We are hiring an Area Manager to provide management and oversight for services which span across the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC). Our services provide 154 units of accommodation to people experiencing homelessness and have complex needs. The services are 24 hour supported accommodation sites. You will have the overall responsibility to deliver the highest standards of service quality, performance and improvements across your services through excellent leadership and embodiment of our SIG values.

As the Area Manager, you will lead the team to deliver exemplar Trauma Informed support to our residents and participants. The current team you will directly manage:

• Deputy Manager x 3
• Activities Coordinator x 1
• Resettlement Manager x 1

Rota: Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, flexibility required to meet service needs, based across all RBKC services under your area

The in-service leadership team support a team of frontline Support Mentors and Peer Support mentors to deliver dynamic and flexible person centred support aimed at empowering our residents to make and sustain positive change.

OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Line Management and Leadership

• Provide high quality support, leadership and line management to staff, offer guidance, support, and advice to the team and support them to perform to the best of their abilities.
• Provide leadership and management throughout the full employee lifecycle.
• Hold regular one to ones and team meetings to support effective teamwork and communication. Facilitate a culture where constructive challenge is welcomed.
• Proactively embed a culture of learning, development, reflection, and evaluation in a psychologically informed environment.

Service Delivery

• Manage the overall day-to-day operational delivery of your service, working directly with your team, colleagues, residents and participants, as well as other stakeholders to provide a high-quality, holistic service which meets the needs of our residents.
• Ensure service responsibilities and requirements are carried out effectively. This includes but is not limited to; welfare checks, risk assessments, support sessions, safeguarding checks, training and development, and other responsibilities required for effective service delivery.
• Support the team to carry out their day to day duties and responsibilities, offer guidance and support as necessary. 
• Work proactively to ensure the service and team meet and exceed Key Performance Indicators, and work in line with professional codes of conduct.
• Empower residents and participants to make decisions to take control over their lives, by creating an enabling environment.
• Be part of the operational on-call Rota for providing out-of-hours support across the operations directorate.

Risk Management

• Follow relevant risk assessment and management procedures, share relevant information with others as necessary.
• Ensure all case recording and information is accurately recorded in a timely manner, ensuring confidentiality and GDPR.
• Champion, and act as a point of reference for safeguarding concerns within the service(s). Ensure all staff attend relevant safeguarding and training and use knowledge to coach and advise the team.

Property and Housing Management

• Ensure the accommodation in which residents live is clean and maintained to a high standard
• Ensure all repairs and maintenance issues are correctly reported and managed through to completion.
• Ensure a provision of high quality housing management service is provided to residents. 

Financial Management

• Manage the service budget and review monthly management accounts: Set budgets and ensure resources are maximised.
• Promote effective cost control mechanisms and other financial activities.
• Maintain financial management within the service.

Other

• Some of what else is included: Contract management and Internal auditing, admin, and general other duties as required. 

Other responsibilities than those described above may be required to be undertaken from time to time and will be expected to be performed to as long as it is within the capability and level of the position. Please refer to the JDPS attached for more information.

KEY CRITERIA

What we are looking for:

• Understanding and/or experience of working with people of complex backgrounds, ex-offenders, mental health, substance misuse, challenging behaviours
• Experience of working with and engaging with diverse groups of people from varying backgrounds
• Previous experience in people management and development
• IT Proficiency, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to navigate and learn new case management systems and other types of organisational software.
• Ability to promote the service and provide outreach-based provision, with an ability to liaise and work effectively in partnership with stakeholders
• Understanding of Housing Management, including voids and evictions

About the role:

Reporting to the Director of Finance & Operations, the IT Project Manager will lead the scoping, researching, sourcing, design develop and implementation of several new systems relating to CRM, Case Management, Finance and HR.

The IT project manager will also support the Director of Finance & Operations in managing the relationship with the IT Support contract, providing IT support where necessary and in renewing the IASME (Information Assurance for Small and Medium Enterprises) accreditation.

You will have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience and 

A PMP, PRINCE2, Agile or other industry standard Programme or Project Management qualification. A good knowledge of Microsoft Server technologies, 365 admin level experience across Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange Online etc. is essential for the role. Your experience will include supporting network devices and concepts, printers, softphones and other business hardware and software.

The LSO is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Corporate Partnerships Executive (New Business) to lead on identifying and engaging with a new portfolio of prospective corporate supporters, in liaison with the Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager. 

The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager and Director of Development to develop new sponsorship opportunities, taking into account current corporate priorities and sector trends. This is an exciting time to join the team, as we develop our engagement opportunities and memberships to ensure they remain current and attractive in the new climate.

This role is initially on a fixed-term contract basis for 12 months, with the potential to extend.

Key Responsibilities:

Identifying and engaging a new portfolio of prospective corporate supporters
 

• Research and identify possible corporate partners for the LSO, preparing updates to discuss with the wider LSO Corporate Development team 
• Lead on initial contact with cold prospects, securing introductory meetings for the LSO, preparing briefings and attending meetings with a colleague from the Development team 
• Identify possible corporate supporters for particular areas of the LSO’s work, including Barbican concerts, international tours, accessible ticket schemes, education and community projects, major fundraising galas, as well as broader initiatives such as improving sustainability and fulfilling the LSO’s DEI plan
• Utilise LSO concerts at the Barbican and other LSO events to attract new prospects, ensuring that all leads are thoroughly progressed
• Work within the Corporate Development team to develop ongoing cultivation plans for the most promising contacts and prepare compelling proposals as needed, and maintain prospect planning within a wider corporate fundraising strategy
• Work with the Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager to develop new opportunities for support, and build a strong prospect pipeline, taking into account current sponsorship and corporate support trends 
• Keep abreast of trends in corporate partnerships in the arts and the broader charity sector to ensure the LSO continues to offer competitive packages 

We are looking for someone with experience in:

• Identifying and connecting with prospective corporate partners, either in the charity or commercial sector (at least two years experience)
• Writing compelling proposals in response to a business need or objectives
• Pitching and securing mutually beneficial partnerships with potential partners
• Achieving income targets

The Role:

The Partner Engagement Lead is responsible for key account management, and specifically developing and supporting relationships with programme sponsors and partners within the WorldGBC network.

The Partner Engagement Lead will work closely alongside the programme/projects team subject leads, taking responsibility for day to day management of activities that relate to sponsors or stakeholders, including partner relationships, external collaborations and fundraising.

Working cross-functionally within a matrix-style organisation, the Lead will work collaboratively on the engagement pillar of WorldGBC's fundraising team alongside the Partnerships Manager and the Strategic Partnerships Lead. This team coordinates closely with all WorldGBC departments, in particular where sponsors are involved with initial focus on the programme/project partners.

Well-organised and a great communicator, this individual will ensure that key relationships are managed effectively across the organisation, and be detail oriented in their reporting and accounting of opportunities. The Lead should also be willing to represent the organisation in relevant external opportunities relating to the programmes as need arises - including fundraising meetings, external working groups, events or conferences.

The Partner Engagement Lead will report to the Director of Programmes Strategy.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

About the role

Are you an experienced corporate fundraiser with an interest in working in the international development sector? Are you creative, strategic, highly organised, a confident and effective communicator and strong team player? 

We are looking for an experienced Senior Corporate Fundraising Manager to work closely with the Head of Programme Funding to drive new donor engagement and secure sustainable, multi-year funding. About the role 

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic Events Manager to lead on Media Trust’s 2024 calendar of fundraising and industry-facing events, including our upcoming 30th Birthday Fundraising Gala and support with other programme-related events.

Events Management 

• Manage end-to-end delivery of Media Trust events, campaigns and projects of varying size, format and complexity, both in person and virtually

World Child Cancer is seeking an experienced corporate and philanthropy fundraiser to join our growing team and play a vital role in improving the chances of survival and quality of life of children with cancer in under-resourced countries.

About World Child Cancer

Over 400,000 children worldwide develop cancer each year. Childhood cancer is most often curable, with over 80% survival rate in high income countries. However, in many low-and-middle-income countries survival rates are often 25% or lower.

World Child Cancer’s goal is to help redress that inequity and improve the chances of children with cancer to survive and thrive in under-resourced countries. We currently work with local hospitals in 12 countries in Africa, Asia and Mexico to enable children with cancer to have equal access to the best possible treatment and care through awareness raising on signs of childhood cancer, providing financial, logistical and emotional support to address barriers to access treatment, training of healthcare workers and advocacy.

This newly created Senior Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager role will play a key part in raising income from companies and philanthropists to help achieve World Child Cancer’s mission.

You will work with us to plan, design and deliver projects with cross-sector stakeholders, as well as developing reports and other ways to share our findings with members and the wider sector. We need someone who has solid research skills, is a natural collaborator, and can collate and present research in different ways to help us achieve the change that’s needed for Londoners.

This role is crucial in ensuring that we deliver on our ambition to drive a learning culture, where shared data, intelligence and insight leads to better decision-making. This role is initially fixed term for one year, and may be subject to renewal. It reflects our growing commitment to ensuring our work is relevant and responsive to the diverse needs of our members and communities. As this is a newly developed post, we are also looking for someone who can work flexibly and bring ideas to help shape the role, so that it has a lasting impact on the way London Funders works.

So, what sort of work will you be doing? We’ve just committed to a really exciting and crucial piece of research taking place over the next year, where we will work with funders and equity partners to map the current state of funding for equity and justice infrastructure. This will initially focus on London, before we take the approach to cover England and Wales. The work will be used to inform discussions with funders on the strategic development of funding approaches in this critical space. You’ll be leading on the research and developing the workplan in a collaborative approach with our partners.

Alongside this project, your work will explore other aspects of the funding landscape in London and gather insights from across our membership. You’ll work on reports to support our range of thematic networks, and generate new evidence to help inform the work of funders and our partners across sectors. We’re looking for someone who thrives working as part of a small team, as well as working independently, who will suggest solutions to challenges and use their initiative. Someone who wants to help build a better London by taking action on what matters to our city and our communities.

We’re at the heart of a great network of over 170 member organisations, focused on funding in London. This includes every local authority in London, City Hall, independent trusts and foundations, businesses, social investment organisations, housing associations and more. Over the past year we’ve grown in number and have several new programmes of work underway, including an ambitious new collaborative funding programme, Propel. The Research and Evidence Manager comes at a critical time to help us understand and connect the work happening across our membership, and to understand how funders can collectively address the challenges facing Londoners.

Who are we looking for?

Our ideal candidate would be someone who has experience of running multiple research projects at once with strong project management skills, and direct experience designing and leading both qualitative and quantitative projects. You’ll also need to be able to work with different stakeholders to both co-design research approaches as well as facilitate their engagement in helping us learn from and make sense of the findings.  As such you will need a track record of building relationships in a range of contexts and producing and communicating research outputs in a range of different and accessible formats, including presenting to external audiences.

We have just made a permanent change to make our working week to be 32 hours FTE which enables staff to work a four day week alongside other more flexible work patterns. Whilst we are a small team, we share an office with our friends at Trust for London. There is flexibility about the hours for this role, so it would be available on a part-time or full-time basis (with a minimum of 24 hours per week, or 0.75 FTE). The skills, experience, insights and inspiration you will bring to the role are more important to us, so we'll do what we can to accommodate your preferred working pattern.

The salary is £36,400 per year (or pro rata if you choose part-time) and is a fixed term contract for one year, with the possibility of becoming permanent. From the first day of employment you will be entitled to Health Cover and Life Insurance as part of our staff benefits package. On completion of your probation period you’ll also be able to access our other employee benefits including our Cycle2Work scheme and mobile months together with volunteering days and a generous annual leave allowance.
