About the role
Based in the PDT team this role will contribute towards Your Place’s overarching mission to end homelessness one person at a time and meet organisational KPI’s around outcome based contracts.
In response to an increasing proportion of residents who have been referred to us holding refugee status we are seeking to develop our supported accommodation services to meet the particular needs of this group.
This role will be responsible for developing our services to make them more accessible to our resident population who are from a migrant background. This includes:
- Developing our move on offer to residents from a migrant background including the design and delivery of move on training in particular ensuring that they have a realistic understanding of the housing market and to provide the appropriate support to enable them to maintain accommodation in future.
- The development of bespoke accommodation pathways and support to ensure that barriers that migrants face within housing market are overcome.
- To identify and liaise with reputable private sector landlords including on issues such as rent, housing standards and tenure.
- Working with Frontline Services colleagues to improve accessibility and cultural relevance of services to resident from a migrant background that promotes inclusivity and is trauma informed.
- To provide additional support to Housing Service team around Clearing House referrals where appropriate.

Responsibilities
- To work with residents/tenants to develop culturally accessible resources to prepare them for a move to appropriate accommodation, including advice and support on move-on accommodation, rent deposit schemes, understanding tenancies, budgeting, accessing utilities and services, and accessing welfare/housing benefits and grants.
- Identify and liaise with landlords, building relationships to secure move on accommodation for residents. Negotiate reasonable rents and deposit/advance payments.
- Receive details of appropriate properties from landlords, view property for suitability and carry out Health & Safety check.
- Ensure that properties meet relevant standards for safe occupancy (Housing Health & Safety Rating Systems, LA Licencing).
- Identify suitable residents; prepare them and their paperwork which includes Housing Benefit, deposits, loan applications, Discretionary Housing Payments. Arranging viewings.
- Develop networks of migrant support which contributes towards this migrant move on pathway. Act as a broker to facilitate access to relevant services.
- Working in conjunction with the Resettlement Officer supporting residents into their own accommodation arranging utilities connections, supporting resident access to furniture/furnishings, moving resident or supporting to move their belongings. Liaison with landlord for access. Managing expectations of both resident and landlord. Identify and apply for grants for move on funds for residents.
- Where residents have additional support or care needs to lead and co-ordinate on finding specialist accommodation.
- Keep up to date and inform team on changes in law, local authority conditions and benefits that affect move on. Respond to changes and implement strategy.

Experience
- Experience of housing support with people with a migrant background.

Skills & knowledge
- Good understanding of private rented sector accommodation and good practice in relation to move on accommodation.
- Good understanding of the challenges migrants experience within the housing market, in particular within private rented sector.
- A working knowledge of being able to support clients into supported accommodation and/or other floating support services, with a demonstrable understanding of Housing and other related legislation.
- Multi-lingual in East African languages.

We're looking for someone with experience of verging or similar church support work. Good social skills are essential as is the ability to work as part of a team as well as on your own initiative. The ability to work closely with and relate well to all Cathedral staff, ministry team, congregation, volunteers, visitors, and members of the general public will also be required.
The two Assistant Vergers and Precinct Officers carry out a wide range of duties under the direction of the Head Verger and Precinct Manager. Work includes: the careful setting up and delivery of all liturgical matters; ensuring a welcoming, clean, and safe environment for all working in, visiting, or using the Cathedral and Cathedral House and precinct and ensuring the day-to-day smooth running of the Cathedral for all.

Key responsibilities:
General Administration
• Provide administrative support to the FLEX team/Board including organising meetings, taking minutes, booking travel and accommodation

Building Tomorrow – Neighbourhood Housing Project Lead
Oasis exists to build stronger communities where there is no one left out. Building Tomorrow is an innovative new neighbourhood housing programme that Oasis is developing in Sheffield and Scunthorpe.
We are pioneering a new community-led solution to housing challenges in two communities where Oasis already works, running five schools and two community Hubs. We are working to develop quality housing that offers opportunity for families to find a stable and supportive place of belonging in community.
The programme will combine quality housing, excellent education (provided through Oasis academies), and community wrap-around support (delivered through our existing youth and community teams). This programme is designed to offer a preventative approach to housing challenges, acting as a proof of concept that can be replicated in other communities around the country.
This role will act as the central point of coordination which will ensure Building Tomorrow moves successfully from initiation to full activation over the initial 18-month period. In the activation period, we will purchase and refurbish the 20 properties, and this role will work in close coordination with our property consultants. As properties are purchased, we will begin to move into the delivery phase, where we start to house families.

What will you do?
The key areas of responsibility for the role are as follows:
· To act as the main link between all stakeholders: the Oasis teams including academies; contractors; and any community partners. To make sure everyone is communicating effectively and working toward the same goal.
· To work in close collaboration with Oasis Community Leaders in Sheffield and Scunthorpe. To support the Community Leaders and wider community teams to welcome families by acting as a key part of the community support offer through the 18-month activation phase.
· To own the 18-month master plan. This will involve tracking progress, analysing potential delays, and proactively solving problems so the activation stays on time and on budget.
· To focus on transitioning the housing element from a period of acquisition and refurbishment into functioning homes. This includes everything from smooth resident move-ins to ensuring the community support is fully accessible.
· To work alongside colleagues in the Operations Group to design operational processes including the community support offer, housing management systems, and tenancy arrangements.
· To help the team set clear, achievable goals for the activation period and then track whether those goals are being met, providing regular, honest updates to all stakeholders.
· To support the Group CEO in liaising with our social investor.

Summary
This is a unique opportunity to join one of the oldest charities in the UK in a flexible, part time general managerial capacity, supporting the Trustees. The ideal candidate will have a professional qualification in accounting, property or the law and is comfortable working with professional advisers across all these disciplines. The appointment of this senior role arises by the retirement of the current incumbent, and the role offers a competitive rate which will depend on qualifications and experience.
Background
The King Henry VIII Endowed Trust, founded in 1545, holds a portfolio of c. £80m in Equities, Bonds, Land and Commercial Property, part of the Total Return from which (£2.5m in 2025) is distributed in Warwick in accordance with its Charity Commission Scheme, as follows:
· 50% Anglican churches in Warwick and Budbrooke
· 30% Warwick Schools Foundation - means tested bursaries and community activities
· 20% as grants for the “benefit of the inhabitants of Warwick”
The Trust has up to 12 trustees (4 nominated, 8 co-opted), who meet quarterly. At present, there is a Clerk & Receiver (role being renamed to COO), a deputy Clerk (who deals mainly with grants and organising meetings) and an accountant – all part-time and self-employed.
The current Clerk is retiring and is a Chartered Accountant who has held the role for 16 years, during which time the Trust has gone through a period of change. The Trust is now in a stable stage, where the priorities are managing our financial, land and property assets in order to maintain our distribution. The role is being renamed to Chief Operating Officer to better reflect the role, and would ideally remain a self-employed role.
The typical work load is likely to require about 10-15 hours per week, which fluctuates and is focused around the quarterly meeting and annual accounts. There is potential for 2 areas of land to be included in the local plan which will create additional opportunities.
Role specifics
Financial Investments
· Liaise with the investment managers (Currently: CCLA, Navera, Savills, Royal London)
· Manage any short-term deposits with HSBC
Property
· Liaise with property advisers (Margetts and Cushman & Wakefield) to manage the Trust’s property (currently an office block, a pub, a shooting range and 3 blocks of farm land)
· Oversee St Mary’s Rectory. This is owned by the Trust and is provided free of charge to the incumbent at St Mary’s, through an agreement with the Coventry Diocese.
· Ensure any property sales or leases operate within charity law.
· Where land is in the Local Plan, work with advisers and/or promoters to obtain the best commercial deal.
Charity Commission
· Manage any changes required to the Trust’s Charity Commission Schemes and Orders.
· Ensure that the Trust operates within the limitations of these Schemes and Orders.
· Annual Returns
· Manage information on Charity Commission website
Beneficiaries
· Quarterly distributions – calculation and payment
· Liaise with beneficiaries as necessary
· Prepare reports for Trustees as required (e.g. Annual Grants Report, which will include analysis of other Warwick endowed charities and Annual review of Church accounts)

The Destitution Caseworker is a full-time post at the JRS UK offices in Wapping with regular visits to our houses in South London. The post-holder will be joining the Advice and Casework Team, a small and diverse team of Caseworkers, Befriending and Practical Support Coordinator and volunteers.
The Advice and Casework Team provides refugee friend led advice and casework, supported by the practical offering of hardship payments, regular mobile phone top-ups, and befriending. We also provide temporary accommodation through our hosting scheme 'At Home’ which has operated since 2012. Additionally, we also offer support through our 10- bedroom house for women and 6 – bedroom house for men in South London.
This role is busy and varied, with a focus on combining accompaniment with advice and practical support and assistance particularly to those in our accommodation project. The postholder will provide in-depth and proactive support on a broad range of issues including destitution and homelessness; access to legal advice; asylum support and health related matters. The postholder will utilise relationships with NGOs and specialist agencies, signposting and making referrals as appropriate.
They will be responsible for managing their own caseload and will support with the smooth running of the accommodation project and other aspects of the wider team.
The postholder should have a good working knowledge and empathy of the issues and challenges faced by destitute asylum-seekers and refugees, with particular focus on destitution, homelessness and access to immigration advice. They will need highly developed listening skills, personal resilience, and emotional maturity to respond to the emotional and practical needs of asylum seekers, accompany them and support them to positively progress with their lives. They need to have and maintain an up-to-date knowledge about the immigration and asylum context as it relates to our work with destitute refugees.

Ella’s is a London-based organisation working with women who have survived trafficking and sexual exploitation. Our mission is to do everything we can to ensure survivors have all they need to recover and build lives that are safe and free.
Here is a summary of our main activities:

We run six safe houses. This supported accommodation is crucial for survivors, until they are ready and able to live independently.

We provide regular support for women and families in neighbourhoods across London, and many more further afield when they need us.

We speak out on issues affecting the women we work with. We care deeply about survivors of trafficking and exploitation and want to see a world where these crimes are not tolerated.
