About the role
As our Philanthropy Manager – Major Gifts, you’ll play a vital role in delivering this ambition by building strong relationships with high-value supporters, securing five and six-figure gifts to power vital cardiovascular research.
Managing a diverse portfolio, you’ll renew, steward, and uplift support from high-net-worth individuals and charitable trusts and foundations. As part of an ambitious and supportive team, you’ll work collaboratively to identify opportunities, develop compelling proposals, and deliver exceptional tailored donor experiences.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and grow a portfolio of donors and prospects, securing five and six-figure gifts and pledges.
- Identify, research and qualify new prospects, building a strong and sustainable pipeline.
- Build strategic relationships with supporters, leading meetings and making confident, timely asks.
- Develop compelling proposals and written communications that inspire support and demonstrate impact.
- Provide exemplary stewardship to donors with engagement through events and other organisational opportunities
- Deliver income targets, contribute to forecasting, and maintain accurate records.
About you
You’ll have a proven track record of securing five and six figure donations or pledges, with demonstrable experience managing and delivering tailored stewardship across a portfolio of major donors. This will include high-net-worth individuals, charitable trusts and foundations, and institutional funders.
You bring experience identifying and cultivating new funders, and maximising funding opportunities through proactive, relationship-led fundraising. You’re confident developing persuasive proposals and written communications, clearly and succinctly conveying complex information (experience within medical research is desirable but not essential).
Your outstanding communication skills enable you to engage confidently and credibly with senior stakeholders, building lasting relationships built on trust and professionalism.
Highly organised and collaborative, you have strong planning skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. You’re also proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems (such as Blackbaud CRM, Raiser’s Edge, or similar platforms).

Trust fundraising at Battersea has grown significantly over the past few years, from £1m in 2022 to £2.6m in 2025. Working closely with another Trusts Manager, the Trusts Officer and Trusts Lead, you will secure vital funding from Trusts and Foundations to support the welfare of dogs and cats across the UK and internationally.
As the Trusts Manager, you will manage your own portfolio of five-figure Trust donors and take ownership of relationships to secure funding from both existing and new supporters. You will also support the Trusts Officer to deliver bi-annual Small Trusts Mailings and the Trusts Lead to deliver significant partnerships.

Job Summary
The Philanthropy Manager will develop a philanthropy strategy, building on the partnerships and resources already in place. You will develop a pipeline backed up by robust prospect research (some administrative assistance will be provided), and instigate a cultivation and stewardship programme, typically adopting a staged approach to major asks.
You will be accountable for the acquisition, development, and stewardship of high value supporters for CUF, both individual philanthropists and non-statutory grant-making bodies. You will develop and strengthen relationships with existing donors, as well as identifying warm prospects currently not supporting CUF financially. A key part of your role will be meeting and engaging major donor prospects to grow the pool.
You will engage with Trustees and senior leaders, to identify and nurture Christian philanthropists and grant body decision-makers within their spheres of influence.
You will lead on developing cases for support and writing grant applications, helped by the wider staff team.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter with high levels of motivation, and the ability to both develop and operationalise strategy as a member of a small team. You will have a track record of successfully initiating, managing and developing relationships with High-Net-Worth individuals and grantmaking bodies, and securing donations and grants, via proposals or through face-to-face meetings, as required.

About the role
We’re looking for a motivated and committed public affairs manager to join the policy, evidence and influencing team. In this role, you’ll help deliver change for people affected by breast cancer by leading our public affairs work in the UK Parliament and across England.
You’ll be responsible for developing and delivering a public affairs strategy to raise awareness of the critical issues for people affected by breast cancer. You’ll work with colleagues across the team and organisation to design influencing activities and events that deliver change. You’ll build strong relationships with parliamentarians and other public affairs stakeholders.
This role manages a public affairs officer. You’ll work closely with them to provide the secretariat for the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Breast Cancer.

Manchester Youth Zone is looking for a skilled, relationship-driven Philanthropy and Corporate Lead to help grow and nurture a community of major donors and corporate supporters who play a vital role in breathing life into the charity's mission.
Salary: £39,318 to £42,672 FTE
Location: Manchester, with some homeworking (3 days onsite FTE)
Contract: 12-months with potential to extend, 40 hours per week FTE, with flexibility for reduced hours (minimum 3 days per week)

About the charity
Located in Harpurhey (one of Manchester's most economically deprived areas), Manchester Youth Zone is an established independent charity dedicated to providing young people with somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to.
They support young people aged 8 to 19, and up to 25 for those with additional needs, offering high quality youth work, mentoring and targeted support during evenings and weekends. Their purpose is to create passion, purpose and pathways for every young person who walks through their doors.
About the role
Major donors have always been central to the youth zone's story. You will manage a portfolio worth over £1 million, nurturing and uplifting valued supporters, as well as securing new five and six-figure gifts.
You will create thoughtful, personalised donor journeys and steward significant relationships that lead to long-term, multi-year commitments.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone proactive and relationship-led, with the confidence to build trust quickly. Working closely with the Interim Chief Executive, Trustees and senior volunteers during a period of leadership transition, you will open doors, strengthen partnerships and bring the impact of the youth zone's work to life for donors.

You bring a strong track record of securing five-figure, multi-year gifts from either businesses or high-net-worth individuals, along with experience building and converting high-value pipelines.

The Philanthropy & Fundraising Manager will create and drive The Hunslet Club’s fundraising strategy by cultivating and securing significant philanthropic support to expand life-changing opportunities for young people across South Leeds. This role is central to building meaningful, long-term relationships with individual donors, trusts, foundations and partners, translating their passion for youth development into transformational investments that strengthen programmes, increase participation and create sustainable impact. The Philanthropy & Fundraising Manager will work on a full-time basis, or part-time on a pro-rata basis. The primary responsibility of the role is to secure £700,000 and above in philanthropic income over a 18 month period. This will be achieved through identifying, researching and cultivating individual donors, corporate supporters, trusts, foundations and strategic partners, using research tools and publicly available information to build and manage a strong portfolio of prospects, particularly those with an interest in supporting young people and communities.
To be successful, the postholder will develop an excellent understanding of The Hunslet Club, its mission and its inspirational youth and community work, and will help to develop and articulate a compelling case for support. The role will involve achieving a clearly defined set of Key Performance Indicators, providing high-quality stewardship to maximise donor retention, and maintaining, developing and leveraging existing relationships with current supporters. The postholder will work closely with colleagues across the organisation, including Executive/Senior Leadership and Trustees, to ensure effective involvement in fundraising activity where appropriate.
