About us
The Alliance for Youth Justice is an alliance of more than 70 non-profit organisations advocating with and for children to drive positive change in youth justice across England and Wales. We mobilise our members’ frontline expertise, children’s lived experience, and evidence from research to champion a child-centred, rights-based and trauma-informed system that treats contact with the justice system as a sign of unmet need and systemic failure, prioritises support over criminalisation and gives every child the opportunity to thrive.
We're widely recognised as the most influential group campaigning for improvements to the system, with trusted access to decision makers, working towards three goals: keeping children safe from the youth justice system through prevention and diversion; racial justice across the system; and custody as a last resort for children.
About the role
Following the launch of our new strategic approach, our Operations and Membership Lead will provide the operational, financial and administrative backbone of the organisation — keeping our finances and governance on track, and coordinating our network of over 70 member organisations.
Finance, operations and governance (70%) — manage bookkeeping in QuickBooks, coordinate banking, prepare management accounts, support grant financial reporting, maintain internal systems (SharePoint, IT), lead on policy compliance (safeguarding, GDPR, health and safety), and support Board governance and statutory filings.
Membership coordination (30%) — manage the end-to-end membership process from enquiries to renewals, coordinate member surveys and data, and organise our events — quarterly member meetings, roundtables and webinars.
Anti-racist, anti-oppressive practice runs through how we work with our Board, staff, members and stakeholders.
About you
You have experience in an operations, finance or administrative coordination role within a non-profit or membership organisation, including managing the full financial cycle within a charity and a working knowledge of charity fund accounting. You're practically experienced with QuickBooks (or equivalent), highly proficient in Microsoft 365, SharePoint and Excel-based tracking systems or CRMs, and bring exceptional organisational skills, discretion and a proactive, self-motivated approach. You have a personal commitment to anti-racism, social justice and child rights.
Why join us
We're a small team of three punching well above our weight, with real scope to shape how we work and few layers of hierarchy. We offer flexible, trust-based home working (within core hours), plus 25 days' leave (pro rata), Christmas office closure, and a 5% employer pension contribution.
We encourage applications from historically marginalised groups even if you don't meet every requirement, and we do not use criminal records to exclude candidates.

Are you a recent graduate looking for a role where you'll learn how a charity runs day-to-day? The Architectural Heritage Fund (AHF) is looking for a friendly, organised Administration Assistant to join our team in London.
This is a great opportunity to start building your career in charity, social enterprise or office administration. You'll be at the heart of everything we do — supporting our Senior Management Team and Trustees, helping run meetings and events, and keeping our office running smoothly — while developing skills in governance, minute-taking, and project coordination. Whether you're just starting out or already have a year or two of administrative experience, what matters most is your organisation, attention to detail, and enthusiasm for learning.
You'll help manage diaries and meeting logistics for our senior team and Trustees, format and circulate papers for Board and staff meetings, book travel and accommodation, keep our records and filing in good order, and be a welcoming first point of contact for anyone who calls or emails AHF. You'll also get involved in organising our Annual Away Day and other AHF-wide events — and, with support, take minutes at decision-making meetings such as the Audit and Risk Committee and HR committee.
We'd love to hear from you if you enjoy staying organised, communicate clearly and confidently, and like the idea of learning new systems and ways of working. Any experience you've picked up through university, part-time work, volunteering, placements, student societies, committee roles, or paid administrative work all counts.
You'll ideally have an interest in the AHF's mission — helping to deliver a sustainable future for historic buildings throughout the UK — but a passion for heritage is a bonus, not a requirement.
We are a charity committed to being inclusive and giving everyone an equal chance to succeed – you can read more about our EDI commitments from our website. Applications are welcome from all regardless of age, sex, gender identity, disability, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, religion or belief, race, sexual orientation, transgender status or socio-economic background.

Application: Please submit a CV and covering letter (up to two sides of A4)

We will be reviewing applications and interviewing on a rolling basis, so early applications are encouraged — we may fill the role before the closing date.
About the AHF
AHF is a leading heritage charity founded in 1976 to help charities and social enterprises across the UK find solutions for vulnerable historic buildings. We do this by offering advice, grants, and loans. You can find more details of the AHF and the impact of our work on our website.

About the Role
This Project Officer role is part of Bright Futures, our mentoring and employability support programme for young Gypsy and Traveller people aged 15-25. You will keep the programme organised, connected and running smoothly - managing records and systems, building partnerships, and coordinating workshops and activities so that young people can find their way in and get the most out of the support on offer.
Many of the young people we work with have faced exclusion or discrimination within mainstream education, employment and other services, and are often not in education, employment or training (NEET). The processes, systems and communications you manage all need to be accessible and responsive to young people who may be wary of formal support.
You will coordinate outreach and community engagement to bring young people into the programme, build and maintain relationships with colleges, training providers, employers and community organisations, and manage day-to-day communications with young people, families and partners. You will set up and coordinate a Youth Advisory Group, giving young people a structured way to help shape the programme. You may also be asked to cover for mentee support when a mentor is unavailable or at capacity.
This role is funded by The National Lottery Community Fund.
About You
This role is for someone who enjoys keeping things organised and connected, and who wants that work to make a real, practical difference in young people's lives – someone committed to supporting young people from marginalised and underserved communities to fairly access relevant opportunities.
You will be highly organised, with strong admin skills and confidence using digital tools and databases. You will also be a confident communicator, equally comfortable writing a promotional post, following up with a training provider, or having a conversation with a young person or their family.
The role is ideal for someone with experience of outreach, building partnerships or community engagement, who can build trusting relationships with a wide range of people – from young people and families to colleges, employers and community organisations. You should be open to providing support to young people when needed.
We don't expect you to already have all the answers what matters most is your admin and organisational ability, your commitment to the communities we work with, and your confidence building relationships across a wide range of people and settings. We will support your development through supervision, training and a small, collaborative team environment.
We know not everyone will meet every requirement in the job description below, but if you feel you have what it takes, please apply and tell us how your experience and skills make you suitable.
If you are not sure what the work looks like or you want to ask questions before applying, we are happy to chat with you about the role. Please contact Mini Ravi (Programme Lead) by calling on our office phone.

Every grant you win becomes someone's first conversation in English, their first step into a job interview, their first time speaking up at a housing tribunal.
English for Action (EFA) is looking for a Partnerships Manager to grow the funding that powers our free, participatory ESOL classes for around 400 migrants across London. Our classes don't just teach English, they build the confidence and collective power people need to organise around housing and employment rights.
About the role
Working closely with our Fundraising Lead, you'll take real ownership of relationships with trusts, foundations and corporate funders, while helping shape how we diversify our income going forward. This is a role with genuine scope to bring your own ideas and see them through, not just execute someone else's plan.
You will:
- Write compelling grant applications, funding proposals and reports that win and retain funding
- Research and build a realistic pipeline of trusts, liveries and corporate foundations
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing donors and prospects
- Contribute to EFA's fundraising strategy, including newer income streams such as statutory, corporate, individual giving, membership and events
- Liaise with our Executive Team, Hub Leads and Project Managers so funding proposals stay grounded in what's actually happening in our classrooms and communities
- Maintain accurate donor and grant records on Donorfy, and support monitoring and evaluation of project outcomes
About you
You don't need a degree, and you're not expected to tick every box, nobody does. We're looking for someone with a track record of successful grant writing, strong research and relationship-building skills, and the organisation to manage multiple funding deadlines at once. Knowledge of the UK charity sector and UK trusts and foundations is essential; experience with public sector or EU education funding is a bonus.
If you have lived experience of migration and/or learning English as an additional language, we'd love to hear from you and how you'd like to draw on it in this role.
About EFA
English for Action provides free, participatory, empowering ESOL classes for migrants in London, spaces where students build community and organise collectively around issues like employment and housing rights. We're a national centre of good practice for a radical, participatory approach to ESOL, and we share this approach through training, research and partnerships. We're a team of 11 staff, a wider team of volunteers, and 7 trustees, run through shared leadership rather than a CEO, decisions are made collaboratively, and we aim for our structure to reflect that.
What we offer
- 22.5 hours (3 days) a week, mostly remote, with just monthly in-person meetings in London
- 28 days' annual leave (pro rata) after probation, plus bank holidays, plus a full week's paid closure over Christmas
- 6% matched pension contribution
- Enhanced sick pay, and enhanced maternity/paternity/adoption/shared parental leave
- Wellbeing allowance and full entitlement to leave for sickness, including mental ill-health
- A genuinely flat, non-hierarchical culture with collaborative decision-making on strategy and practice
- Tech and cycle scheme, and actively encouraged continuous personal development
Equal opportunities
EFA particularly encourages applications from people of colour, who are currently underrepresented at EFA and across the charity sector, and from people who have experienced moving to the UK or have English as an additional language. Where two or more candidates are of equal merit, priority may be given to a candidate from a less well-represented group. Please let us know about any access or other requirements we can accommodate.
Closing date: 11.59pm, Wednesday 30th September 2026
Skills test: w/c 5th October 2026 (writing and budgeting)
Interviews: Friday 9th / 16th October 2026

Help strengthen the organisation behind the UK’s professional voice and trade union for midwives and maternity support workers.
Location: Hybrid, with travel to London and across the UK as required
Applications close: 9 a.m. Monday 12th October 2026
Who we are
The Royal College of Midwives (RCM) is the membership organisation, professional association and trade union for midwives and maternity support workers across the UK.
We support our members throughout their careers, from education and training through to the day they leave the profession. Our work is guided by members and focused on improving their working lives, amplifying their voices and building our midwifery community.
The RCM plays an important role in maternity services, workforce issues, professional leadership, campaigning and public policy. Our members need an organisation that is influential, responsive and trusted, with the systems, insight and confidence to support them well.
About the role
The Chief Operating Officer will help the RCM turn its strategy into disciplined, inclusive and member-focused delivery.
Working closely with the Chief Executive, Board, Executive Team and colleagues across the four nations, you will strengthen the business engine behind the RCM’s purpose. This includes financial planning, governance, risk, compliance, digital, data, CRM, operational performance, supplier management and organisational improvement.
The role comes at an important stage in the RCM’s development. We have made significant progress in working as One RCM, bringing together our professional association, trade union, membership and business functions around a shared commitment to members. The next COO will build on that work by improving financial grip, strengthening data and insight, developing clearer systems and helping teams work with greater confidence and accountability.
What we are looking for
You will bring significant senior leadership experience in a broad organisational role, such as COO, Deputy CEO, Chief Executive, Director of Corporate Services, Director of Resources or a comparable position.
You will understand how to build strong business infrastructure, improve systems and lead change through people. An accounting qualification is not required; however, you will have experience delivering strategic financial management. Importantly, we need someone confident with governance and risk, who is interested in how data, CRM and insight can improve member experience and decision-making.
You do not need to have worked in an organisation exactly like the RCM. Experience in a membership organisation, professional body, trade union, charity or values-led organisation would be helpful, but we are also interested in leaders from other settings who bring the judgement, curiosity and humility to understand our distinctive role.
If you connect with the RCM’s purpose and can help strengthen the organisation that supports midwives and maternity support workers across the UK, we would be pleased to hear from you.
Please click on the link to be redirected to the Peridot Partners website, where you can find full details of the role and how to apply.
Applications for this role close at 9 a.m. Monday 12th October 2026.

What we’re looking for:
- A successful track record of generating income, developing partnerships, identifying new leads and converting opportunities into active support
- Previous experience of fundraising, which could include community fundraising, corporate fundraising, supporter stewardship, sponsorship, challenge events, employee fundraising, Charity of the Year partnerships, etc
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, including confidence in networking, presenting and making fundraising asks
- Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage fundraising activity, events, budgets, supporter communications and CRM records
- A collaborative, supporter-focused approach and a strong commitment to COVEY’s mission, values and outcomes
COVEY is entering an important period of growth. Our 2025-28 Strategy sets out ambitious plans to increase income, grow unrestricted funding, strengthen our external profile and develop wider community support for the charity. The Fundraising Manager will play a key role in achieving this, and will be able to shape exactly how we do this from the ground up.

About the Role
We're looking for an experienced, proactive and collaborative Operations Manager to play a central role in the smooth running of Julie's Bicycle.
Working closely with the Operations & People Lead, you'll oversee core organisational operations including administration, office management, systems and technology, recruitment support, compliance and internal processes. You'll help ensure our team has the systems, tools and support needed to work effectively in a hybrid environment.
This is a varied role that combines operational leadership with hands-on delivery. You'll be the go-to person for many internal processes and will work across teams to improve systems, maintain compliance and support organisational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Administration
- Act as the first point of contact for general enquiries and operational support.
- Manage organisational administration systems and processes.
- Coordinate travel, meetings and logistics for staff and organisational activities.
- Support budgeting and logistics for team events, meetings and activities.
- Help implement and maintain Julie's Bicycle's environmental policies and operational practices.

- Support health and safety compliance and office wellbeing initiatives.
- Help create an engaging and collaborative workplace culture.

- Maintain organisational systems, databases and cloud-based infrastructure.
- Support GDPR compliance and data management processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve systems and ways of working.
Recruitment & HR Support
- Support recruitment, onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Assist with HR administration and employee records.
- Issue contracts and documentation for staff, freelancers and placements.
- Provide day-to-day support for people-related processes and queries.
About You
We're looking for someone with experience in operations, administration, office management or organisational support who enjoys problem solving, improving systems and helping teams work effectively.
You'll be highly organised, digitally confident, proactive and comfortable managing multiple priorities. Experience within the charity, cultural, arts or environmental sectors would be beneficial but is not essential.
If you read this advert and feel you almost match what we're looking for, we'd still love to hear from you. You may have built relevant skills through freelance work, lived experience, activism, organising or routes outside formal education.
Why Join Us?
At Julie's Bicycle, you'll join a passionate and supportive team working at the intersection of culture and climate action. We offer a flexible and collaborative working environment where you can make a tangible contribution to one of the most important challenges of our time.
Equality, Diversity & Inclusion
We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team and strongly encourage applications from people from underrepresented backgrounds. If you are excited about the role but don't meet every requirement, we would still love to hear from you.
We know job descriptions can feel daunting and that people who are from the global majority, from working class backgrounds, those without formal qualifications and some LGBTQ+ candidates are statistically less likely to apply even when they are well suited to a role.
Closing date: Thursday 17 September 2026
We strongly encourage early applications as we may close the recruitment early if we have reached a sufficient number of viable applications.
Julie’s Bicycle is a leading not-for-profit, mobilising the arts and culture to take action on the climate, nature and justice crisis.
