Job description

Change Mental Health is looking for a Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioner to join our community-based Hub in Invergordon.

Our Hub provides a welcoming, non-clinical space where people can connect with others, build confidence and resilience, and improve their mental health and wellbeing through group activities, peer support and recovery-focused opportunities.

About the role

You’ll play an important part in the day-to-day running of the Hub, working directly with people experiencing poor mental health or mental illness.

Your work will include facilitating groups and wellbeing activities, providing person-centred 1:1 support, helping people develop achievable goals and personal plans, and connecting people with wider community support. You’ll also build relationships with local organisations and help make sure everyone accessing the Hub feels respected, included and heard.

We’re looking for someone who can build positive relationships, work confidently both independently and as part of a team, and bring an empathetic, strengths-based and recovery-focused approach to their work.

Essential

  • Experience of facilitating groups or community-based mental health activities.
  • Experience providing structured 1:1 support.
  • Ability to build positive, professional relationships with people accessing support.
  • Willingness to work towards an SVQ Level 2 in Social Services and Healthcare (Adults) and SSSC registration, if required.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of local community resources, services and support networks.
  • Experience supporting people affected by trauma, social isolation or complex life circumstances.

The role is typically worked Tuesday and Wednesday, 10am–4pm, and Thursday, 10am–3.30pm, with some flexibility occasionally required to meet service needs.

If you’re passionate about helping people strengthen their wellbeing, connections and confidence within their own community, we’d love to hear from you
