As our Administrator, you’ll be the friendly first point of contact for our visitors. Whether it’s answering calls, replying to emails, or welcoming guests with a smile. 

You’ll keep things running smoothly behind the scenes too, helping with bookings, organising paperwork, and making sure the right information gets to the right people.

No two days are the same – one moment you might be updating records, the next you could be assisting with promoting the work of the learning location and its programmes to potential customers.

About the Role:

What You’ll Be Doing:

Reception Duties:  

This role is responsible for creating and maintaining a welcoming, safe and friendly atmosphere for service users, visitors, volunteers and staff members. This role is responsible for maintaining front of house, welcoming visitors, clients and guests, answering enquiries over the phone, via email and in person. 

Facilities Duties 

Liaising with Facilities Manager and supporting with facilities duties such as scheduling and supporting with internal and external room bookings, coordinating scheduled works and ensuring access for maintenance and external contractors as required. 

Administrative Duties:  

This person will play a key role in administering certain financial duties and assisting the Head of Finance and Resource with their reporting duties, keeping the organisation running in a smooth and efficient manner. 

Support the Wider Snowdrop Team:  

To work with the team to coordinate excellent service delivery and support for volunteers and service users in line with the Mission, Vision and Values of the Snowdrop Project. This can include participating in team meetings, away days and supporting and promoting internal activities, creating content for internal and external activities as required.

Location: Home-based with frequent travel to internal and external events, networking and other meetings in London and occasionally across the UK.  Regular international travel will also be required. All staff meetings are held in our ReStore, Romford.

Job Purpose

To support Habitat for Humanity GB’s (Habitat GB) vision of a decent home for everyone, our National Strategy 2024-2027 identifies two key goals:  to (1) ‘develop, pursue and share innovative solutions to increase access to decent, safe, affordable homes for communities across Great Britain’; and to (2) ‘form a diverse coalition that champions the universal right to decent homes and collaborates to implement effective housing solutions for underserved communities worldwide’. The Director of Impact & Influence has responsibilities which contribute to the achievement of both these goals and is accountable for co-leading Goal 2 with the Director of Fundraising & Partnerships. They work collaboratively across the organisation, with Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) and other Habitat global network members, and with a wide range of external partners.

Key responsibilities include the cultivation and stewardship of FOI (Foundations, Organisations & Institutions) partnerships and funding, leading the achievement of ambitious income targets related to donors based in England, Scotland and Wales on behalf of Habitat GB and the Habitat global network. The Impact & Influence Team also serves as the unit responsible for programme quality and effectiveness across the full lifecycle:  from design and innovation, through implementation, to evaluation and learning, including high quality proposal development, robust Monitoring and Evaluation (MEAL) frameworks, grant management policy and process across the organisation, and the direct delivery of reporting and compliance requirements to FOI funders.

The Director of Impact & Influence also leads Habitat GB’s domestic and international advocacy function, leveraging our research and programmatic insights to drive systemic and policy change in line with our mission and strategy. As an external representative, the Director develops Habitat GB’s role as a thought leader to increase our influence on policy & decision makers and credibility with partners, communities and other collaborators.

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), the Director of Impact & Influence helps ensure the impact, sustainability, diligence and productivity of the organisation, including engaging in organisational transformation, within the framework of a values-led approach to people and culture approach.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Organisational Delivery

• Provide strategic leadership for the development and delivery of Habitat GB’s impact and influence agenda, co-leading the achievement of organisational strategic goals, in particular our goal of forming a diverse coalition that champions the universal right to decent homes and collaborates to implement effective housing solutions for underserved communities worldwide.
• Working with the National Director, lead on the development and ongoing review of HFHGB’s National Strategy, as well as our engagement with strategic development at global and regional levels.
• Co-lead Habitat GB’s ambitious funding and partnership strategy in support of impactful domestic and international programme portfolios.
• Shape and drive delivery across Habitat GB’s five strategic enablers, ensuring high-quality programmes, coalitions and networks, organisational visibility, technical leadership, and internal capacity for learning and innovation.
• Lead the development, delivery and continuous improvement of a robust organisational performance framework, with monthly/quarterly KPI reporting into SLT and Board governance.
• Cultivate a learning culture that embraces innovation, adapts to external trends, and enhances the organisation’s ability to respond to complex challenges.
• Champion inclusive, accessible, and culturally sensitive programming, in line with Habitat GB’s mission and values.

Partnership Development & Fundraising

• Lead the development and stewardship of strategic partnerships with Foundations, Organisations and Institutions (FOIs) across England, Scotland, and Wales to secure income and achieve impact targets.
• Be accountable for delivering annual FOI income and pipeline targets agreed in the Performance Framework, including soft‑commitments and conversion, quarterly phasing, proposal volume/quality, and donor reporting timeliness.
• Represent HFHGB in national and international fundraising initiatives, influencing stakeholder engagement on behalf of the global Habitat for Humanity network.
• Collaborate with the Fundraising & Partnerships (F&P) team to develop compelling funding propositions, donor reports, and stakeholder engagement strategies.
• Jointly develop and lead a resource mobilisation plan with the Directors of Programme Delivery and F&P, aligned with the Habitat GB Domestic Programme Strategy, with agreed annual income and impact targets.
• Build internal capacity across the network to engage with locally based partners, navigating sector themes such as shifting power and decolonisation.
• Identify and lead opportunities for research, consortia collaboration, and development partnerships to enhance programming and learning.

Programme Quality, Proposal Development & Grant Management

• Lead the Impact & Influence team in managing the full programme lifecycle — from strategy and design through delivery, evaluation, and learning.
• Work with technical leads to ensure appropriate inputs throughout the full programme lifecycle, for example in relation to gender, climate and safeguarding.
• Ensure robust programme design, effective MEAL frameworks, and compliance with funder requirements.
• Oversee proposal development and grant management policies and processes to ensure high-quality submissions and timely reporting. Collaborate with other teams for consistent compliance and quality.
• Maintain oversight of programme budgets through design phases, regular reviews and reporting including cost recovery, risk and performance, compliance and other standards.
• Work closely with the Director of Finance, Operations & Compliance to track performance and contribute to high quality reporting, income forecasting and budget management.
• Lead GB adoption of refreshed HFH Core Programming Standards and ensure programme reviews update Habitat GB policies, protocols and practice accordingly.
• Establish and embed MEAL frameworks with Programme Delivery and Retail teams to track outcomes and inform advocacy and fundraising.
• Respond proactively to humanitarian and sector-specific challenges with adaptive programme design and collaboration.

Advocacy & Policy Influence

• Be accountable for the successful delivery of Habitat GB’s domestic and international advocacy strategies, translating programme insights into policy influence and systemic change.
• Represent the organisation in policy forums, coalitions, and sector platforms; strengthen Habitat GB’s role as a thought leader and credible policy influencer with key stakeholders, decision‑makers and communities and elevate HFHGB’s voice in housing and international development.
• Guide the work of UK and Global Advocacy Managers, embedding advocacy as a core mechanism for mission-led impact.
• Strengthen external visibility and influence through partnerships and collaborations aligned with advocacy goals.

Leadership and people management:

• Lead, inspire, and manage a high-performing Impact & Influence team, aligning to Habitat GB’s strategic goals and values.
• Set clear team objectives, KPIs and quality standards, encourage a culture of feedback and collaboration, and support continuous professional development.
• Ensure team activities and performance are effectively resourced and managed within agreed budgets.
• Deliver consistent 1:1s, wellbeing check‑ins, mid‑year and annual reviews; foster a supportive team culture where kindness, ambition, and accountability drive high performance and meaningful impact, through online and in‑person team‑building.
• Role model our values in line with Habitat GB’s inclusive approach to people and culture.

Organisational Leadership:

• Support the National Director in delivering Habitat GB’s strategy and vision acting as a collaborative and supportive member of a shared leadership team.
• As a core member of the Senior Leadership Team, contribute to cross-organisational strategy, delivery, and decision-making.
• Be an active leader across the organisation, collaborating effectively with teams, and contributing fully to organisational wide initiatives and opportunities.
• Co-create ways of working to enable an adaptive, collaborative and high performing organisational team.
• Represent impact and influence metrics and performance in governance forums, including at Board level.
• Represent Habitat GB externally at senior forums and deputise for the National Director when required.

Person profile:

• Significant senior leadership experience with a strong track record in strategic planning, programme delivery, and team leadership in complex or networked organisations.
• Proven experience in designing and overseeing high-impact programmes, including development and implementation of impact frameworks and MEAL systems.
• Demonstrable success in securing large-scale funding from institutional donors and large trusts and foundations, including leading successful bids and managing multi-sector consortia.
• In-depth knowledge of fundraising strategy and donor engagement across multiple fundraising streams (institutional, philanthropic, etc.).
• Strong financial acumen: business planning, budget management, cost recovery, and oversight of restricted and unrestricted funding.
• Demonstrated experience in leading or contributing to impactful advocacy strategies and engaging with policy and decision-makers.

Skills and competencies:

• Outstanding interpersonal, influencing, and networking skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across diverse stakeholders and cultures.

Job Summary:

The Care Quality Improvement Lead will further model and develop our Relationship Centred Care (RCC) practice based within the context of individually tailored care in a homely environment, and seeks to provide the highest quality of evidenced based care with the involvement of all Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) members working to support the goals, wishes and independence of each resident.

This role is vital in providing leadership to support the registered managers in both homes, the household Managers/Leads and other Nursing departments, supporting the vision of Nightingale Hammerson (NGH) to become a centre of excellence and a Care Home Education Centre (CHEC).

 To ensure that all Fundamental standards from CQC and other Local Authority bodies are implemented and evidenced in practice.

To support the Director of Care and registered managers in overall strategic, operational, clinical and management responsibilities within the 5 year operational plan for NGH.

To be a source of specialist nursing, palliative and dementia care advice to colleagues and staff across all services. To create a culture of innovation, creativity and learning in delivering therapies services across the organisation.

To lead in evidence based practice in rehabilitation, goal attainment, dementia and end of life care whilst providing/facilitating education, coaching and training to staff in NGH.

To liaise, integrate and co-ordinate internal care services with other professionals in relation to admissions, discharges between services and developing care plans to support residents with their wellbeing.

To support and facilitate research projects in partnership with selected universities and care organisations.

To support the implementation NGH’s organisation’s 5 year strategic goals. This will include the Care Home Education Centre, workforce management & development and succession planning.

To promote NGH values whilst contributing to the vision and mission of the organisation.

To fully participate in the implementation and development of the Quality Assurance Framework for the organisation.

Key competences and responsibilities:

1. Principle Responsibilities

To undertake all the required duties, responsibilities and accountabilities in Regulation 6 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2010 and ensure that the Essential Standards of Quality and Safety 2010 and Care Act 2014 are embedded, adhered to and enhanced wherever achievable in every aspect of the delivery of NGH care services.

To work in direct partnership with the Director of Care Services and registered managers to ensure both homes are covered by senior clinical leads at all times. This may mean covering the Director of Care or registered managers when absent.

To take overall leadership and responsibility, for the assessment, planning and delivery of safe and effective clinical and social care for all residents and their families on the households.

Lead and manage the team of Household Managers.

Lead and support the knowledge and skills development related to caring for those with signs of emerging and diagnosed with dementia.

Ensure that the NGH Care Quality Improvement Board (CQIB) framework is embedded and understood at appropriate levels and all care practises are delivered within this framework

Champion a robust care/clinical supervision programmes and participate as appropriate as both a supervisor and supervisee.

Ensure, in liaison with the HR team and Education & Development Lead, Household Managers, Senior Lead nurses, that a fit for purpose education & development programme is in place, managed and delivered for all care team members.

Ensure that there are appropriately skilled and supported designated NGH care leads for the following:

Ø Safe medicines management

Ø Safeguarding

Ø Infection Control

Ø Deprivation of Liberty

Ø Nutrition, Hydration & Tissue Viability

Ø Falls Prevention

Ø Gold Standards Framework for Palliative Care

Ø Research and development

 To act at all times as an ambassador for Nightingale Hammerson and its services.​

2. Leadership and Management

a. Effectively lead, and be accountable for the assessment, planning and delivery of safe and effective clinical and social care for all residents and their families.

b. Be accountable through your team for the selection, induction and continuous performance assessment of all care team members, supporting and developing NGH performance procedures. Ensure the NMC Code of Conduct is upheld by all.

c. Take the lead responsibility for ensuring the monitoring of planned performance management is maintained through the supervision process, and where appropriate support or lead the management of poor performance, capability and competence concerns.

d. Take responsibility for the annual proposal of the staffing establishment and skill mix, and the operational escalation and de-escalation staffing policy. Ensure the staffing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met and reported accurately and on time.

e. Ensure that appropriate mechanisms exist for active and effective communication within and across NGH and monitored for effectiveness.

f. Lead by example, proactive liaison with all associated external agencies and stakeholders in relation to the services offered by NGH. Attend external forums as appropriate. Develop and support external forum and professional clinical meeting participation by your senior nursing team.

g. Ensure that the Jewish culture is understood, respected and is observed by all, particularly regarding the Sabbath and other Festivals, food rules and care at the time of a resident’s death.

h. To be responsible for the compilation, review and management of trends analysis of accidents, incidents and complaints.

i. To take the lead role in developing and applying the NGH Quality Assurance Framework, ensuring that the audit cycle is fulfilled and the whole team are encouraged, trained and supported to undertake audit programmes as appropriate. Ensure the evaluation of all audits is effectively and objectively undertaken and change of practise is implemented.

j. Ensure through your senior team that the systematic KPI requirements are measured, reported, analysed and actioned appropriately;

k. To be accountable through your team for the maintenance of a safe and homely environment for all residents, staff and visitors, ensuring all NGH Health and safety policies and procedures are adhered to and compliance monitored. 

l. To take responsibility for delegated care service budget within NGH ensuring month by month accountability, supporting quarterly forecast and supporting annual budget planning.

3. Clinical Accountabilities

a. To ensure that your immediate senior nursing care team (household managers) maintain an appropriate balance between administrative and managerial responsibilities and clinical practise. Ensuring that opportunities are taken by the senior care team to observe, assess and mentor all elements of care practise within the team including care at night.

b. To be accountable for the timely and clinically satisfactory management of all primary assessments for all new residents, and on-going reviews for all residents.

c. To ensure that your senior team are maintaining their responsibility for the supervision and assessment of all resident’s day to day care needs, and the quality of all care plans, ensuring they are up to date, person centred, accurate and implemented appropriately.

d.To be accountable for the safe admission, transfer and discharge planning for residents for planned, emergency and short stay situations; ensuring that the development implementation and monitoring all documentation and procedures to support this is managed by your senior care team.

e. To be accountable for the standards of record keeping and the management of health records in accordance with NGH policy, NMC guidelines, Relationship Centred Care (RCC) principles, and CQC requirements. Ensure the education of all care staff in relation to care record keeping is maintained.

f. To be accountable for the safe custody and administration of all nursing medications in accordance with NGH policy and procedure, RCC principles, NMC code of conduct and CQC regulations.

g. Ensure that the training and practise of all RNs and trained carers in the safe administration and custody of all medications is maintained and monitored regularly and within the care governance framework.

h. To be accountable for ensuring that all care practises adhere without exception to the NGH Safeguarding Adults policy, procedures and guidelines, in line with that of the Local Adult Safeguarding Board.

i. To be responsible for the overview of the contracts provided to nursing by the contracted medical teams. Ensure a positive and proactive operational relationship is maintained with the contracted GPs and ANPs by your senior care teams and the RN’s

To work directly with the Head of Activities/Therapies to ensure that effective relationships are maintained with the Therapy, Activities, Volunteers and Care Teams in order to maximise the life opportunities of all residents, and developing of all care staff in the delivery of the activities programme.

k. Be accountable for the development of the multidisciplinary team in promoting effective communication for the continuous delivery of high quality person centred care.

l. To foster through your senior team and leading by example, supportive, open and honest communication with all residents and relatives enabling them to be involved in decision making wherever possible, and adapting communication methods as required. Mentor your team to be competent at first line communication with residents and relatives.

m. Be responsible for ensuring all requirements and regulations, training and support relating to the assessment of mental capacity of residents is adhered to.

4. Education, Learning & Research

a.To ensure the role of Senior Lead Nurses, Education & Development is supported. To ensure that planned and regular reviews with the HR Department are maintained in order to identify areas for practise development and the adherence to mandatory training is monitored and maintained.

b. Ensure through your senior nursing team is compliant with all mandatory education is achieved and appropriate resource planning is fostered to achieve this. Act as education facilitator as appropriate.

c. Ensure that the development of a mentorship programme at NGH is implemented to facilitate student placements. This includes liaison with the universities or third parties, planning placement dates, contracts and evaluation.

d. Lead by example and ensure the practise of giving and receiving clinical supervision, specifically for Assistant Practitioners and RN’s, and regular supervision with all care staff according to NGH policy is achieved.

e. To take responsibility for your own personal and professional development to maintain your registration with NMC and the CQC and to ensure the care service at NGH remains current, of a high quality and adheres to the principles of RCC.

f. To proactively develop a professional and supportive network within and outside NGH, to continue to develop leadership skills and maintain your knowledge through current research and evidence relating to our field of care, and in particular to the developments in caring for people with dementia and palliative care.

About this role

A little bit about the role 

Location: Hybrid, 2 days a week expected in our London Office. Those living outside the M25 can opt to not receive London Office Allowance and agree a more flexible office attendance pattern at offer stage.

You will be working within the Curriculum Team which sits within the Chief Social Worker directorate. The team oversees the design and development of Frontline’s programmes, including the Approach Social Work three-year master’s programme and our in-house practice education training known as the Consultant Social Worker (CSW) programme. 

The Curriculum Team is responsible for delivering teaching and learning to participants, designing and delivering assessment, marking, moderation and ensuring that robust quality assurance processes are in place. The Curriculum Team works very closely with a variety of teams including, but not limited to Delivery, Programme Management, Academic Registry, Partnerships and university partners.

The Principal Curriculum Lead for Practice Education and Social Worker Development will be responsible for Practice Education and social worker development, providing strategic leadership and academic direction for the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of the Practice Education CSW Programme and other training for students and qualified social workers. 

Some key responsibilities include:

• Provide vision and leadership for our Practice Education provision, ensuring programmes reflect professional standards, innovation, and best practice.
• Lead curriculum design and enhancement to maintain academic rigor, coherence, and alignment with PEPS 1 and 2 and Social Work England requirements.
• Lead and teach across the CSW practice education programme and Master’s Dissertation module, embedding innovative and research-informed pedagogy and contribute to teaching and assessment across other programmes.
• Maintain current knowledge of social work education, pedagogy, and practice through research and scholarship.

A little bit about you 

We are looking for a qualified social worker, registered with Social Work England (SWE) who has a masters’ degree in social work or a related discipline, with substantial experience in social work practice and higher education teaching. You’ll have strong leadership and management skills, with an excellent understanding of social work values, ethics and professional practice frameworks including a strong commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and social justice.

We have a fast-moving culture within the team and organisation, so we’re looking for someone who is who is well organised, details-focused and can use their initiative to do what works. You will have excellent communication skills, be able to build relationships with people and be willing to learn. Our new structure and our new ways of working will bring all of these services together under one delivery model launching next year. We're creating a new virtual support hub to bring together everything our community needs to manage their MS or support and care for someone living with MS.

Our Services Delivery team are responsible for: virtual support hub, community support teams, service comms and engagement

Our Director of Services Delivery will be:

• providing strategic direction and leadership to our Service Delivery function, spanning services such as a helpline, digital and remote, and community engagement
• taking overall responsibility for and providing thought-leadership to our strategic approach for all national and community service delivery, as well as our engagement and comms across our Services and Support
• ensuring our Services and Support are delivered to a consistently high standard and be accountable for the performance of our services in our Live Well activity.
• using evidence and insights, development and delivery of a UK-wide Service Delivery and Development strategy that ensures our services achieve maximum reach and impact, responding to the evolving needs and priorities of people with MS, and their families and carers.
• leading ongoing development and continuous improvement of MS Society’s service delivery operating model, responding to evolving needs and external environment to drive cultural change and inspiring staff and volunteers.
• leading by example, encouraging and role modelling transparency, learning from failure, reducing complexity, user centricity, collaborating, and seeking feedback and ideas from all

• substantial experience in Senior Leadership/Departmental Management roles, with the ability to manage large teams at all levels.
• proven success in setting and delivering strategic plans and achieving long standing impact.
• able to provide sector-leading thought-leadership and strategic expertise within Service Delivery of similar type services and scale.
• proven analytical skills and the ability to use data to inform decisions and improve services through development and embedding of strategic transformation.
