ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Individual Giving Manager to lead the growth and delivery of our Individual Giving Programme as we develop a nationwide movement for urban trees and tree equity across the UK. You'll take ownership of delivering our three‑year Individual Giving Strategy, shaping and delivering multi‑channel acquisition and retention campaigns that inspire thousands of people to support greener, healthier cities. 

Sitting within the Marketing, Communications & Individual Giving Team, you will oversee a portfolio of income streams including one‑off and regular giving, mid-level and major donors, payroll giving, in‑memory giving, challenge events, merchandise, and digital fundraising. You’ll bring a strategic, data‑driven approach to supporter engagement—paired with creativity, strong stewardship, and an enthusiasm for building meaningful donor relationships. 

You will also line‑manage our Senior Individual Giving Coordinator, ensuring exceptional data management, campaign management, stewardship and user journeys, segmentation and reporting across all activity.

About the Role

The primary focus of the Grants Officer is to support schools and youth organisations to operate the Jack Petchey Achievement Award scheme effectively and to promote, grow and deliver this and other Jack Petchey Foundation (JPF) grant programmes across London and Essex. This role will be responsible for Districts across Essex and act as the lead for specific uniform groups who deliver their activities in Essex.

This is a new role created following a recent restructure of the Grants team. It is offered initially as a 12- month contract (0.6 FTE / 22.5 hours per week) to support the growth of our Achievement Award scheme across Essex, with the potential of an extension, following review and subject to available funding. The working days and working pattern will be discussed with the successful candidate, however, it is worth noting the role will require evening and weekend work, so we are seeking someone who can be work flexibly.

The Achievement Award Scheme is the Jack Petchey Foundation’s flagship programme, with more than 2,000 schemes being operated in more than 1,400 schools, colleges and youth organisations across London and Essex. The post holder will manage delivery of the scheme and associated small grants in an assigned area of Essex. They will be responsible for maintaining and developing positive relationships with schools and youth organisations. The role will involve regular travel to visit schools and youth organisations, as well as outreach and community engagement work to identify and support new groups to apply to join our scheme. This work will also require evenings and occasional weekend work, especially to carry out assessment and review visits with youth organisations and to participate in our Achievement Award celebration events.

The successful candidate would therefore be someone who has flexibility to travel, work out-of-office hours, enjoys building relationships and public speaking, as well as navigating a busy grants and assessment caseload (desk-based processing, telephone calls/emails, and daily use of a database). You will need to be happy to travel regularly around Essex and one day per week to our office in Canary Wharf.

The Grants Officer role demands a wide range of skills and a high degree of autonomy, reliability and flexibility. You will need to be an efficient, highly organised team member with excellent communication skills and a passion for our work. You will need to be able to manage your own workload within agreed targets and maintain a programme of planned visits, while creating new development opportunities.

You will possess an eye for detail, good administration skills and the ability to communicate confidently and present a positive external profile for the charity. Evening and weekend work is a requirement to meet the demands of this role. This is a busy and satisfying role, with each Grants Officer leading relationships with between 350-400 organisations. You will have strong planning skills and the ability to deal efficiently with regular grant applications, and with busy grant reporting periods twice a year.

Evening and weekend work is a requirement of this role, which on occasion can require up to two to three out-of-hours events in one week, depending on the event schedule. These are seasonal events, primarily during term-time and time off in lieu will be granted for additional hours worked. This role could offer flexibility around school holidays.

Main Areas of Responsibility

1 Develop, manage and promote the Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme and other JPF opportunities

1.1. Identify schools and youth organisations not currently running the scheme and proactively promote the Achievement Award (AA) scheme to them, following up as required

1.2 Receive, assess and process all grant applications to join the AA scheme, in accordance with Jack Petchey Foundation policies and procedures

1.3 Attend, participate and assist with delivery of Achievement Award celebration events (usually evenings with some weekend events), including making a speech to congratulate the young people

2 Quality Assurance for the Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme

2.1 Develop relationships with and support schools, alternative provision, and youth organisations on the Jack Petchey Achievement Award (AA) scheme to operate the scheme to the highest possible standard

2.2 Provide timely support to such organisations to enable them to run the AA scheme effectively

2.3 Implement a strategic approach to conducting face-to-face and digital assessment and monitoring visits to schools and youth organisations in your area on the Jack Petchey Achievement Award scheme, to ensure our funding is well spent and to identify opportunities to improve delivery

3 Administer the Jack Petchey Foundation grant making process

3.1 Ensure accurate records are kept on the Foundation’s database (Salesforce), including up-to-date contact details and records of communication with groups in receipt of or applying for grants

3.2 Approve/authorise payment of AA grants and related programmes in accordance with our policies

3.3 Ensure appropriate grant reporting by schools and youth organisations and negotiate return of funds where a grant has not been used in accordance with conditions

3.4 Proactively manage risk, being alert to potential fraud 3.5 Ensure that clubs and groups receive all necessary materials to operate the Achievement Award scheme effectively

3.6 Assess and approve Leader Awards and Environmental Awards in accordance with our policy

3.7 Assess applications for Leader Award Grants, Educational Visits and Learning Experiences Grants and Environmental Award Grants in accordance with our policy, with recommendations put forward to senior staff

3.8 Provide regular updates on your work and Grants Officer patch during monthly one-to-ones

4 Promote the wider work of the Jack Petchey Foundation to schools and youth groups

4.1 Identify case studies and other stories and material that can be used for our communications, supporting communications team colleagues to raise awareness of our opportunities and impact

4.2 Represent the Foundation at digital and physical events, local networks, funders’ fairs, and community or young people’s forums to help promote our Grant Programmes and other opportunities

4.3 Assist with digital and face-to-face monitoring and reporting in relation to groups that have received a Jack Petchey Foundation Project Grant or other funding Promote the wider work of the Jack Petchey Foundation to schools and youth groups

Other Responsibilities

5.1 Actively contribute to Grants team and Jack Petchey Foundation team meetings

5.2 Take a lead on specific projects and undertake other tasks as agreed with Grants Manager

5.3 Provide telephone/email support and advice about our funding streams to existing grantees or potential applicants

Samaritans Training School - or STS for short - is our dedicated central training team who deliver high quality Samaritans training on behalf of branches and hubs. Our busy team delivers training to new and existing volunteers and staff members, throughout the year.​

We’re looking for an experienced Training School Manager to lead our STS function. You’ll oversee high-quality training delivery and facilitation, leading on quality assurance, continuous improvement and the ongoing development of training practice.​

As an experienced leader, you’ll manage and develop our high-performing STS team, striving to ensure excellence in our training provision. You’ll also be responsible for rota management and scheduling of training courses, balancing organisational priorities along with the performance and wellbeing of your team.​

You’ll work closely with stakeholders across the organisation, including staff and volunteers, through building strong working relationships. You’ll work to understand training and development needs, ensuing joined up learning design and delivery.​

If you’re a strong leader with clear and positive communication skills, an aptitude for problem solving and experience in the operational delivery of training, this may be the role for you.​

The Wishgranting Supplier Account Manager's role is to oversee and optimise the relationships between Make-A-Wish and our supplier partners, ensuring that suppliers effectively contribute to the organisation’s mission to fulfil impactful wishes. Key Responsibilities:
Supporting Gift-in-Kind Efforts

• Work closely with the Wishgranting Partnerships Manager to identify and secure new Gift-in-Kind partners. This involves helping to target potential suppliers that align with the Wishgranting team’s needs, preparing pitch materials, and participating in negotiations.
• Assist in articulating the benefits of Gift-in-Kind contributions to potential partners, demonstrating how such partnerships can help fulfil the organisation’s mission to grant impactful wishes while offering value to the supplier.
• Collaborate on creating tailored proposals that showcase how partnerships can reduce wish costs, strengthen community impact, and support organisational growth.

Supplier Account Management

• Maintain regular communication with Wishgranting suppliers to ensure alignment with the organisation’s needs, address any issues, and provide updates on mutual goals and expectations.
• Oversee the onboarding process for new suppliers, ensuring they are integrated smoothly into the organisation’s operations and fully understand the mission, values, and expectations.
• Develop and execute stewardship plans that keep suppliers engaged and motivated, show appreciation for their contributions, and foster long-term loyalty.
• Act as a primary point of contact for resolving any issues or disputes with suppliers, ensuring conflicts are handled professionally and in a way that maintains positive relationships.

Tech and Process Optimisation

• Utilise and optimise technology platforms to manage supplier accounts and the GIK inventory, streamline processes, and ensure that all data related to supplier performance, contracts, and contributions is organised and accessible.
• Work with the Wishgranting Team Manager to continuously seek opportunities to automate routine tasks related to supplier management, such as invoicing, stewardship, or managing contracts, to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Implement and manage tools that facilitate better communication and collaboration between suppliers and the Wishgranting team, ensuring a seamless flow of information and reducing the likelihood of errors or delays.

Main Purpose and Scope of the Job:

 Co-Ordinate an individual package of target hardening for clients using Stop Domestic Abuse services which is informed by a full risk assessment, the type and condition of the property and the needs and circumstances of the individual household. 

Working collaboratively with existing target hardening schemes within the city including Southampton City Council’s Dove scheme and similar offers from other social landlords and The Blue Lamp Trust.

Participating and contributing in awareness-raising campaigns of domestic abuse issues locally in liaison with local multi agency partnerships, and to participate in training events.

Remaining up-to-date and compliant with all organisational procedures policies and professional codes of conduct and uphold standards of best practice.

Maintaining accurate and confidential records using our secure web-based case management database and contribute to monitoring information for the service by ensuring that evaluation information is properly recorded

Stop Domestic Abuse is a proud women-led organisation supporting victims and survivors of domestic violence and abuse across Portsmouth and Hampshire. Our vision is a world without domestic abuse, and we work to ensure that it’s ‘everyone’s business.’

About the Role

Key Purpose / WHY?

The Carers Services Manager will play a vital role in leading a team to assist unpaid carers to connect with their communities and access the support they need within Herefordshire. The role will support the Herefordshire team, who deliver the ‘what matters’ assessment to carers and provide bespoke, person-centered information, advice and guidance to people accessing our services. Support includes but is not limited to; one-to-one support, events and activities, as well as signposting and referring to relevant agencies for additional support helping people on their caring journey. The role will work alongside internal teams and external partners to create community connections, develop an outreach support program, linking people to community resources with a focus on preventing the need for escalation to statutory services.

Key accountabilities & responsibilities

1. Service Leadership and Delivery

· Oversee day to day delivery of our commissioned Information, Advice and Guidance service for unpaid Carers in Herefordshire

· Facilitate the application, review and distribution of small grants to unpaid carers across the region as required

· Monitor service quality and delivery and report monthly Key Performance Indicators and quarterly monitoring reports to Local Authority Commissioners. Ensure reporting demonstrates the scale, impact, and quality of our services.

· Support carer self-identification and address barriers to engagement, including those faced by underrepresented groups of carers

Do you want to explore the intersection of faith, policy, and politics, and potentially pursue a career in one of these fields? The Joint Public Issues Team (JPIT) is recruiting to two full time paid internship positions to start in September 2026.

Interns work as part of a small ecumenical team on a diverse range of tasks and initiatives including communications, policy, campaigning and supporter engagement, contributing to the public advocacy and political engagement work of the Baptist, Methodist and United Reformed Churches.

JPIT is a partnership between the Baptist Union of Great Britain, the Methodist Church and the United Reformed Church, and the Church of Scotland is an associate partner. Its purpose is to help the Churches to work together for peace and justice through listening, learning, praying, speaking and acting on public policy issues. It is a team which brings together around ten staff working across the denominations. In recent years it has focused on issues around poverty, the economy, refugees and migration, the environment, peace and conflict, and politics.

These internships provide opportunities to develop skills in campaigning, communications, research, and policy within a dynamic team environment. There will be opportunities for professional and personal learning and development to equip the intern for further employment after their time on the internship. They are full time paid roles with fixed-term contracts to the end of August 2027, and a salary of £26,936.00 per year (we are committed to paying at least the London Living Wage). The Role 

This is an exciting opportunity to undertake one of the most crucial roles within the organisation. The Skill Mill Supervisor supports disadvantaged young people 16+ within the Justice System into work: 

• promoting learning and developing skills and pro-social behaviours 

• building relationships and establishing a work ethic  

• developing employability and practical skills  

• supporting the young people to overcome the barriers that can result in them failing to obtain or sustain opportunities that lead to sustainable training and employment. 
   

As the local Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing and working alongside a group of young people as they undertake assigned tasks that involve manual work / gaining a trade in addition to liaising with local partners to provide the team with opportunities to develop employment skills. 

The successful candidate will be expected to: 

• propose and develop innovative and effective plans to promote the Skill Mill locally,  

• risk assess and risk manage 

• cost and plan small works,  

• identify and source paid and unpaid work opportunities,  

• uphold health and safety requirements  

• and provide progress reports to customers and the Skill Mill management team. 

To be considered for this position it is essential that you have experience of direct work with young people who are considered to be at risk. This will include those who are at risk of crime, anti-social behaviour, previously been unemployed and may have had adverse childhood experiences.

You will possess previous experience of direct work with young people as well as experience of site / small scale construction / environmental / horticulture works and health and safety at work regulations. 
 

Key Responsibilities

Managing a team of young people and ensuring that you: 

• Establish positive, supportive, and trustworthy relationships with the young people to understand their needs and aspirations.  

• Provide emotional support, act as a listening ear, offer guidance on life skills, and encourage personal, social, and emotional development.  

• Work with young people to identify, set, and achieve personal and social goals, while also recording and tracking their progress.  

• Help young people discover and develop their skills, talents, interests, and aspirations, potentially through new opportunities and experiences.  

• Support young people in exploring positive pathways in education, training, and employment by encouraging positive choices and building resilience.  

• Uphold responsibilities for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the young people you interact with.  

• Liaise with partners such as schools, social workers, and other services to ensure effective holistic support and signpost to specialist interventions.  

• Maintain accurate and professional case notes and records of interactions and outcomes, adhering to organisational policies and data collection requirements.  

• Assist with the day-to-day administration of the program, which may include database management, reporting, and communication.  

Undertaking environmental and construction jobs and tasks and duties as determined by partners and other contractors of The Skill Mill. These could include: 

• Landscaping and fencing works 

• Maintenance of gardens, parks, bridleways, and similar public areas 

• Clearance of debris and blockages that are associated with site management, flood risk and environmental damage 

• ground works potentially associated with flood risk management site maintenance and habitat development 

• Remedial shrubbery and foliage activity and banks work that are associated with flood risk invasive species clearance and habitat development 

• building, repairing and maintenance of culverts, conduits, pipework and other built areas that are associated with flood risk, watercourses and habitats 

• improvement and maintenance of habitats, including planting activity associated with  sustainable wildlife 

• Maintaining the safety of self and others in the workplace completing Risk Assessments and Method Statements where appropriate.

Essential Requirements: 

• experience of working with young people and helping them develop and achieve their potential. 

• Ability to apply best practice when working with young people to enable them to meet their objectives. 

• To communicate effectively with colleagues and partners to promote opportunities for young people. 

• Ability to work effectively with key partner organisations including criminal justice and businesses 

• Knowledge of industry/trade with a strong understanding of Health and Safety. 

• Clean Driving Licence as role is expected to transport young people to and from identified work experience provisions.
