Media & Communications Officer

Business Disability Forum is the leading business membership organisation in disability inclusion. Our Communications and Marketing team is working hard to attract more businesses to join us as Members, to increase uptake of our events, products and services, and to help us to become more well-known for our policy work, research and campaigns.

If you want to play a part in creating a more disability inclusive society, have experience working in a media relations role, and a good eye for a story, come and join our busy, friendly team as part-time Media and Communications Officer. 

We are looking for someone who already loves working in media relations, but who can also support broader communications activity. If you have a can-do attitude, the tenacity to pursue media coverage, and great attention to detail, we’d love to hear from you.

The majority of this role will focus on developing and delivering proactive and reactive print, online and broadcast media relations campaigns to promote the benefits of disability inclusion, our membership, products, services and policy work to businesses and policymakers. You would also plan and write content for multiple platforms.

You will have:

• Experience of media relations with a proven track record at officer level.
• Experience selling in stories to journalists with the motivation to keep going and follow up.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience writing content for a range of audiences and channels.
• A flexible approach.

This new part-time role (4 days, Monday and Friday required), is based in our Communications and Marketing Team (6 people) and will work closely with our Media Consultant.

We offer opportunities for flexible working, including variable start and finish times, hybrid or remote working. Most staff work an average of two days a week in our office in London Bridge, London, SE1.

Main Duties of the Role

• To ensure the smooth running of the office on a day–to-day basis

• To attend appropriate meetings as identified by the line manager.
• To assist with the organisation of events, including ensuring the readiness of leaflets for information stands at partner events and outreach work.
• To assist with training events and activities held at Enfield Carers Centre including liaising with sessional       workers/trainers/speakers preparing room set-up, refreshments and set up of Zoom 
• To lead on matters relating to office management including supporting the CEO and ensuring the office adheres to health and safety compliance issues
• To assist in maintaining ECC’s electronic database, website and email system e.g. ensuring events are uploaded and attendance data kept up to date
• To act in accordance with all policies and procedures laid down by Enfield Carers Centre.

The ideal candidate must have:

Chalk Farm Tenant Management Organisation (TMO) is looking for a competent leader with a passion for social housing to manage our housing organisation.

Located close to the historic Camden Market, the TMO provides housing services and community activities for residents of the estate. As estate manager, your main duties will be to:

Your primary role will be to keep our service and young people, safe. You will help to contribute to a great working environment, with a calm, yet assertive manner, being able to handle potentially difficult situations. In addition, you will complete health and safety checks, ensuring the service is clean and tidy and reporting any repairs. You will be lone working as part of the role, so you will need to be comfortable with decision making and following procedures.

You will work a shift of 8pm-7am on a four night on, four night off rota. Although these are long shifts, you will get four days off after, which can provide a great work life balance.

The Fundraising Co-Ordinator will raise the profile and awareness of Young Bristol and working with the Head of Fundraising develop a fundraising work plan to qualify and develop a range of key funding streams. The post holder will help to develop and ensure the effective delivery of the fundraising plan in line with Young Bristol’s strategy. The role will be multi faceted involving Grants, Trusts and Foundations, Community fundraising, Corporate fundraising, Legacy fundraising, Events and High Value fundraising.

The role will work collaboratively to explore ideas and launch new initiatives helping Young Bristol achieve our mission, playing an important part in helping us to meet our fundraising targets and increasing participation and community engagement in our events and fundraising activities.

We're looking for an experienced, proactive and resourceful Repairs Maintenance Manager located at our Head Office in Caledonian Road, Islington.

Look Ahead Care and Support own and manage a mixed portfolio of properties across London and the Home Counties. The organisation accommodates customers with a range of support needs. The Repairs Manager will work as part of the Property Services team. Assuming day-to-day responsibility for the oversight and coordination of all repair and maintenance activities across all tenures (Supported, Unsupported, Intermediate and Market Rent).
Responsible for working collaboratively with the Customer Contact Centre to facilitate the timely and efficient completion of repairs and maintenance tasks in accordance with established standards and regulatory requirements. Offering technical expertise, whilst being a lead escalation for Contractor Management and Commercial Meetings.

What you'll do:

Instigate Orders
Authorise orders and approve variation price works from agreed SoR's. Offer technical support to Customer Contact Centre to ensure that works are value for money. Promptly instruct contractor and confirm agreed timescale. Liaise with scheme mangers as necessary.

Order Approvals
Approve and review high value orders, variations, and completed works prior to invoice.

Quality Assurance
Lead on all areas of quality assurance including sharing site visit responsibility with Property Inspector. Manage requests for pre inspections and post inspections with Property Inspector. Lead on Damp and Mould quality inspections and follow up reports. Communicate inspection KPIs to key stakeholders.

Works Delivery
Ensure that all works are completed within agreed time frame work and that this is accurately monitored through weekly WIP reports.

Contractor Management
Ensure strict adherence to Contractor code of conduct and agreed SLAs. Lead contract progress meetings to manage performance.

Complaint and Query Lead
Manage all complaints responses related to repairs from inception and act as escalation point for repairs and void teams.
