We are looking for a Business & Corporate Engagement Partner to join our Wales and South West Operations team.
We are looking for an ambitious and autonomous individual to develop, deliver and grow our long-term regional corporate fundraising programme.
The key aim of the role is to secure new corporate partnerships which will both contribute to Canal & River Trust’s core mission of Keeping Canals Open & Alive and help companies to achieve their own Corporate Social Responsibility goals.
You will work with businesses and organisations across Wales and the South West to secure support for work and projects that further our charitable objectives. You will be focussed on securing unrestricted income or restricted funding towards work within annual business plans.
You will be able to use your skills and expertise in corporate/charitable fundraising to help shape the projects and initiatives to help achieve your targets, with the key focus areas outlined below:
- prospecting new corporate partners, identifying new growth opportunities that match our charitable objectives, developing cultivation plans to build partnerships
- stewarding relationships to ensure that our corporate partners feel valued and connected to the Trust’s objectives
- identifying and shaping packages of sponsorship and support, ensuring consistency with other regions and the national Fundraising Directorate
- Working with colleagues in the regional team to identify and shape regional projects, writing funding applications to local corporate foundations within Wales and South West, working alongside the regional delivery team to track progress and help with forecasting, reporting back to funders
Location: This role will be offered on a remote home-working basis with a requirement to attend our Gloucester hub for team meetings and collaborative working with colleagues.
Candidates will also be expected to travel across the region as required to meet with external partners in their premises or on the canal network (expenses will be paid).

Reporting directly to the Partnerships & External Relationships Manager, (Wales & South West), you will represent the Trust externally and champion corporate fundraising internally. You will be part of a driven, ambitious and engaged team, and will have a supportive colleague environment and the space to shape and develop this important role within the team. You will be working collaboratively with colleagues in Fundraising, Enterprise, Community Engagement, Operations, and other areas across the business. Externally your ability to connect and develop strong stakeholder relationships with Corporate partners, our Regional Advisory Board, Agencies and suppliers are all important to your success and the success of the team.
Key Accountabilities:
- Develop and deliver a corporate engagement strategy.
- Explore new trends in corporate and leadership giving and undertake research and prospecting to ensure a continuous pipeline of corporate opportunities and develop specific propositions for each.
- Support the region in delivering the fundraising pipeline.
- Nurture, develop, support and service a range of corporate partnerships that provide a range of benefits to the Trust in the form of income, in-kind support, volunteering, awareness raising and fundraising opportunities.
- Develop monitoring and reporting frameworks, and undertake the necessary reporting, for the corporate engagement programme as a whole and for individual corporate partners as required.
- Work with colleagues nationally and from other regions to ensure corporate engagement opportunities are coordinated across the Trust to maximise benefit, eliminate duplication and present corporate partners with a single point of contact.
- Work with regional colleagues to identify opportunities for delivering corporate engagement activities.
- Represent the Trust in fundraising activities, at events, with supporters and the media.
Knowledge, Experience & Skills:
- Evidence of strong relevant experience with considerable track record of successful corporate and non-project-based fundraising.
- Ability to think and plan strategically with a proven track record of developing fundraising strategies, including setting ambitious targets and delivering results.
- Proven track record of securing significant corporate partnerships that have delivered both financial and non-financial value.
- Proven track record of bid-writing for fundraising.
- Experience of successfully managing significant corporate partnerships.
- Experience of research and prospect identification and development.
- Experience of developing processes to manage corporate engagement activity and reporting on outcomes.
- Thorough knowledge of fundraising best practice and relevant aspects of charity governance.

About the Role
The Legal Officer will be an integral part of the UK Litigation team and will work closely with external legal teams to advance our cases and ensure coordination of legal actions in line with Reprieve’s strategic goals. They will be responsible for administration and maintenance of casefiles and key case management documents and assume certain day-to-day file management responsibilities. They will feed into case strategy discussions and will support the team by conducting and overseeing legal and factual research, drafting documents for litigation and advocacy purposes, and producing and maintaining core internal documents and records. The Legal Officer will also help advance investigations on selected cases, coordinating record collection, feeding into investigation plans and supporting other investigative work.
In addition to working on UK legal cases, the role will encompass work on Reprieve’s cross-cutting strategic United Nations engagement and international litigation. This will involve monitoring for relevant opportunities to shape international law and working on international legal submissions, particularly before international human rights complaints mechanisms and international tribunals.
There may also be opportunities to contribute to other areas of Reprieve’s work.

Length and Salary
This is a full-time role, on a one-year fixed term contract, with the possibility to extend, subject to funding. The annual salary is £42,193 per annum, less any required deductions for income tax and national insurance.
This role is based in Reprieve’s London office. Reprieve operates a hybrid working model and we require staff to work two days per week from the London office and the rest of the week from home. Applicants must have the current right to work in the UK, which will be checked prior to interview.
Your presence is important during core office hours, whether remotely or in the office. You will also be available outside of office hours in the event of an emergency, for example case developments that require urgent action. This is a role that may require travel and work outside of core office hours from time to time.

Key Responsibilities

Job purpose:
To assist with the day-to-day processing, reporting, oversight and management of a diverse range of incoming complaints and whistleblowing disclosures and appropriate escalation of complaints requiring escalation to relevant Area Leads.
The post will play an active role in providing support to the IRW Complaints Team ensuring compliance with associated policies and processes. The role will involve the preparation of key documents and acting as a liaison with relevant internal and external stakeholders to compile and organise key information to support the work of the IRW Complaints Team.
To provide support and assistance to the Policy and Compliance Manager in the effective and efficient management and administration of the Policy and Compliance function and wider needs of the Division. To assist with ongoing reviews of internal or external policies and processes, production of resources, reports and associated materials and additional support as directed.
The successful candidate must have:
- A degree in a relevant qualification and/or significant experience suited to the wide remit of the role.
- Strong and seasoned analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and laterally, to overcome challenges.
- Strong organisation skills and attention to detail to ensure delivery of high-quality work.
- Ability to prioritise and work efficiently under pressure and subject to changing priorities, meeting deadlines, and using judgment and initiative in problem resolution.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. Excellent written and spoken English in particular.
- Excellent levels of computer literacy including Microsoft Office applications.

- Ability to build constructive working relationships and ability to respond appropriately in fast changing and challenging situations.
- Willingness to travel within UK and internationally.

We are a volunteer-run, non-profit Community Interest Company (CIC) looking to hire an Operations Lead on a 6-month contract with a view to becoming our first permanent, employed member of staff.

The National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC) is seeking a proactive and skilled Media Officer to join our Communications and Public Affairs team. This is a newly created role, offering the opportunity to help shape and strengthen NFCC’s voice in the national conversation around fire and rescue services.
Reporting into the Media and External Affairs Manager, you will play a central role in growing our media presence and positioning NFCC as the go-to source for journalists covering national fire and rescue issues. You will help to ensure our messages are clear, timely, and authoritative across all platforms.
Join us and help ensure that fire and rescue services have a strong, consistent voice on the national stage.
Key responsibilities:
Serve as a point of contact for incoming media enquiries.
Draft high-quality, publication-ready communications content – including press releases, news articles, opinion pieces and other engaging content.
Support NFCC’s campaigns and policy initiatives by securing media coverage and developing strong relationships with journalists and editors.
Take ownership of key communications tools and systems, including media monitoring and audit of coverage.
Act as the lead Comms officer on at least one area of NFCC’s work in partnership with the relevant NFCC teams and lead officers (but will also work on a wide range of our issues and areas).
Participate in an out-of-hours communications rota as part of NFCC’s communication support function (with some out of hours support – see job description for more information).
What we are looking for:
Experience in a media, journalism or communications role.
Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce accurate, compelling content under pressure.
Confidence in handling media enquiries and building positive relationships with the press.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
A collaborative approach, with experience working across teams and engaging with senior stakeholders.
A good understanding of the UK media landscape and wider external environment.

Working with us:
