The Role
Reporting to the Emotional Support Service Manager, the team will deliver a professional counselling service to stroke survivors, carers and relatives. Counselling sessions are designed to help clients to develop emotional resilience, readjust to life after stroke and prepare to reintegrate into community life.
Key responsibilities will include:
· Providing one to one counselling to stroke survivors, carers and relatives including those with communication or cognitive difficulties
· Providing counselling sessions in person, on-line or by telephone, throughout Liverpool.
· Assessing the appropriateness of counselling for service users by providing emotional needs assessment sessions as well as using appropriate screening/evaluation tools (e.g. PHQ and GAD)
· Managing risk and safeguarding issues in accordance with appropriate legal, ethical and organisational requirements.
About You
You will have:
· An advanced diploma in integrative, humanistic or person-centred counselling/psychotherapy; for example, BACP recognised course or equivalent (i.e. 450 hours skills and theory, 100 hours of supervised practice, 20 hours of personal therapy)
· A minimum of 1 year post qualification supervised clinical practice
· BACP registration (or equivalent) and actively working towards accreditation
· Experience of delivering short-term counselling
· Experience of working with people with cognitive impairment
· A flexible approach to hours and working arrangement, being able to work independently.
This role requires extensive travel across a large geographical locality to visit people at home. Candidates must be able to demonstrate how they can meet this requirement of the role. As a Peer Mentor you will need to have living experience of mental health difficulties and have gained a level of insight into your mental health experience and be ready to talk about them openly. It is important that applicants have reached a period of stability and can manage their mental health and wellbeing, for them to be ready for this role. They are looking for someone who is ready to use their experience to support and inspire service users in their recovery journey. Peer Mentors support service users on their emotional journey, and form therapeutic alliances to share ways of coping, understanding and nurturing hope and inspirations.
You will need to have excellent communication skills, with a good understanding of the individual recovery journey and the issues facing people suffering with mental health difficulties. They need a Peer Mentor who is able to share the values of their organisation and is passionate about their vision of “Better Mental Health for All” in Birmingham.
You would be joining their Intensive Community Rehabilitation service, a multi-disciplinary team ran jointly with the Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Trust. You will be supporting service users primarily with psychosis, bipolar and schizophrenia, among other additional mental health diagnosis, who are living in their own accommodation and require a period of intense rehabilitation. Support will be provided in the community and the service users own home and when necessary hospital settings throughout the Birmingham area when required. The service aims to provide rehabilitation in the community rather than hospital settings and to help people adjust and avoid repeat admissions. The team is made up of both clinical and psychological professionals, and our clients staff, and applicants must be ready to work co-operatively within a multi-disciplinary team. The service runs from 9am-8pm, and some evening and weekend work is required.

· Maintain a high-quality global HR operations function, including standardized policies where legally appropriate, standardized processes, technology, systems, tools, forms, and guidelines that are accessible, well understood, and consistently utilized across all offices.

Although remote working, they would need to be living in NI for travel and delivery purposes. This position is offered on a self-employed associate basis (contract for services). Main Role and Responsibilities
You will be responsible for delivering training across Ygam’s portfolio of programmes, including education, youth work, health, social care, community and sporting sectors.
You will lead workshops and training both online and face to face. The role will support professionals, parents, carers and young people to understand and help prevent gaming and gambling harms. It will focus on using education to increase awareness of the social, environmental and commercial influences, including the practices of the industries, that can shape behaviours and increase the risk of harm among young people.
A crucial element of your role will be updating all relevant records and CRM systems.

Delivery
· Deliver the Ygam portfolio of workshops (online and face to face)
