We are looking to recruit a motivated and talented individual with strong project management skills to lead the delivery of the training function within the BSI. - Manage and implement the Market's social media and communications activities in line with the Trust's strategic plan
- Manage external filming requests and report internally on press and social media coverage
- Develop and manage collaborative and partnership working arrangements with a wide range of external stakeholders; ensuring BM's purpose and aims are communicated effectively and consistently to influencers, supporters and the media
- Manage relationships with relevant agencies including social media and content creation
- Support the Head of Communications and Marketing in the development of a communications strategy and purpose in line with the Market's 2030 Strategy ensuring Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) is at the heart of all outputs
- Support the Head of Communications and Marketing in the execution of the corporate and crisis communications strategy
- Support the Marketing and Events Manager to develop an external and internal events programme to assist in the delivery of the BM's societal and charitable aims for visitors, traders, tenants and staff
- Champion the Borough Market brand including across all social media channels
- Support the Board and Senior Management team (SMT) to build the organisation's brand and values
- Deputise for the Head of Communications and Marketing as required
- Provide guidance and advice to SMT on social media issues
You will need to be a talented and creative social media expert who can help cultivate a thriving culture of engagement across the Market's community of staff, traders and visitors. You will be a team player collaborating with the wider team on creating engaging content to ensure that Borough Market's story is as visible to priority audiences as possible.
Applicants will need to have a strong social media background and creative digital skills. Experience in a similar role or environment as well as outstanding communications skills, a self-starter approach and a keen interest in food and drink are essential.

- Previous experience of working in a PR and social media role with strong creative flair
- Up to date knowledge of all current social media channels for consumer and business audiences
- Extensive social media management experience including experience of working with influencers
- Ability to create and edit persuasive and compelling copy
- Ability to brief external creative resources as well as to film, photograph, and edit required content
- Engagement and networking skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
- Experience of proactively handling of press and media requests
- Solid skills across social media software including video editing and design software such as Adobe and Canva
- A demonstrable passion for and knowledge of the good food sector and sustainable production is extremely desirable and would be a considerable advantage within the role

About the Role
You will be joining at an exciting time for Ataxia UK as we complete our 60th anniversary year.
This is a key role as member of our growing Fundraising & Communications department, responsible for the coordination and delivery of daily communications tasks and the design and creation of marketing assets.
Ataxia UK has a large and engaged community of patients, supporters, volunteers, fundraisers and professionals. The post holder will work with the Communications & Marketing Manager, the Fundraising department and the wider organisation to ensure we reach our networks across social platforms, website, and printed materials with dynamic branded assets. You will coordinate the delivery of the quarterly Ataxia Magazine, liaising with internal and external contributors, designers and printers. Working closely with the Communications & Marketing Manager, you will have the opportunity to help shape Ataxia UK’s new communications and brand strategy.
Ataxia UK operates a hybrid- working policy, with full time staff working 5 days a week expected to work from our offices in Highgate a minimum of 2 days a week. This is adjusted to 1 day per week for part time.
About you
You will be a creative and dedicated individual, with a passion for communications, looking for a new challenge and excited by the opportunity to help shape our new strategy. You will be someone who thrives in a project-management environment and able to work both independently and closely with colleagues and external suppliers.
Organised and details-focused, you are confident across socials, website SEO, CRM and a range of communications software such as Canva, InDesign etc. You will have a keen understanding of how the role can support our fundraising and you will have experience working closely with fundraising teams or on income-generating projects or events. As a key member of the team responsible for our brand and messaging, you will have the skills and experience to ensure we positively represent the interests of the ataxia community, and you will be someone who shares our commitment to supporting those affected by ataxia.

As the new Challenge Events Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing The Passage's Challenge Events Fundraising strategy, designed to inspire and engage both existing and new supporters, ultimately building a stable and sustainable income pipeline.
Over the past year, we have seen significant growth in the number of people wanting to sign up to challenge events and raise money for The Passage and we have ambitious plans as part of our new three-year strategy. This is a new role and an exciting opportunity that will take the lead on our third party and bespoke challenge events. You will bring enthusiasm and experience that aim to raise The Passage’s profile and reach as well as significant income. You’ll manage annual events, test new event concepts and support our growing network of event participants. This is a varied role with lots of potential for growth and development. You will proactively monitor trends and conduct competitor research and analysis to ensure that our event’s portfolio is competitive and attractive to supporters.
You’ll work closely with our Head of Supporter Engagement and Corporate Partnerships team to build and expand our events programme, whilst stewarding existing supporters and engaging new audiences. A key focus of this role is to provide excellent stewardship to boost engagement and optimise fundraising. You will be responsible for overseeing the planning and creation of engaging content for emails to build a strong sense of community. Additionally, you will be responsible for recruiting new supporters, nurturing relationships and providing exceptional stewardship to ensure long-term, reliable support.
