About this role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing Philanthropy Team in a brand-new role that will play a key part in securing transformational funding for Alder Hey Children's Charity.
As Bid Writer, you will lead on the development of compelling, high-quality funding applications to large-scale national grant programmes and, over time, statutory funding bodies. Collaborating across the Charity and the hospital, you will translate complex clinical, research and capital projects into persuasive, evidence-led cases for support that inspire investment in the future of children's healthcare.
This is a varied and rewarding role for someone who enjoys writing, research and building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. You'll bring together ideas, evidence and expertise to shape ambitious projects into funder-ready proposals with the potential to make a lasting difference for children and families.

Additional Information
In April 2025, the charity adopted a four-day working week policy. Staff previously working 37.5 hours now work 30 hours across four days, maintaining full pay while supporting a better work-life balance.

Role Details
Title: Skilled Volunteer Programme Manager
Time Commitment: Full time (with the option of 4 days a week)
Locations: Hybrid – remote and in-person (minimum 2 days per week in our Battersea office, with travel across London as required)

Responsibilities
- Programme delivery: Own the end-to-end matching process from first conversations with volunteers and organisations, through project scoping and agreements, to monitoring live projects and collecting feedback, ensuring fast, high-quality matches and strong relationships throughout.
- Growth & expansion: Lead research and planning for expansion in different boroughs, working with volunteers and the Head of Skilled Volunteering to identify opportunities and build relationships in communities.

You will provide high-quality legal advice and representation at IAA Level 2/3 or Solicitor standard. The Senior Risk Relationship Manager provides pivotal leadership in risk management, operational resilience, governance and data protection across Hope for Justice and Slave-Free Alliance globally. Advising on both threats, and opportunities across the organisation’s portfolio, producing insights on emerging themes, particularly those affecting modern slavery and human trafficking, and NGO operations
Operating at the second line of defence (L2), the role delivers independent oversight, guidance, and constructive challenge, strengthening risk management and compliance across the organisation. It supports and holds operational teams to account, ensuring risks are effectively identified, managed, and aligned with organisational risk appetite and governance requirements.
Aligned with ISO 31000 principles, the role leads the development, maturation, and embedding of an enterprise risk approach that integrates risk into strategy, operations, and organisational culture, enabling clear ownership across both centralised and decentralised functions.
The postholder works closely with operational and security leaders to strengthen organisational readiness for, and response to, major incidents and crises, ensuring effective escalation, coordination, and learning.

Main Duties
Risk Management
- Lead the strategic and operational development of the organisation’s risk framework, ensuring alignment with ISO 31000 and organisational context

About The Role
We are currently recruiting for two Practice Lead positions. One role will support Local House Projects (LHPs) in the North, while the location and focus of the second role is still to be confirmed.
As a Practice Lead, you will have primary responsibility for supporting a group of LHPs, while also contributing to wider areas of our work. You will work alongside staff within LHPs to create environments where young people are supported to make a positive transition into adulthood.
A key part of the role is working in partnership with the Care Leavers National Movement and the wider House Project team to ensure that young people remain at the heart of everything we do. You will support young people to shape and drive their own LHPs, while helping to develop and share excellent practice at both local and national levels.
About the organisation
The charity was established in August 2018 as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), they support local authorities in setting up Local House Projects for young people leaving care. Believing every care leaver should have this option, the charity empowers them to create and sustain homes.
The initiative, co-designed with young people, began by asking, "What makes a house a home?” Local House Projects in England and Scotland help care leavers transition into permanent tenancies, fostering a supportive community. The charity has helped over 780 young people successfully move into their own homes, with no evictions or tenancy breakdowns, ensuring a secure start for their futures.
This role has become available due to growth of the charity.

What the job involves
We’re looking for a Business Improvement Executive to join our Fundraising Directorate on a fixed term contract for 12 months. How and where we work

Role Purpose
The Freedom Project Co-ordinator plays a key role in supporting individuals experiencing homelessness, poverty, and social exclusion to move towards greater independence, stability, and personal progression.
Working directly with Freedom trainees, volunteers, and Mustard Tree clients, you will provide person-centred support through one-to-one casework, group activities, crisis intervention, and progression planning. About you
You'll be a highly organised and analytical professional with experience of managing, analysing and reporting data to support organisational performance or impact measurement. Drawing on your expertise in youth work and programme design, you'll help create activities, badges and resources that are relevant, accessible and fun, while ensuring volunteers feel confident delivering them. You'll collaborate across teams, using insight, learning and over 100 years of Scouting experience to continuously improve what we offer.

The Director of Growth, Impact and Partnerships will provide strategic leadership for growth, partnerships, engagement and impact across Ormiston Families.
As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, the postholder will help turn strategy into action by building strong partnerships, growing sustainable income, strengthening organisational influence and ensuring the organisation has the relationships, reputation, resources and insight needed to increase its reach, deepen its impact and deliver its long-term ambitions.
The postholder will also play a central role in delivering Ormiston Families' organisational change journey, helping us grow well. They will work across Purpose, People, Process and Performance, helping to shape a more connected, insight-led and sustainable organisation by embedding strategic planning, organisational learning, performance measurement and continuous improvement into how the charity operates, grows and creates impact.
The main duties of this role include:
- Setting and delivering an ambitious, evidence-informed strategy for income growth, engagement and impact.
- Supporting the delivery of the organisation's Purpose, People, Process and Performance agenda, ensuring growth, engagement, impact and partnerships contribute to organisational effectiveness and long-term sustainability.
- Championing the development of organisational insight, performance measures and impact reporting that support strategic decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Representing Ormiston Families externally, building credibility, influence and strategic relationships with key stakeholders, partners, commissioners, funders and sector leaders.
- Leading the directorate to deliver annual income targets, long-term growth plans and high-quality supporter experiences.
- Developing existing income streams and identify new opportunities, products, partnerships and channels.
- Building and influencing strategic partnerships across the charity, public, education, health, community and commercial sectors to increase impact, reach and sustainability
- Overseeing integrated marketing and communications activity that builds awareness, reputation and engagement.
- Ensuring Ormiston Families’ story is told with clarity, warmth and impact, grounded in the experiences of children, young people and families.
- Leading organisational impact measurement, evaluation and learning, ensuring insight is embedded in planning, delivery and decision-making.
- Promoting a culture of innovation, learning, inclusion and continuous improvement.
- Providing robust performance reporting, forecasting and analysis to the CEO, SLT, committees and Board of Trustees.
