitious and proactive fundraiser to work in a Senior Philanthropy Officer role for up to one year’s maternity cover. This role will manage its own portfolio of low to mid-level trusts and foundations and will play a key role in supporting the Senior Trusts & Foundations Manager on the engagement and stewardship of our high-level partnerships, as well as supporting on the delivery of a high-quality supporter experience.
You will be joining the charity at an exciting moment, becoming part of a small but high performing team with big ambitions. This role is integral to the development of our Trusts and Foundations Programme.
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and determined and who enjoys working collaboratively within and across teams, building relationships and inspiring people to support UNHCR’s lifesaving work. You’ll have strong problem solving and communication skills, both written and oral. You’ll be passionate about the refugee cause and UK for UNHCR’s role in supporting refugees around the globe.
Working with our international colleagues, this role will gather information for reports, donor communications and proposals on UNHCR’s key areas of work.
This role will also work across the team to support on growing the trusts and foundations pipeline, through identifying and then building relationships with trusts and foundations aligned with our cause.

Role Responsibilities
- Work as part of the Private Partnerships and Philanthropy Team (PPH) to develop new opportunities with trusts and foundations in line with UK for UNHCR’s fundraising strategy. This will include supporting and leading initiatives to approach potential supporters.
- Support the development and management of a robust trusts & foundations pipeline and a calendar of opportunities for grant submissions to trusts and foundations.
- Undertake detailed prospect research and identify the most appropriate funding and fundraising opportunities for trusts and foundations.
- Support the development of high-quality concept notes, proposals, reports, and other fundraising products.
- Ensure current partners are stewarded to a high standard
- Support, and at times lead, on cultivation and stewardship events across the PPH team. This could be anything from a webinar to an in-person event for 50+ people.
- Support and lead on the development and execution of strong cultivation and stewardship plans, taking responsibility for keeping these updated and reviewed.
- Help establish an appropriate strategic and tactical response to trust and foundation prospects and supporters in the event of humanitarian emergencies.
- Maintain the Salesforce database with up-to-date and accurate information on trust and foundation prospects and partners.
- Help to raise awareness of, and build vital support for, UK for UNHCR’s unique position to protect refugees and displaced people.
- Work within UK for UNHCR’s due diligence and GDPR policies and processes.
- Ensure accurate income recording and earmarking procedures to facilitate financial reporting.

Reporting Directly to the CEO you will engage with teams and partners to design both an on-going influencing strategy and the future shape of this work in coming years.

ROLE OVERVIEW
From honing our campaign strategy to sparking collaborations with external organisations and delivering creative and engaging content, you’ll be a key player in shaping how RLSS UK and our work are seen by the public and partners.
You will lead the development and delivery of impactful, insight-driven campaigns that increase public awareness of both RLSS UK and the importance of water safety, share the skills and knowledge needed to prevent drowning, and engage and educate diverse audiences to amplify RLSS UK’s mission. Working closely with colleagues across marketing and communications, policy and public affairs, education, and membership, you will create compelling campaigns that inspire action, strengthen our brand presence, and educate.
You will collaborate with partners, members, stakeholders, supporters, and media outlets to ensure RLSS UK remains a trusted national voice in water safety. Through strategic storytelling, public mobilisation, and cross-channel campaign delivery, your work will help influence behaviours, shape understanding, and ultimately reduce accidental drownings.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Campaign Leadership
- Lead, develop, and deliver RLSS UK’s major national public campaigns, including:
- Drowning Prevention Week
- Don’t Drink and Drown
- Splash Safely at Home
- Project manage the end-to-end‑ delivery of multichannel campaigns (digital, print, PR, in-person events,‑ and partner channels).
- Ensure all campaigns are insight-led, supported by relevant data and evidence, designed to be inclusive and accessible, and effectively reach audiences at higher risk of drowning.
- Support public-facing communications for policy and public affairs, including web, email, and social channels.
- Contribute to organisation-wide planning, ensuring campaigns support fundraising, education, and membership goals where appropriate.
- Develop end‑to‑end campaign journeys for supporters, partners, and stakeholders who engage with or pledge support, to deepen involvement, encourage advocacy, and maximise long‑term impact.
- Work proactively across internal directorates to co‑create and deliver campaigns that maximise reach, effectiveness, and impact.
- Conduct audience and stakeholder mapping for each campaign to identify priority groups, collaboration opportunities, and the most effective channels, partners, and messengers to maximise reach and impact.

Creative Development & Content

- Lead creative development, case study sourcing, storytelling, celebrity/influencer engagement, and campaign assets.
- Drive user‑generated content as a core engagement strategy, encouraging partners, members, and the RLSS UK community to share stories, visuals, and experiences that support campaign objectives.
Partnerships & Collaboration
- Build strong partnerships with communities and organisations, including emergency services, sports bodies, youth groups, and local authorities, to amplify campaign reach and impact.
- Support the participation of people with lived experience in campaigns, including bereaved families, with care and tact, ensuring authentic and meaningful involvement.
- Proactively identify and develop new partnerships, influencer and celebrity relationships to expand the reach, engagement and impact of each major campaign.
Delivery & Campaign Operations
- Oversee campaign production schedules, asset development, and delivery across all channels.
- Maintain campaign budgets and align spending with goals.
- Develop and maintain campaign‑specific brand guidance to support consistent use of RLSS UK messaging, tone of voice, and visual identity across all channels and audiences.
- Create and manage campaign packs for partners that set clear requirements for the correct use of the RLSS UK name, assets, messaging, and attribution, ensuring consistent representation across all partner activity.
- Ensure all campaign activity is consistent with RLSS UK brand guidelines, inclusive and accessible, on-brand, compliant, and aligned with RLSS UK’s strategic priorities.
- Ensure all campaign materials are reviewed and approved in line with RLSS UK brand governance processes prior to public launch.
Evaluation & Reporting
- Set clear campaign KPIs and monitor performance using robust, insight-driven metrics.
- Provide regular reporting on campaign reach, engagement, outcomes, and contribution to reducing drowning risk.
- Complete post‑campaign evaluations within agreed timeframes, identifying clear, actionable recommendations to inform continuous improvement across future campaigns.
- Use campaign evaluations, performance data, and insight to drive measurable year‑on‑year improvement in campaign outcomes, applying learning consistently to improve reach, engagement, and impact.

The role:
We are looking for a dedicated Trusts & Foundations Manager to join our Development team on a fixed-term basis. Working closely with the Head of Trusts and Foundations and a fellow part-time Trusts and Foundations Manager, you’ll play a key role in identifying projects, exploring suitable funders, and writing funding applications to ultimately maximise grants from Trusts and Foundations.
Working in collaboration with the Director of Development and the Head of Trusts and Foundations, you will have the opportunity to be a part of the strategic shift to dramatically increase this funding stream over the next five years through better articulation of our long-term ambitions alongside compelling monitoring and evaluation data to secure sustainable middle-to-large-scale, multi-year funding.
The skills:
- Experience contributing to Trusts and Foundations fundraising, including securing four and five figure grants, preferably within the arts, culture, or higher education sectors.
- Knowledge of Trusts, Foundations, and other grant-making bodies, and how to engage effectively with them.
- Proven experience of developing effective and successful funding applications.
- Experience of researching new funders and supporting the development of sustainable funding relationships.
- Experience using a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system within a fundraising or Development context (we use Tessitura).
- Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues, partners, and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to support shared fundraising goals.
- A creative and flexible approach, with the ability to adapt and work effectively in a changing environment.
- Proven ability to deliver excellent funder stewardship and donor care.

Overall purpose of the role

Skills and experience required

- A minimum of three years experience in facilities, building services, and health & safety management.
- Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams, ideally within a healthcare setting.
- Previous responsibility for fire safety, risk assessments, policies, and audits within a healthcare environment (preferred),
- Comprehensive understanding of health and safety standards, infection control protocols, facilities contracts and budget management. Must stay up to date with current legislation.
- Proficiency in MS Office 365.

About you
Do you want to use your skills to make it possible for people with myeloma to live longer and better lives? We are looking for a Peer Service Co-ordinator who will facilitate the delivery of our Peer Service and collaborate on the future development and improvements of the service.
You will have experience of recruiting, training, and supervising staff or volunteers. Experience working with a diverse range of communities would be an advantage as we are looking to increase our reach. The role holder will have an understanding of the challenges that may arise from delivering digital/telephone support and the ability to understand and meet training and development needs of volunteers.

Experience of facilitating peer support services, with a focus on volunteer/user involvement in service delivery would be an advantage but not essential.
About the role
The Peer Service Co-ordinator will facilitate and develop the Peer Service, a tailored support service utilising volunteers to provide peer support both in and out of standard office hours.
The postholder will be expected to train and develop the volunteers who support the Peer Buddy service, make suggestions for improvements and recruit and train new volunteers to increase the diversity of the volunteer pool. You will support in delivering ongoing improvements and further service development to enhance the offerings of the peer service while working with the Peer Service Lead to ensure possible risks have been identified, assessed and effective risk management strategies have been put in place.
You will need to develop and maintain a good understanding of myeloma and its’ related conditions, including patient need, and develop and evaluate the service in line with this.
This role will be part of the team responsible for running this service and provide supervision and training to volunteers. They will be expected to adhere to safeguarding principles and good governance.
