We are looking for someone with impressive programme management and change management experience, who can lead through others. Someone who is both attentive to detail, and an expert communicator.
You will lead a team of four experts in project and event management, who support clinicians and specialist advisors to deliver truly impactful programmes, projects and networks, with and for the hospice sector.
You’ll shape our approach to programme management across the team, developing and embedding ways of working that give our work consistency, quality and meaningful results.
You will also spearhead the delivery of two new, vital programmes of work - supporting the wellbeing and professional development of the hospice workforce, and improving access to quality hospice care for people experiencing socio-economic disadvantage.
Perhaps you’re working in the charity and/or healthcare sector already, or you might bring senior programme management experience from other fields.
Either way, you’ll become part of a close, 17-strong Programmes Team at Hospice UK. We work together and alongside external experts, to design and deliver evidence-based programmes, projects and events, which help hospices provide the very best care in their communities.

About the role:
Are you the kind of person who can navigate sensitive conversations with empathy, and bring clarity to complex workplace dynamics? As our Employee Relations Officer, you’ll be the trusted advisor who helps maintain a positive, respectful, and high-performing work environment. You will be responsible for leading and advising on low and medium complexity ER cases, providing policy interpretation support to managers, ensuring employment law compliance, and contributing to policy development and improvement initiatives. This role also includes involvement in project-based work and other administrative responsibilities that support the delivery of People Team objectives.
About You:
To be successful as the Employee Relations Officer you will need to demonstrate proven experience in an ER focused HR role, managing a range of employee relations cases. You will have a strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices and ideally experience in TUPE transfers and organizational restructures. It would be advantageous to hold or be working towards a CIPD qualification of Level 5 or above.

Meet your Manager
In this role you will be managed by Cheryl King-McDowall. On secondment from the Cabinet Office she led the creation of a new operating model for the House of Commons’ HR function. Prior to this, Cheryl has worked in and led HR, Policy, Communications and Operations, for over 30 years in a variety of organisations including Local Authorities, Charity, NGO, and Higher Education sectors. With a background in occupational and organisational psychology, she specialises in organisational development and effectiveness, change and business improvement.
Main Duties
- Provide strategic HR support and guidance to managers and staff, ensuring policies and procedures are well understood and applied consistently.
- Share best practices and drive consistency in HR practices across global teams.
- Support leadership meetings by delivering insights and assessing People & Culture needs proactively.
- Advise on complex employee relations issues, including performance management, conduct, capability, and grievance handling.
- Oversee our relationship with our Employer of Record (EOR) including, ensuring accuracy and timely submission of payroll processes in line with legal and organisational requirements.

- Previous experience working in a HR role in South East Asia (particularly Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia) with in-depth understanding of local employment laws in at least one of these countries (essential).

About This Job
As Fundraising Assistant at sister charities, ACCT UK and CCFA, you will play a key role in the growth of existing fundraising and in the creation of new income streams. Stewarding fundraisers, helping to develop new and existing fundraising campaigns, building relationships internally within the cadet organisations and externally with Trusts and Foundations, corporates and major givers. You will provide administrative and operational support, including maintaining the fundraising database.
