Often, the first point of contact for our clients at the Southwark Wellbeing Hub is the Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) Team – the IAG Team aim to provide support for residents who may be experiencing social-isolation, low mood, anxiety or depression. The service handles enquiries from people seeking support for a range of issues including welfare benefits, housing and homelessness, advocacy, family support, immigration, disability and legal advice in addition to accessing our in-house one-to-one mental health support offering, workshops/groups, culturally specific counselling, or housing/benefits specialists.

As an IAG Facilitator, your responsibilities include but are not limited to;

• Covering the Helpline
• Monitoring the referral inbox
• Providing clients with information advice and guidance, such as signposting
• Completing referrals to grassroots and statutory organisations
• Attending meetings with the wider team
• Siphoning clients into other areas of the Hub to access our wider range of support

As one of two IAG Facilitators, you’ll support volunteers to ensure that the service is running efficiently. You will be in regular contact with clients both interested in and accessing the service to make sure they have adequate support. This may include referrals and signposting to additional or alternative mental health and social support services.

Applicants should have experience of providing advice in benefits and housing, managing a diverse caseload and providing advocacy, and possess effective communication skills. An ability to work independently but collaboratively, to be proactive and show initiative is essential for this role.

About the role

As the Face-to-Face Acquisition Manager, you will manage Save the Children UK's F2F fundraising programme, supporting our agency partners to achieve outstanding results. Single Homeless Project (SHP) and Islington Council are proud to introduce St. John’s Mansions - a brand-new, purpose-built accommodation service that will provide safe, high-quality housing for individuals experiencing homelessness and facing multiple exclusion. This innovative project is backed by the GLA’s Single Homelessness Accommodation Programme (SHAP), and represents a bold step forward in tackling homelessness across North London. SHP are building a dynamic, compassionate, and forward-thinking team to bring this vision to life. 

St. John’s Mansions will offer 19 beautifully finished self-contained studio flats, designed to support residents in their journey from rough sleeping and emergency accommodation to independent living. With a stay of up to 24 months, residents will receive tailored, high-intensity support to help them build the skills and confidence needed to thrive independently. 

The service will operate 24/7, with a welcoming reception and dedicated staff & clients spaces to enable both structured interventions and spontaneous, meaningful engagement. SHP will be working not only within Islington but in partnership with five North London boroughs - Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey, and Westminster. You’ll hold a caseload of clients and take the lead on delivering person centred, strengths based support that is grounded in PIE and trauma informed approaches. This includes completing holistic assessments, co-producing support plans and risk management plans, and working consistently towards move on goals. Alongside this, you’ll play a key role in the day to day running of the service, working closely with colleagues and partner agencies to maintain a safe, well managed environment, respond to emerging needs, and ensure each client receives coordinated, high quality support that supports their journey into independent living.

We’re seeking a dynamic individual to support Medair UK’s engagement with Trusts and Foundations in the United Kingdom. As an integral part of the team you will help enable support for Medair's life-saving work responding to conflict, disease, and disaster so that the world’s most vulnerable and hard-to reach people can live with dignity and hope.

As a good communicator with excellent written skills and strong attention to detail, you will have the ability to produce compelling funding applications and donor reports. You will be proactive, highly organised and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. A confident relationship builder, you will enjoy supporting trusts and foundations to engage with Medair's humanitarian work. Whether through direct fundraising experience or transferable skills, you will understand how to communicate effectively with donors and support the development of long-term funding relationships. Comfortable using CRM systems and databases, you will combine creativity, strong administration skills and an understanding of what motivates charitable giving to help grow support for Medair's work. 

Key Activity Areas  

Lead Generation - Trusts and Foundations  

• Support the identification and research of new Trusts and Foundations aligned with Medair's funding priorities, maintaining a pipeline of prospective funders. 

• Manage a portfolio of small and medium-sized Trusts and Foundations, progressing relationships through the donor journey and supporting their ongoing engagement with Medair. 

• Conduct prospect research and prepare donor profiles, briefing notes and background information to support fundraising approaches and applications. 

• Work closely with the Head of Trusts and Foundations to identify opportunities to develop new funding relationships and increase support from existing partners. 

Communications - Trusts and Foundations 

• Prepare high-quality funding applications, letters of enquiry, cases for support and reports for Trusts and Foundations. 

• Support the delivery of stewardship plans for Trust and Foundation partners, helping to ensure funders remain engaged with Medair's work. 

• Build positive relationships with trust representatives through written communications, meetings, events and other engagement opportunities. 

• Ensure all grants are acknowledged appropriately and that donor communications are delivered in a timely manner. 

Planning, Monitoring and Pipeline Management 

• Maintain accurate records of Trust and Foundation activity, applications, grants and contacts within Salesforce. 

• Monitor application and reporting deadlines, ensuring all submissions are completed accurately and on time. 

• Ensure grants are correctly allocated to Medair programmes and that funding information is recorded and tracked throughout the grant lifecycle. 

• Support the monitoring of fundraising performance, pipeline progress and funding opportunities. 

Social Media Support (15%) 

• Working with the Marketing & Communications Manager to plan, create and schedule social media content across Medair UK's channels. 

• Draft engaging social media copy and identify stories, programme updates and supporter content that help communicate Medair's impact to external audiences. 

• Ensure all social media content is consistent with Medair's brand, values and communications guidelines. 

Tasks common to all staff  

• Act as an ambassador for Medair UK at all times when liaising externally and internally.

The Research & Evaluation Officer, Children and Young People is part of the Research & Evaluation team with a focus on supporting authentic co-creation and young people’s engagement. The role supports the Head of Research & Evaluation and Reading Rewired project team, as well as our programme teams supporting children’s and young people’s reading, in exploring methods of engaging more young people in reading and demonstrating the value, reach and impact of the Charity’s work in the delivery of reading-related benefits.

Travel across England will be required as part of this role, with some co-creation sessions expected to take place during the evenings or at weekends, depending on scheduling preferences of the young people involved in the project.

Purpose of the post

The Research & Evaluation Officer, Children and Young People role will deliver co-creation activity with young people aged 10-16, related to the Arts Council England (ACE)-funded new Reading Rewired project, which aims to develop young people’s reading engagement in libraries. As part of this activity, the role will:

·Work with The Reading Agency, Libraries Rising, immersive digital creative studio RamJam and nine library authorities across England to develop youth-led approaches to reader development in libraries, to enhance young people’s skills, reading engagement and library use, and support library skills and confidence in working with young people.

·Be responsible for championing youth participation across the Reading Rewired project, ensuring young people are central to the design and decision making of the programme. 

This role will also support wider functions across our children and young people’s work, combining a mix of skills and experience including co-production, research, evaluation and programme development. 

What you will do

Co-creation

·Design and deliver co-creation activities with young people aged 10-16 for the new Reading Rewired project, ensuring the project listens and responds to young people, particularly those who are often left out of conversations around reading.

·Facilitate co-creation sessions alongside library staff in nine library authorities across England: Camden, Devon, Kent, Kirklees, Knowsley, Norfolk, North Northamptonshire, Sandwell and Stockton, supporting library skills and confidence in working with young people.

·Work alongside immersive creative studio RamJam to deliver co-creation sessions focused on digital engagement tools (for example, Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, etc.).

·Analyse data collected through co-creation sessions, producing outputs such as overview reports or presentations of insights to key stakeholders.

·Use insights gained through co-creation to support the development of youth-led approaches to reader development in libraries.

·Remain an advocate for uplifting youth voices within the Reading Rewired project and in relation to the Charity’s wider work with children and young people.

Evaluation support and delivery

·Support with the maintenance of a robust, consistent organisational approach to data collection, programme monitoring and evaluation, ensuring methods and outputs align with Reading Rewired project outcomes and Arts Council England reporting requirements.

·Day-to-day oversight of research and evaluation datasets related to Reading Rewired, including answering queries from and providing support to the project team and our delivery partners.

·Support with the design and delivery of wider organisational research and evaluation and data insight projects, with specific reference to our work with children and young people.

·Support with the delivery of actionable data insights to inform evidence-based decision making around future project development in relation to the Charity’s work with children and young people.

·Handle data in line with The Reading Agency’s data protection, data storage, data sharing, and data collection policies and protocols.

Research

·Support with consultation and qualitative research in relation to wider organisational research and evaluation and data insight projects, with specific reference to our work with children and young people.

·Remain aware of key research developments, evidence and methodologies relevant to the Charity’s delivery of activity supporting children and young people, sharing these with colleagues where appropriate. 

·Contribute up-to-date, reliable content for the research and impact sections of The Reading Agency’s website, newsletters and other external communications, with specific reference to our work with children and young people.

·Contribute to the delivery of an original research programme, as led by the Head of Research & Evaluation, to inform and guide the work of The Reading Agency and raise our profile in this field. 

General Support

·Represent The Reading Agency’s Research & Evaluation team at meetings, events and conferences as required.

·Contribute to internal planning and project development.

What you will need to know

Qualifications:

·Relevant education, qualifications and/or working experience in the areas of social or qualitative research (including co-creation or participatory approaches), data analysis, or evaluation.

Skills/Knowledge:

·Excellent understanding of appropriate methods and approaches for working directly with young people using co-creation, co-production or participatory approaches. 

·Understanding of systems and process for analysing data plus awareness of effective research tools, in particular designing and delivering appropriate methods for use with children and young people.

·Effective project management skills.

·Strong understanding of safeguarding and experience of supporting teams to adhere to policies as well as supporting risk assessments.

·Competence in Microsoft Office applications and qualitative data analysis platforms such as Nvivo or equivalent.

Experience:

·Experience of delivering co-creation, co-production or participatory and/or action research, including translating data into tangible learnings or outputs.

About The Role

As a Legacy Management Officer, you’ll take ownership of a substantial and varied caseload of legacy files, dealing with everything from straightforward pecuniary and specific bequests through to complex residuary estates, life interests and contentious cases. You’ll be responsible for making sure RBL receives what it is entitled to, using your knowledge of wills, probate, trusts and taxation to scrutinise estate accounts, challenge discrepancies, resolve issues and make sound decisions throughout the administration of each estate. You’ll have the opportunity to work on contentious matters, claims against estates, ex gratia requests, foreign assets and tax or domicile issues, as well as attending negotiations, mediations, settlement meetings and Court hearings alongside RBL’s legal representation. You’ll also work closely with colleagues across the Legion to ensure restricted and wish legacies are handled correctly, while providing accurate financial information and insight to support reporting across Fundraising, Finance and the Executive Board.

We’re looking for someone with strong experience in wills, probate and trusts or established legacy casework who is comfortable interpreting complex Will clauses and applying the law in practice. You’ll need the judgement to spot a problem in an estate account, the analytical ability to work out what needs to happen next and the confidence to challenge or negotiate when RBL’s interests need protecting. Attention to detail is critical, but so is being able to build effective relationships with solicitors, executors, charities and colleagues. This would suit someone who enjoys the technical side of legacy administration, is confident managing their own workload and wants a role where their expertise, decision-making and knowledge of the sector can be applied to a genuinely varied portfolio of estates.

You will be contracted to our Haig House hub with a minimum expectation of two days per week working in person at the hub and flexibility for working remotely/at home when not on site.

You will be highly organised, confident working with financial records and systems, able to communicate clearly, and committed to deadlines and excellent service.

This is full-time role of 35 hours per week, but part-time working would also be considered (minimum of 21 hours per week)

What You’ll Be Doing

• Undertake and oversee the preparation of year end ‘Receipts & Payments’ accounts for our client charities with income up to £500k.
• Undertake, or review, independent examinations of charity ‘Receipts & Payments’ accounts.
• Provide fee quotes to clients and monitor job costs against this budget. Provide explanations for variances from budgeted fees and negotiate additional fees if required.
• Review the information we receive to identify any significant financial and regulatory issues that need to be brought to attention of our client charities.
• Working collaboratively with a team of experienced accountants who share a passion for church and charity finance.
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of our services and resources.
• Provide ad hoc advice to client charities on a whole range of technical issues (which may include advice on bookkeeping, accounting issues and arrangements, internal controls, gift aid, taxation and regulatory compliance) where appropriate

What We’re Looking For

• Bookkeeping experience
• Experience of / a desire to be involved in Christian finance, working with church/charity finance teams, treasurers & trustees.
• Excellent communication skills and a heart for serving Christian organisations.
• Experience working with or within churches or Christian charities is highly desirable.
• A practising Christian, in line with the Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010, who is committed to Stewardship’s Christian ethos.
