The Communications team is responsible for informing, inspiring and engaging the public by showcasing Alzheimer’s Research UK’s work, impact and mission across all channels. We lead the charity’s media and strategic communications activity—ensuring consistent, accurate and compelling storytelling that supports research, fundraising and organisational priorities. 

We are seeking a Communications Officer, Research to join the Research Communications Team. This role will support the planning, production and delivery of engaging communications that explain and promote the charity’s research priorities. Working closely with the Research team and colleagues across Communications, the postholder helps highlight key scientific developments, research programmes and organisational priorities. They act as a communications partner to the Research Directorate, helping to shape research narratives and producing high‑quality content that brings our science to life.

Key Responsibilities:

 Delivery & Production

· Produce clear, accurate content about research programmes (e.g., messaging, FAQs, web content, slide decks).

· Maintain and update supporter/public-facing research content on the website.

· Ensure communication materials adhere to brand guidelines and meet accessibility criteria.

 Research & Information Support

· Assist with planning and producing updates from research conferences for internal use.

· Develop researcher-friendly content and impact stories, working with the Content Team.

· Contribute to research-facing social media content and updates.

 Cross-Team Support & Collaboration

· Support communications for research initiatives such as the Biomarker Challenge, Dementia Frontiers Fund, Clinical Accelerator, Brain Bank and partnerships.

· Coordinate content and communications with partners in our research programmes, sharing credit and amplifying reach.

· Work collaboratively with Research, Policy and Communications colleagues to ensure accurate, consistent messaging.

 Administration, Planning & Coordination

· Provide administrative, planning and coordination support for research communications activities as required.

· Ensure all communications output is accurate, high-quality and aligned with accessibility and regulatory requirements.

About Alzheimer’s Research UK: Alzheimer's Research UK is the UK's leading dementia research charity. Our mission is to accelerate progress towards a cure.  Today 1 in 2 people will be impacted by dementia, either through caring for a loved one, developing it themselves or tragically both. But there is hope. 

The Counselling Administrator role is key to SEL Mind's exciting new counselling service for Black residents of Southwark, delivered as part of the wider Southwark Wellbeing Hub. This part-time role (2.5 days / 18.5 hours per week) will play an important role in the Wellbeing Hub's provision to the Black community, expanding equitable access to culturally-appropriate support.

As Administrator, you will provide front-line support to clients wishing to access the service, screening them, ensuring accurate appointment scheduling, providing information and signposting to other support services as necessary. You'll work closely with the Counselling and Outreach Coordinator to keep up-to-date on other community organisations providing access to relevant, de-colonial approaches to mental health support.

The main working site is a community centre in SE5, and the role is at least one day per week in person. You will play a vital role in delivering an efficient, well-run service. Communication and partnership working is vital, so you should be highly organised and able to work independently but collaboratively. 
The role will involve:

• Managing the Southwark Wellbeing Hub Counselling inbox and phoneline (along with the Counselling and Outreach Manager)
• Maintaining the schedule of counselling sessions and Counsellor group supervision, including client appointment reminders and re-scheduling as needed
• Providing clients with light-touch support by telephone and email
• Collecting and recording data, including customer feedback, and supporting management with reports

This role involves providing culturally specific support to Black clients. Applicants must be able to demonstrate lived experience of, and deep cultural understanding within, Black communities, and the ability to build trust with Black service users.

RESPONSIBILITIES

What is the main purpose of their role?

The Operations Manager sits within a team of six managers who are responsible for providing the strategic lead for all the activities of Suffolk Refugee Support. This is a senior operational role with responsibility for overseeing key programme areas including HR and facilities, volunteering, our ESOL provision and our International Women’s Group. The role will also oversee the development of SRS’s Client Partnership work, ensuring this is shaped through co-production with the clients we work with, supports strong external relationships, and is delivered through an effective, outcome-focused work plan. Working closely with staff, trustees, partners and clients, the postholder will contribute to the effective management and ongoing development of the organisation.

The role line manages a team of Officers and Coordinators responsible for specific programme areas, ensuring that the activities within their remit are effective, compliant and responsive, meeting both the charitable aims of SRS and the needs of the asylum seekers and refugees we support.

What will the job entail?

Among other responsibilties, you’ll be overseeing the function of the organisation and its strategic development by using knowledge of needs of clients, gaps in existing services and opportunities as they arise, working with the Management Team to agree funds required for services to be run and delivered, liaising with Trustees, developing and managing client focused activities, developing and managing operational areas of work and providing strategic and operational oversight to our Client Partnership work.

What you will need

• At least two years’ staff and project management experience in community, voluntary sector or social care settings; or other proven relevant management experience
• Experience of managing staff including delivery planning, performance monitoring, practising HR & disciplinary processes, and motivating positive work environments
• Experience of developing, managing and evaluating programmes to meet identified needs using imaginative ideas and making efficient use of restricted resources

Suffolk Refugee Support aims to ensure that all asylum seekers and refugees in Suffolk are enabled to live integrated, fulfilled and contributing lives in their new communities. New dads can face real mental health challenges — often quietly. In this role, you’ll help dads feel listened to, supported and confident, strengthening attachment and helping them access the right support.

Orbis UK is delighted to offer the role of HR and Governance Manager, a new position for the charity, as the organisation seeks to grow and build on past successes to reach its target of achieving £10m income in the next 5 years.

This role is critical to supporting a highly performing group of staff and trustees as we seek to transform lives through the prevention and treatment of blindness. This role will sit within the Business Support Team, which is responsible for the day to day running of the organisation and will be crucial in creating a revised HR strategy and ensuring that the organisation’s compliance with key statutory and regulatory requirements are maintained at all times. The successful postholder will work collaboratively with the Director of Finance and Operations to meet these objectives, but also will have a central role in identifying opportunities for growth within the HR and Governance function to ensure that good practice, wellbeing and compliance work hand in hand with one another and is embedded within the ethos of the organisation for the benefit of its staff and, ultimately, our beneficiaries.  

In addition, the successful postholder will work with the Board of Trustees to provide Executive Assistant level support to enable the Board to meet its obligations and to ensure that they can conduct the business of the charity in the most efficient and effective manner. You will be privy to sensitive and confidential information, attending meetings in order to take summary minutes and provide clerking services, including the issuing of papers, monitoring Companies House and Charity Commission requirements and acting as counsel to the Senior Management Team and the Board, where appropriate.

You will line manage and work with the Business Support Administrator, also a new post, that will provide support to you and the wider staff team. The recruitment of both these posts simultaneously provides a unique opportunity to a new postholder to shape this role and set out the strategy for this directorate and take ownership of demonstrable change within the organisation.

We are looking for someone who has a Level 5 CIPD or equivalent qualification with demonstrable experience in supporting and developing a HR strategy and/or working at an EA level working with senior executives across different sectors.
