About the role
Come and join our small but brilliant Membership and Learning team. We have an ambitious strategy to strengthen the network through growing a culture of continuous learning, improving member insight and developing targeted learning.
We’re looking for someone who can support the team to develop, co-create, train and deliver inclusive and exciting learning that encourages creativity, curiosity and critical thinking in the areas of philanthropy and grant making. COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER

Job Title: Communications Officer

Hours: 21 – 35 hours. The role can be delivered on either a P/T basis (minimum of 21 hrs) or F/T of 35 hrs (generally 9.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday). The role can also be delivered on a Job Share basis. The role will require occasional working outside normal hours.

The Role
Reporting to the Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager, the Corporate Partnerships Manager will generate income and impact for the Stroke Association by identifying and winning new partnerships with businesses that have an affinity to our cause.
There will also be an opportunity to manage and uplift some of our existing partnerships, helping to ensure that we’re optimising every opportunity with our warmest supporters, driving greater engagement, commitment and income.

About You
We need someone with creativity and flair. Someone who can marshal emotions, facts and figures to help us put stroke on the map. An ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders to articulate the value of corporate partnerships to all parties will be crucial.
You will have a proven track record of:
· Securing and/or managing partnerships (in the charitable or private sector) worth £6-figure+ sums across a variety of income streams e.g. strategic, Charity of the Year, sponsorship
· Making successful cold approaches to potential supporters/clients

Background and role purpose
Consortium hosts the largest network of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans + groups, projects and organisations in the UK (600 members) and offers a range of support so that they can deliver vital support and services to over 5 million LGBT+ people, their friends and families. We are also a specialist grant funder, having provided over £1.75m in grants since 2019, across 275 awards, with this being an exciting area of growth falling within the remit of this role.
We are recruiting for a Head of Partnerships and Development who will support our charity, and the LGBT+ sector, to continue growth in an appropriate and sustainable way. We are seeking an excellent relationship builder who can help us maximise our ability to generate positive social impact through relationship-building and fundraising skills.
As Head of Partnerships & Development you will be responsible for managing key business partnerships, identifying new potential income streams (for Consortium & the LGBT+ sector), and exploring opportunities to increase the impact of our work.
You will devise creative and innovative strategies including campaigns with partners, liaising with corporate contacts and building and developing relationships with new key stakeholders.

Purpose of role
We are currently seeking a Project Manager in Philanthropy, whose primary objective is to assist the Senior Philanthropy Advisors (SPA) in securing essential funding to combat global climate change. Primary responsibilities
Strategic support of primary donor portfolio (70%)
Donor deliverables (50%)
· Project manage donor deliverables and other donor-related work streams as defined by strategies set by SPAs, including but not limited to developing and managing or leading work plans, timelines, and tracking status of all the moving parts to meet internal and external deadlines.
· Negotiate project timelines and gather input from colleagues to design project plans.
· Serve as a thought partner to SPAs on donor strategies.
· Liaise with members of the Global Climate Strategies, Communications, and Operations teams to ensure effective collaboration on donor deliverables and products.
· Tap the Knowledge Management System to field simple donor-related SPA needs (e.g., pulling final donor products by theme).

Special projects that scale our donor work and advance team goals (30%)
· Contribute to special projects as assigned including but not limited to project management support for Ambassadors, select events, proactive products, and priority big bets; building and maintaining the Philanthropy Team strategic playbook and cascading learnings in partnership with the Deputy Managing Director, and supporting pipeline development in key regions.

The Trust funds research into treatments and a cure for cystic fibrosis, provides support and advice for people with the condition and their families, and campaigns for better healthcare and funding for cystic fibrosis services. The Trust also works to raise awareness of cystic fibrosis and the challenges faced by people with the condition.
This role sits in the Philanthropy and Corporate Partnerships team and will work closely with the Senior Philanthropy Manager (Trusts) and the Trusts and Statutory Manager to help the team achieve its plans for growth.
The main purpose of this role is to build relationships with and grow income from charitable trusts and corporate foundations to support the Cystic Fibrosis Trust’s strategic aims.
You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of trusts up to the midlevel range with the possibility of working with the team on higher level proposals where opportunities arise.
As Trusts and Foundations Fundraising Officer, you will:
- Identify and develop new trusts relationships to increase the prospect base for the Trust
- Build on existing pipelines and working with the prospect researcher to develop a strong pipeline of trusts and foundations at 4- and 5-figure level
- Work collaboratively across the organisation to maximise the fundraising opportunities presented by existing and new programme and research activities
- Develop and implement key donor cultivation plans to ensure opportunities are maximised
Ideal skills and experience:
- Experience raising funds from trusts and/or foundations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written
- Experience of researching and developing relationships with senior stakeholders, and current and prospective funding partners
- Corporate foundations fundraising experience desirable, but not essential
- Passionate about supporting CFT’s work

About the opportunity
'The Leeds' does things differently. They're a pioneering organisation when it comes to environmental sustainability (aiming to be the world's first carbon neutral piano competition by 2024) and proactively working towards greater gender equality for women.
Following a comprehensive independent review in 2023, LIPC has developed an evidence-based case for support which aims to build a £10m endowment over the next 5-10 years and diversify income streams to raise the £2.5m funding for the core costs of a 3-year programme. It's anticipated that funding will come from philanthropists in Yorkshire, London and the global piano-loving community, particularly in East Asia (Hong Kong/ Singapore) and potentially in the US.
About the role
As Director of Development, you'll provide inspirational leadership to enable and empower LIPC to develop strategic philanthropic relationships, both here in the UK and internationally.
Key tasks on your agenda will include:
* Propose and implement agreed fundraising strategy for the future endowment campaign and triennial operating costs.
* Build strong relationships with the key stakeholders, internally and externally.
* Establish personal credibility and working relationships with executive team and Trustees.
* Work closely with the Development Committee to approach and secure existing and potential new donors.
* Provide leadership and pastoral support to a Fundraising Manager and continue to build fundraising skills for the core team.
About you
You're a confident and highly-skilled philanthropy professional with a personal track-record securing high-value gifts at seven figures, working with both major donors and trusts and foundations.
You elegantly and effectively balance strategic thinking with operational hands-on fundraising, and you still get a kick from 'doing the doing'. Adept at managing and stewarding complex relationships with stakeholders and funders, you bring people together towards a shared vision and common goals.
We're looking for a talented and nurturing leader, who works with emotional intelligence and nuance when it comes to collaboration with individuals and teams at all levels.
