The Role

This is an exciting time to join FareShare as we enter a period of expansion. The successful applicant will co-ordinate the day-to-day operations, oversee and support a team of volunteers to ensure the ongoing success of the FareShare Southern Central food warehouse in Southampton.

 This will involve working closely with warehouse colleagues and volunteers to ensure that all operational activities are completed to the agreed timetable and to the food safety standards set out in the FareShare operating manual.

Main Areas of Responsibility

Operations

· Work as a team with the Warehouse Manager, Deputy Warehouse Manager colleagues and volunteers to ensure all shifts are adequately planned, supervised and meet operational needs.

· Responsible for organising food distribution using the FareShare food management systems.

· Maintain excellent relations and communications with volunteers, staff, food suppliers and charities.

· Ensuring all key activities and milestones per shift are met.

· Work with the Warehouse Manager to develop new operational processes as required and take an active role in their implementation.

· To carry out any other duties which may be necessary.

Health and Safety

· Be responsible for the Health & Safety and security of FareShare Southern Central buildings, vehicles, staff and volunteers.

· Carry out & update risk assessments as defined by the FareShare operating manual and complete risk assessments for all new activity as required.

· Ensure compliance with all FareShare policies and procedures and industry standards as required by food donors and regulators.

· To ensure that the vans used by FareShare Southern Central are roadworthy and legal (taxed and insured) and to ensure there is payment of appropriate charges.

· Support the development of relevant policies and procedures for FareShare and to ensure that all staff, volunteers, food suppliers, charities and visitors adhere to them as appropriate.

· To comply with monitoring and evaluation systems as required for the Regional Centre’s activities and report regularly to the Warehouse Manager as required. 

Operating Hours and Shift Pattern

Position will be 7am to 3pm/ 8am – 4pm, Monday – Friday and occasional Saturdays on a rota basis.  

 Flexibility  is required to provide cover for planned and ad-hoc absences as well as Public and Bank Holidays is highly desirable in this role and also offers the opportunity for additional hours to supplement the core hours.

· Level 2 Certificate in Food Hygiene.

· At least one years’ experience that include either, supervising/managing staff or volunteers within a warehousing/operation food distribution setting.

· Experience of working in a team with evidence of demonstrating a flexible approach to team working.

· Experience of working on own initiative, able to manage own workload and prioritise tasks to meet objectives.

· Computer literate with experience of working with MS Office and other bespoke software packages

· Experience of driving vans / medium sized vehicles 3.5 Ton

You will provide tailored, person-centred support using a recovery model, ensuring our services are flexible and responsive to individual needs while meeting the expectations of our commissioners and stakeholders.

Your focus is on successful community reintegration and a sustained quality of life, guided by a recovery model that enables clients to live, work, learn, and participate fully in their communities through interactive and preventative approaches. We provide intensive accommodation-based support (six flats) and floating support (dispersed flats) designed to address the complex and challenging needs of our residents and participants.

This role will deliver the ITF Group financial budget, forecasts, reports of actual results and explanations of variances, be responsible for the chart of accounts and accruals and prepayments, and develop and exploit the use of finance systems and interfaces with other systems.

Your core responsibilities will include:

•  Budgeting, forecasting and reporting: Deliver the ITF Group financial budget and forecasts, propose budgeting assumptions, issue monthly accounts and variance analysis and report on financial risks and opportunities.
• Engage with stakeholders: Deliver reports of actual results, and explanations of variances to budget and forecast, to the Finance Director, senior managers and other stakeholders.
• Group-wide reporting: Review, challenge as required, and process expenditure returns from regional offices and upload these to the finance system to be included in ITF Group actual results.
• Chart of accounts: Responsible for the chart of accounts, opening and closing elements of the accounts, other coding matters, and controlling access rights to the finance systems and other financial information.
•  Accounting: Responsible for all accruals and prepayments, including overseeing those posted by the Head of Finance, Financial Controller and others.
• Supporting business partners: Provide regular donor funding reporting, accrue or defer income and expenditure, and make coding changes as requested by the donor funding team.
• Assisting audits: Prepare for and assist with the external audit and year-end and complete allocated balance sheet reconciliations.
• Strategy and projects: Strategic and ad hoc projects and financial modelling.
• Systems: Develop and exploit the use of finance systems and interfaces with other systems, upgrade finance systems, manage the relationships with finance software suppliers and ensure resilience, backups and contingency plans in relation to finance systems.

About You

You are a qualified accountant (e.g., CCAB or CIMA) with a proven track record in a senior finance role.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Essential criteria:

• Advanced Excel and intermediate Word skills.
•  Practical experience with complex finance databases (e.g., Sage, Oracle, SAP) and, reporting tools.
• Strong project management skills.
• Direct experience of being audited by external financial auditors.
• Knowledge and hands-on experience preparing annual reports and financial statements, with a solid knowledge of accounting standards and HMRC requirements.
• Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, be numerate and have the organisational skills to meet tight deadlines.
• A problem solving and systematic approach.
•  A willingness to adapt working hours during periods of high demand to ensure deadlines are met.
• Be fluent in English.

Desirable criteria:

• Experience in implementing new finance databases and reporting tools.

Independent Advocate Requirements:

• Strong communication and time management skills to successfully work remotely.

We're looking for a Recovery Worker to join our night team in successfully rehabilitating and reintegrating our male residents and participants into the community. In this role, you will provide pathways, support, and appropriate interventions to enable successful resettlement. You will also collaborate with internal and external partners and agencies to achieve desired outcomes.

Working in a trauma-informed and psychologically informed environment, you’ll empower residents to achieve their goals and improve their well-being. This role involves working closely with residents during the night, conducting welfare checks, providing guidance, and responding to individual needs. You will ensure the smooth running of the night service by conducting welfare checks, supporting residents, and handling any issues that arise. The role includes completing administrative tasks and providing thorough handovers with day staff and managers to maintain consistent service.

Some key responsibilities include: 

• Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of residents and participants at all times
• Focusing on empowering our residents to take control over their lives and meet their personal goals
• Planning activities to engage residents with other people, communities, and opportunities
• Building trusting professional relationships with residents, helping them to achieve their goals and aspirations which could be through tailored one to one sessions, group sessions, in and out of service activities, and general wellbeing check ins
• Be a valued and reliable member of the team, completing handovers for night colleagues for a seamless service
