Main Responsibilities
• Lead and develop the Trust’s fundraising, overseeing development of prospect pipelines and growing income year on year from membership, major donors, individual giving, legacies, corporate partnerships, grants and charitable trusts, ensuring that the Trust achieves its restricted and unrestricted income targets
• Inspire funding support for the Trust’s work through relationship-based fundraising with major donors, corporates and grant-making bodies
• Enable delivery colleagues to secure funding for their work, supporting the development of fundable projects and high quality bids and securing continuation funding
• Stimulate growth in individual giving from members and non-members through the development and implementation of an ambitious plan incorporating supporter development, recruitment and retention.
• Ensure fundraising systems are working effectively and all activity is compliant with the Trust’s policies, fundraising guidelines from regulators, and all relevant legislation, including Data Protection and Health and Safety.
• Manage an integrated functional team across fundraising, contribute to the direction and development of the Trust as a member of the leadership team and undertake other duties in line with the role as requested

Who we are
The problem - On average, 160 young people are excluded from school each week. Once excluded, prospects for these young people are bleak, with only 4% achieving good GCSE grades, and 67% entering sustained education, employment or training compared to 96% of their non-excluded peers. This can be a pipeline to prison, with concerning statistics showing 63% of prisoners having been excluded from school.
Our mission - To ensure that young people who have been excluded from school are not excluded from society.
Who we serve - We support the hardest to reach young people in the most disadvantaged communities, each of whom are most at risk of experiencing school exclusion or are at risk of being excluded. Young people who are eligible for free school meals are 4x more likely to get excluded, along with black Caribbean boys. Young people with special educational needs are also six times as likely to be excluded as their peers.
Our work - We work in a number of different settings both during term time and after school. Our coaches lead small groups of 8-10 young people, using sport as a hook and mentorship as an anchor to develop their soft skills, as well as improve their physical & mental wellbeing. This, coupled with exposure to the work place through Career Taster Days, raises their aspirations and puts young people in a better position to enter sustained education, employment or training (EET) when they leave school.
Role Overview

We are looking for someone to carry out maternity cover for our Programme Manager (Midlands & North). The Programme Manager role purpose is to lead on all aspects of service delivery within the Midlands & North area, which currently covers the following hubs: Birmingham, Solihull, Leicester, Northumberland, Tyne & Wear, County Durham, Liverpool, Warrington & Oldham. This is a 10 month fixed term role with the opportunity to extend employment at the end of the contract.
This includes accountability for the delivery of our in person services, digital delivery (Player Profiles), impact, employability, regional fundraising, regional partnerships, business development and people across all regions in the Midlands & North. You will directly line manage at least 3 people but be responsible for a wider team of circa 15 people.
This is a varied and hands on role that will be full of purpose. You’ll be joining a supportive and driven team that works hard to help young people change their lives. As a manager you will play a key part in the leadership of the organisation and driving the implementation of strategic plans on the ground.
It is important to us that this role remains embedded within the delivery of our interventions, therefore the post holder will be required to spend up to 25% delivering our programmes or working alongside staff for quality assurance.

The Trussell Trust are seeking a Philanthropy Executive to join our high-performing Major Donor team. The Philanthropy Executive supports the work of the team with executive tasks and in managing the stewardship communications for a specific caseload tier of supporters. You will help to develop our plans for working with this tier, liaising with the Individual Giving team to manage the donor journey between mid-value and the major donor caseload. Supporting the Major Donor team with executive tasks such as keeping accurate records, liaising with external suppliers, assisting with comms creation in liaison with the Marcomms teams; sourcing relevant content for donor updates; assisting with mailings and invitations to events; using Salesforce to identify and qualify prospects and performing basic desktop research; producing briefings; producing reports.

Principle purpose of the post:
The Operations Manager will work closely with the Chief Executive supporting on contractual service delivery (including the management of risk), quality and improvement across the organisation and ensure quality services are provided. What's the role about?

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:
- Intermediate levels of fundraising as demonstrated by work successes and recognised fundraising courses
- Experience in how to research and cultivate a prospect. And understanding of how to write a cultivation strategy
- Ability to write funding proposals and prepare briefing documents in advance of meetings and events
- Competent in the use of a CRM system (Salesforce), the Microsoft suite, other databases, research tools and methods

The Royal Marsden Cancer charity raises money solely to support the world-famous Royal Marsden, ensuring nurses, doctors and research teams can provide best in class care and life saving treatments in the UK and around the world. The Philanthropy team at the Royal Marsden works with the Charity’s most generous individual supporters, connecting them to the projects they are most passionate about and ensuring a truly exceptional supporter experience. The Senior Philanthropy Manager will manage a portfolio of existing major donors to secure 6 and 7 figure donations. They will play a significant part in the Charity’s upcoming Capital Appeal, managing key Appeal Board relationships and working closely with senior internal stakeholders to explore new networks, facilitate introductions and secure gifts.
Key duties include:
- Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team and senior hospital colleagues to develop strategic and personalised solicitation and stewardship plans to develop a broad portfolio of donors and prospects in the UK and abroad.
- Identify and build new relationships with individuals with a focus on securing six and seven figure donations in line with agreed targets.

About the Role

About You
Experience within a similar role, or within the charity sector, would be great. However, we know that a lot of the most important skills in this role are transferable from jobs in other sectors, such as relationship development, account management and business development. Hand in Hand are a lean operation, with 90% of all funds raised being spent directly on programmes in 2023-2024. You will play an important part in maximising funds raised for Hand in Hand, contributing to long-term success.
Reporting directly to Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships, the primary objective of the role is to manage existing grants and accounts, secure new funding and manage a Philanthropy and Partnerships Officer.
Your key focus will be identifying, creating relationships with and securing donations from corporate and family Trusts and Foundations and/or major donors. The role is highly international, working with colleagues across Afghanistan, Kenya and Tanzania, and a prospect base spread across globe.
Key responsibilities
- Grow income securing five- and six-figure gifts from Trusts and Foundations (60%) Corporate (30%) and Major Donors (10%) supporting an income target of £1.8m.
- Drive the expansion of Hand in Hand’s income by securing significant gifts ranging from five to seven figures from both new and existing donors.
- Engage senior-level donors through calls, meetings, and events to provide updates on project advancements and identify additional donation opportunities.
- Collaborate with UK-based colleagues and in-country teams in the creation of comprehensive proposals, including narrative content, logical frameworks, and budgets.
Ideal experience
- Proven experience in high value fundraising across, trusts, corporate or major donor.
- Proven track record of building strong relationships with donors, and ultimately securing, as part of a team, successful asks of five or six figure gifts from UK and/or non-UK based donors.

About the role
We are looking for someone who wants to make a real and lasting difference to people’s lives, taking the lead on generating the income required to deliver the Farm’s services and maintain our central functions and infrastructure. With support from the Farm’s Director, who is an experienced fundraiser, you will develop and implement the fundraising strategy for the Farm, leading on the delivery of key activities, initiatives and opportunities.
You will confidently take on the leadership of the Farm’s well-established fundraising from trusts and foundations, growing our unrestricted income base and attracting multi-year funding to support our projects. Your experience will also enable you to take the lead on establishing a new individual giving programme for the Farm, creating and implementing a stewardship strategy alongside the Marketing, Events & Communications Operational Manager. We anticipate that the postholder will spend 75% of their time managing and growing our existing trusts and foundations portfolio and 25% on building a new individual giving programme. We are looking for someone with experience (or demonstrable transferable skills and knowledge) and a willingness to work on both areas.
As a member of the Farm’s Leadership Team, you will work closely with the Director and Operational Managers to ensure that our fundraising strategy enables us to deliver against our objectives, as well as supporting project managers and other staff to contribute to the development of relevant fundraising opportunities.
