The Role:
• This is an exciting opportunity as we are looking for a Policy and Advocacy Manager who will be responsible for developing and directing the delivery of Coed Cadw programme of advocacy and campaigning work in Wales.
• You will be responsible for developing relationships across broad policy-influencing audiences to achieve key policy outcomes in line with the Woodland Trust’s goals and objectives.
• Responsible for ensuring the Trust have and are following integrated and focused influencing strategies to achieve our public policy goals.

• Actively monitor, gather intelligence, understand and analyse relevant areas of Welsh policy and politics, acting on key opportunities. Collaborate with UK colleagues to ensure our policy and advocacy work is supported and aligned across the four nations and ensure consistent campaigning messages with the Trust’s wider communications and influencing strategies and plans.
• This is a hybrid role with travel to the Cardiff office and around the UK as required.

The Candidate:
• This is a key role in our Wales team and for candidates to stand out, we are looking for experience of working within a policy & advocacy or political context.
• Experience in shaping and implementing policy and advocacy or political strategies preferably in the environmental/voluntary sector, providing technical policy input and advice.
• Knowledge of the Welsh Government and Senedd with a strong understanding of current environmental policy, conservation and land management issues. You’ll have awareness of current affairs and processes through legislation, policy and grants in the Welsh context.
• Confident in building and developing partnerships with external and internal stakeholders, able to influence different audiences, to successfully change attitudes, behaviours and/or policy of key stakeholders.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to collaborate with a diverse range of teams and stakeholders to ensure the best development of strategies and policies.
• Ability to analyse complex information and be able to communicate in effective ways for diverse audiences.
• Understanding of different levers and approaches that can be used effectively to influence decision-makers.
• This role is based in Wales and will require the successful candidate to undertake travel across Wales and the UK.

Temporary Database & Insight Officer

Rate: £16.06 per hour
Contract: Temporary - 21st February to mid-April

We're supporting a national charity to recruit a Temporary Database & Insight Officer to join their Fundraising and Supporter Engagement team during a period of development and change.

This role is ideal for someone with strong CRM and data processing experience who enjoys improving systems, ensuring data integrity, and supporting colleagues to use data effectively.

The role

Reporting to the Database and Insight Manager, you'll take responsibility for the administration of financial and supporter data from a range of internal and external sources. You'll play a key role in managing data imports, maintaining regulatory compliance, improving processes and supporting users across the organisation.

A key focus will be maximising the benefits of a recent Donorflex V12 upgrade and supporting ongoing work towards a more integrated organisational CRM.

Key responsibilities

• Managing regular giving instructions within Donorflex, including BACS set-up, amendments, cancellations and reconciliation

• Processing and auditing Gift Aid claims

• Executing and developing data imports from multiple platforms, ensuring accuracy, reconciliation and correct income coding

• Liaising with third-party suppliers and internal stakeholders on data specifications and transfer routines

• Running data integrity reporting, audits and investigations, making recommendations to improve data quality

• Undertaking regular data cleansing and deduplication (in-house and externally supported)

• Developing and improving database and financial data processes

• Onboarding new Donorflex users, managing permissions, delivering training and producing guidance materials

• Managing a shared inbox and acting as first point of contact for database queries

• Supporting the wider Fundraising and Supporter Engagement team with data selections and insight reviews

The Programme Manager will focus on delivery of the Test & Itchen Recovery Plan; a new strategic pilot hosted by the Test & Itchen Catchment Partnership. Working closely with co-hosts, the Wessex Rivers Trust, this role will support coordination and reporting to a new TICP Strategic Leadership Group and tracking of delivery against the TICP’s Catchment Plans. This role is a critical link between HIWWT, the Catchment Partnership and Southern Water over the AMP 8 period 2025 to 2030, aiming to support Integrated Catchment management between Southern Water and the partnership with a focus on project development. The project has the following key functions:

• Project management & reporting for S20 activities, including supervision of contract delivery and reporting against monitoring plans, mitigation packages, and compensation packages on specified catchments.
• To act as programme lead & to supervise the T&I Projects Officer in enabling the collation and coordination of work between Southern Water and the Catchment Hosts/Catchment Partnership and the creation of a shared priority project pipeline plan.
• To support and help coordinate ongoing partnership projects running with Southern Water and the Catchment Hosts/Catchment Partnership/HIWWT.

As Administration and Membership Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the Neurological Alliance runs smoothly, efficiently and professionally. This is a practical, admin-led role with real responsibility and autonomy. You will manage day-to-day administration, support the Board and members, maintain accurate records and systems, and ensure financial and membership processes run effectively. In doing so, you will help amplify the voices of people affected by neurological conditions and our member organisations.

This role would suit someone looking for a meaningful, flexible part-time position where their work directly supports collaboration, influence and change. The role is home-based, with occasional travel for team meetings (around once every two months) and infrequent external meetings.

You will be an experienced administrator who is highly organised, reliable and detail-focused, and who enjoys keeping things running well behind the scenes.

Since 1998, Antifreeze has been a safe and warm space for members, offering faith-based, practical support services that restore dignity and hope. At our Day Centre, we provide hygiene facilities (showers & laundry), medical drop-ins, and essential survival provisions to meet immediate needs. Through 1-to-1 sessions, we support members with housing applications, benefits, and financial stability, while goal-based workshops equip them with skills to attain permanent homes and ethical employment. Our discipleship sessions encourage an advanced understanding of the Christian faith, offering fellowship and spiritual growth. To address digital poverty, we offer computer access for job searches and reconnecting with loved ones.

Beyond practical support, Antifreeze fosters healthy community relationships, improves mental health awareness, and helps members move toward ethical employment, reduced reliance on substances, and a forever home.

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is seeking a permanent Chief Medical Advisor. This is an SCS2 grade role and an outstanding opportunity to work in the largest Civil Service Department that touches the lives of citizens the length and breadth of the UK.

This is a unique opportunity for a senior medical professional to provide expert advice to inform policy, legislation, and delivery decisions at the UK’s biggest public service department, where we administer the State Pension and a range of working age, disability and ill health benefits to around 20 million claimants and customers.

This role will be the Senior Responsible Officer (SRO) for Clinical Governance and Clinical Profession. The postholder will build strong relationships with senior leaders, including the Permanent Secretary, ministers, and external stakeholders, ensuring clinical advice is accurate and of the highest quality. The role requires strong team leadership, promoting an inclusive environment for clinicians to encourage development and growth while ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.

As the Department’s most senior medical professional, you will provide expert advice on clinical policy and clinical governance matters to DWP Ministers and senior leaders across DWP including the DWP Executive team. The role will also work closely with other clinical teams across government as well as external organisations such as regulatory bodies, external providers and charities.

The Department has an ambitious reform agenda including priorities set out in the Get Britain Working White Paper and the Pathways to Work Green Paper and a focus on tackling rising youth inactivity.

As Chief Medical Advisor you will bring professional expertise to complex problems, influencing right at the heart of decision making. You will be a strong relationship builder, able to work effectively across a large and complex organisation, and operate as an inspiring leader.

This role has four major components:

1. Leading a team of approximately 50 colleagues providing clinical advice across DWP, you will act as the Department’s expert on clinical policy matters and work with officials across the Department to ensure Ministers receive the highest quality advice on clinical policy.
2. Provide the in-house clinical advice relating to disability, work, and health within DWP for Ministers and the Executive team.
3. Operate as Head of Clinical Profession, where you will be responsible for training, appraisal, and revalidation of c.200 clinicians in DWP, ensuring they are in good standing with their regulatory body. There is also a dotted line of professional responsibility to 5,500 healthcare professionals within contracted provider organisations.
4. As SRO for Clinical Governance, you will oversee the DWP Caldicott Guardian and Clinical Safeguarding Lead, providing final sign-off for sanctions and waivers on behalf of the Secretary of State.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate their knowledge, experience and skills against the following essential criteria:

• Excellent strategic thinking skills, with the ability to understand both complex policy detail and high level, strategic connections across a broad portfolio and an outstanding eye for critical detail.
• Experience of delivering practical and innovative responses to complex issues and responding to unplanned circumstances.
• Strong technical skills relevant to clinical safeguarding with expertise in occupational health or functional medicine.

• Management of a broad range of categories across the organisation, focussing predominantly on indirect, non-stock purchases.

• Work with Senior Management to identify procurement improvement priorities by analysing forecast spend, supply markets and specification options.

• Design, plan and lead the tender process for a variety of buying categories up to a contract value of £2m.

• Contribute to the specification-writing process, leading to formal technical, performance and supply specifications that can be used in tendering; it is expected that the individual will write the final versions of those specifications and hold them on file.

• Regularly review and improve procurement processes for allocated categories, adapting to organisational strategic change.

• Working with the team, assess and manage risk across all allocated categories.

• Write, negotiate and sign off contracts with suppliers to achieve the maximum value for ShelterBox.

• Develop and maintain appropriate supplier and contract management processes for all allocated categories.

• Report on cost savings and avoidance and added value.

• Upskill individuals across the organisation on commercial processes, offering strategic advice and ensuring compliance with internal policies.

• Manage procurement-led projects such as procedure implementation, and software introduction.
• Develop and deliver sustainability improvements within the procurement function according to the Environmental Policy.

• Keep up to date with legislative changes, industry trends and market developments.

• Sign off on supply chain compliance as per the delegation of authority level.

• Maintain departmental databases.

• Ensure that the procurement administration is kept up to date and that all filing is in accordance with policy.

• Support procurement-related projects across the organisation.

• Uphold ethical and professional procurement standards at all times.

• Maintain commercial confidence for internal matters, and matters pertaining to suppliers.

• Represent ShelterBox as required.
