About the role:
At Camden Young Person’s High Support Accommodation Service, nights matter. They can be the point where worry, distress, conflict or risk comes to the surface - and where calm, skilled leadership can make all the difference. As Night Manager, you will lead the overnight service, making sure young people experience safety, consistency and support when they need it most.
You will be the senior operational decision-maker overnight, leading the night team to respond confidently to incidents, safeguarding concerns, missing young people procedures, building safety, visitor access and any actions handed over from the day team. You’ll work with a high level of independence, while knowing when to liaise with the on-call manager, emergency services or wider management team to keep young people, staff and the building safe.
This is also a role about connection. You’ll line manage, support and guide Night Workers, oversee locum or agency staff where needed, and make sure overnight learning, handovers and emerging themes are shared clearly with the Service Manager and wider team. Through trauma informed, strengths-based and psychologically informed practice, you’ll help build a service where night and day support feels joined up, purposeful and ambitious for young people’s futures.
*Please note, this is a night working role.
About you:
About us:
We’re London’s leading homelessness charity – and we get things done.
In a city where hundreds are forced into homelessness every day, our work has never been more needed or more challenging. And we’re not shying away. We’re rolling up our sleeves to make change and helping over 10,000 Londoners every year. We prevent homelessness, provide safe places to live and give people the opportunity to rebuild their lives and transform their futures. And we never give up.
We’re here for Londoners wherever they are on their journey. We start with trust, building relationships that help people feel safe, supported, and ready to move forward. Every day, we put people first in everything we do, challenging injustice and barriers that keep people from the safety, stability and opportunity they deserve. We stand alongside people as they rebuild and shape a future that feels their own.
Joining Single Homeless Project means joining a team that’s bold, compassionate and determined to do better for the people we support and for each other. You’ll work alongside colleagues with lived experience, in a space that’s trans-inclusive, disability-friendly, and actively striving to be anti-oppressive and equitable.
We’re not perfect, but we’re real. We listen. We learn. And we push forward, together. Because this isn’t just a job. It’s a chance to lead with empathy, spark change, and help build a London where no one is left behind.

If you require the use of AI software to aid in completing your application, we ask you use the generative responses as a prompt for writing your answers and avoid copying and pasting. Permanent contract
Family Action Head Office, London (N1) with hybrid working
37 hours per week (full-time)
£37,211 - £41,518 per annum
Plus £3,866 Inner London Weighting (if London-based) or £480 (if home-based)
We are flexible about both hours and where you work. The role is 37 hours per week full-time, but we welcome applications from people looking for part-time or other flexible working arrangements. We are also open to both office and home-based working; for colleagues based at our London office (N1), we operate a hybrid working model with an expectation of office attendance twice per week.
One of the roles will partner with our London-based services, so being based in or within commuting distance of London would be beneficial. However, we don’t want location to be a barrier and we welcome applications from people based elsewhere in the UK.
Family Action & the Role’s Impact:
At Family Action, we support people through change, challenge or crisis. It’s what we’ve done for over 150 years. We protect children, support young people and adults and offer direct, practical help to families and communities.
We see first-hand the power of family to shape lives, for better or worse, so we speak up for the importance of family in national and local policymaking, amplify family voices and represent the changing needs of families in the UK today.

Alongside this, you will lead on complex change processes, including TUPE transfers and restructures, working collaboratively across HR, Services, and Implementation teams to implement change effectively.
If you have significant HR experience, strong applied knowledge of employee relations and experience supporting complex organisational change, we would like to hear from you. You might come from a generalist HR background or have specialised in employee relations or change, and you don’t need to have worked in the not-for-profit sector or held a formal management role before. The ability to build trusted relationships, provide pragmatic and solution-focused advice, deliver through others and contribute to the continued development of our people practices will make you an ideal candidate.
We are a supportive and inclusive organisation, and we want to break down barriers to people joining us. If you don’t feel confident applying because you don’t meet every single requirement on the Person Specification – please don’t let that stop you; we want to hear from you. We encourage you to use the application to highlight what you can bring to the role – your skills, knowledge, and experience as well as your values. At Family Action our 4 core values are incredibly important to us and underpin all we do. About us
We are a global community taking practical action against poverty and today’s environmental crises. Our approach is to identify what works on a local level, then adapt and amplify it across different regions, countries and continents. All of Practical Action’s work is focused on two connected areas for action - livelihoods and climate resilience – and we’re working to deliver three big, global changes:
Big change on food – to sustain people and planet
Big change on energy – clean and accessible for everyone
Big change on climate risk – safer lives, stronger livelihoods
Practical Action exists to change the systems that keep people in poverty and vulnerable to the impacts of climate change, nature loss and pollution.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.

Our grants run alongside learning programmes, challenging and supporting leaders. We’re innovative in how we do this, through both traditional and enterprise grants. We lead on Match Trading™, a grant that challenges leaders to grow their trading income, and we are working on further grants innovations.
You will work with our Grants Team, Project Co-ordinators and Assessment Lead to develop and support grant management across a range of programmes. You will support the development of grant policies and processes, writing grant paperwork and documentation, overseeing payments, and reporting to the wider Programmes Team and others about our work.
You don’t need to have managed grants before, but you do need to have a good understanding of a wide range enterprises and charities, gained through experience of training, business consultancy or development support. You will have a good understanding of business models, legal structures and financial systems that social and environmental organisations and community run and owned businesses may use. You get satisfaction from helping things run well and from creating places where people enjoy being.

We're also trying to build a different kind of organisation—one that values trust, autonomy, learning and shared responsibility. People here are encouraged to think for themselves, contribute ideas and take ownership of their work.
This role would suit someone with experience of coordinating an office, community space, workplace or similar environment who enjoys balancing practical organisation with working alongside people. If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
To apply for this role, please complete the application form on our CharityJob page by 5pm on the 16th August.
We welcome either chronological or skills-based CVs for this role.
Your supporting statement should address the following two questions. Please submit a minimum of 400 words but no more than 800 words (for both questions in total):
1 What is at the heart of your offer to Likewise, and how do your experience, skills and competencies meet the the areas we are looking for?

Help young people with an affinity for mathematics discover where it can take them.
We're looking for a Careers + Employer Partnerships Manager to help University Maths Schools prepare young people with an affinity for mathematics for ambitious futures.
This is an opportunity to join a small, ambitious charity at an exciting stage of its development. You'll do this by building employer partnerships, developing national careers intelligence and creating a national centre of expertise that every University Maths School can draw upon.
If you enjoy connecting people, spotting opportunities and helping young people make informed choices about their futures, we'd love to hear from you.
Why U-Maths?
U-Maths is the national charity for University Maths Schools.
Our vision is that every young person with an affinity for mathematics can thrive and succeed.
Our mission is to advance excellence and equity in mathematics education by strengthening and growing the national network of University Maths Schools.
There are currently nine state-funded University Maths Schools, each established in partnership with a leading university and specialising in mathematics and the mathematical sciences for students aged 16–19. The network continues to grow, with two further schools in Nottingham and Durham due to open.
Together, these schools are helping more young people – particularly those from backgrounds currently under-represented in the mathematical sciences – to access an outstanding mathematics education and progress to ambitious futures.
Why this role?
No single school can maintain deep expertise across the rapidly changing landscape of mathematical STEM careers.
That's why U-Maths works nationally.
As our Careers + Employer Partnerships Manager, you'll build the employer relationships, careers intelligence and national expertise that help every University Maths School give students outstanding information, advice and guidance about mathematical STEM pathways.
About the role
You'll lead U-Maths' work to strengthen careers education and employer engagement across the network.
Working closely with schools, employers, universities and alumni, you'll build partnerships, develop careers insight, support careers and UCAS leads, create high-quality resources and lead national careers opportunities that individual schools would find difficult to create alone.
You'll help schools understand the skills, qualifications and experiences valued by mathematical employers, ensuring that careers advice, university guidance, research projects and enrichment activities are informed by current sector insight.

You'll:
About you

You might have developed your skills in careers education, employer engagement, widening participation, partnerships, outreach, higher education, the charity sector or another setting where helping young people understand and access opportunity matters. We're more interested in the relationships you build, the insight you bring and the opportunities you create than in where you have gained them.
