Job description

IAG Delivery and line management

· To be accountable for achieving agreed outcomes, outputs and personal targets – including recruitment, employability training and learner progression targets

· To manage a caseload of participants requiring Information, Advice & Guidance (IAG), confidence building and employability training

· Completing appropriate action plans and reviews with participants

· To act as the single point of contact for small caseload of participants

The Finance Systems Analyst is a newly created role which will have responsibility for the efficient running and maintenance of ClientEarth’s finance systems, including Access Focal Point- which has been in use for over five years and Workday Adaptive Planning, a new system for the organisation. Role Context

This role sits in the Trust’s Business Development/Nature Based Solutions (NBS) team, an innovative new team focused on county wide recovery and green finance investment within the county of Surrey. This role will also manage the Trusts internal and external processes around Green Finance and drive forward investment in nature at a landscape level.

GRT are looking for an experienced, passionate and delivery focused Finance Manager to join our team in Birmingham. You will join us on a full-time basis as part of an initial one-year fixed term contract with a view to progressing into a permanent role. GRT’s aim is to eradicate poverty by providing humanitarian aid, relief and providing sustainable programmes to the needy across the globe. 

The ideal candidate will have a have a genuine understanding of, and commitment to, the aims and values of the GRT to implement the financial policies whilst working to support our dynamic teams. The Finance Manager will report directly to the CEO.

The Finance Manager will be responsible for preparing financial statements, overseeing monthly management accounts, managing payroll operations, handling accounts payable and receivable, and preparing the annual budget.

Main Responsibilities:

· Ensuring that financial and accounting services adhere to legal standards and contribute to the smooth operation of GRT activities.

· Annually reviewing and updating of all finance related policies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

1. Work with the Chief Executive and Grants Funding Manager to match potential funders to forthcoming programmes.  

2. Write applications to a selection of potential funders, developing relationships with grants managers.

3. Understand and communicate SLAs and design relevant data capture with our Programme Team.  

4. Schedule all reporting requirements and ensure that donors are communicated with in a timely way, using their preferred methods.  

5. Design data collection tools such as questionnaires, write and update monitoring and evaluation resources for our youth work team.  

6. Analyse data and write into easy-to-understand reports.  

7. Participate in budget meetings with the Programme Team and Finance Manager to ensure programme budgets are met.  

8. Develop strong relationships with our partner organisations, collaborating on shared projects and attending meetings. 

9. Take the lead role in ensuring the youthwork database (Plinth) is maintained and kept up to date, and reports are produced for CE and trustees. 

10. Support the Fundraising Team on fundraising activities where necessary. 

The job is not limited to the above duties, as the organisation develops and at different times of the year the priorities may shift leading to additional reasonable responsibilities as the role requires.

1. Minimum of 3 years' experience in charity fundraising or impact evaluation. 

2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

3. Outgoing personality with the ability to build positive working relationships with staff, trustees and other key stakeholders.

About Our Client

The Director of Finance is responsible for the financial management of St George's Weybridge, a £30m business with over 500 staff. The post holder will fulfil a wide range of responsibilities and roles in connection with the financial strategy, accounting and general financial management of the School. The post is the most senior finance professional on the staff and reports directly to the Bursar, who is effectively the CFO/COO. As such, the Director of Finance has frequent direct contact with Governors and the Heads and attends the Governors' Finance and Risk Committee meetings.

The Director of Finance is a member of the Business Senior Management Team and leads a team of 8 staff, comprising the Management Accountant, Payroll and People Accountant, Fees Controller, Interim Project Accountant, Purchase Ledger Assistant and two Finance Assistants. A new role of Financial Accountant has been established and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to influence this role and appointment.

Job Description

• Formulate the financial strategy of the School alongside Governors and the Executive Leadership Team (consisting of the two Heads and the Bursar).
• Attend meetings of the Finance and Risk Committee of the Board of Governors, preparing financial reports and papers and leading on financial items tabled for discussion or decision.
• Attend and contribute to ad-hoc Governor meetings and discussions as required.
• Alongside the Bursar and the Heads, implement the School's strategic financial plans.
• Work closely with ELT to formulate operational spending plans and priorities.

• Maintain, review and ensure compliance with the School's Financial Procedures Manual.
• Preparation of internal financial management reports, accounts and briefing papers, including monthly management accounting information to include cash flow statements and forecasts.
• Control of the treasury management function in order to ensure the most efficient and secure deployment of cash.
• Ensuring compliance with external regulators, including HMRC, the Charity Commission and Companies House.
• Being responsible for accurate and timely tax returns and tax reclaims, with professional advice where necessary, preparing recommendations for mitigating potential VAT and any other tax liabilities.

The Successful Applicant

• Formal Accounting qualification and experience of working in the commercial, educational or charity sectors.
• Experience of compliance with legislation and regulations relevant to the position
