Worcestershire Association of Carers (WAC) is a well-established charity with passionate staff and volunteers who have a good reputation for delivering. ABOUT THE TREASURER ROLE
We're looking for a volunteer treasurer to join our valued board of trustees and play a pivotal role in ensuring our organisation is well governed and complies with all financial legislation and good practice relating to charities and charitable income.
Our board meets 6 times per annum combining in-person with remote meetings to benefit all members. In addition, our finance & risk sub-committee meets ahead of main board meetings, approximately 2 weeks in advance, to fully review our financial position and any risks posed to the organisation, be they financial or otherwise.
The treasurer will work with our CEO, internal team and external accountant to ensure income and expenditure is in line with forecast / budget and will work to understand any variances. Our treasurer will support the team in ensuring that processes and systems are fit for purpose, reflective of the size of the organisation and do not add unnecessary burdens.
The CEO and treasurer will work together in reviewing monthly management accounts as well as supporting any requests to add expertise to project proposals and financial plans which differ to usual ways of working. The treasurer will be supported by our chair of trustees and will also maintain regular contact. The Board of Trustees

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Kempton Great Engines Trust as we embark on an ambitious programme to showcase Kempton’s vital role in supplying much of London’s water.
Kempton Great Engines Trust is the governing body for Kempton Steam Museum, the home of the world’s largest working triple-expansion steam engine. The Trust supports day-to-day operations and drives the ongoing development of the museum as a successful and sustainable visitor attraction.

Background
Thyroid UK is a charitable company working primarily within the United Kingdom. Formed in 1998, we became a company limited by guarantee in 2007 and in 2008 we became a registered charity.
The provision of quality information for people with both diagnosed and undiagnosed thyroid disorders is the primary concern of Thyroid UK, and we work effectively in this field through dialogue with NHS departments, networking with other voluntary organisations, and providing services directly to patients.
We are a small charity, with just three permanent employees, plus contract staff, but we have a wide influence, and provide a great deal of support to our beneficiaries, within the UK and abroad. The charity’s annual income in 2023 was £96,900.54 with the majority of that income being spent on both running the charity and conducting campaigns and activities to support our beneficiaries.
The Thyroid UK Board of Trustees is a diverse group of 7 individuals, including the CEO, a Chairperson, Deputy Chair and this Treasurer role.
Role
We are looking to fill the position of treasurer for our Board of Trustees. Working with the CEO and Finance Manager, this role monitors the financial administration of the charity and reports to the Board of Trustees on its state of financial health, in line with best practice and in compliance with the governing document and legal requirements, to provide the board with the confidence and knowledge to better make operational and strategic decisions.
The ideal candidate will have experience of finance or finance management, preferably including some experience in a small company or charity.
Time requirement
The role will require a time commitment of an average of 1 to 2 days per month, with more time required in some months than others. This includes three planned board meetings of approximately 3 hours (two held online and one held in London with the option to join remotely, if needed) and the Thyroid UK AGM.

Remuneration
Thyroid UK is a charitable, not-for-profit organisation. Trustee roles are not remunerated. However, reasonable expenses for travel can be paid for those not living in London.
Key Responsibilities

3 in 20 girls and 1 in 20 boys will experience sexual violence before they turn 18. Yet, with access to the right help, children and their families can heal and recover. We are currently recruiting for a new Treasurer to join our Trustee board. As a Trustee of The Green House, you will play a crucial role in setting the strategic direction of the charity and ensuring good governance. Duties of the Treasurer

Terms of appointment
Terms of office

Trustees are appointed for a three-year term of office, with renewal for two further terms to a maximum of three years.

This is a voluntary position, but all reasonable expenses are covered.
Time commitment (Approximately 2-4 days a month)

Attend monthly Board meetings. These are typically held on a Thursday evening at 6pm. Most meetings are virtual although we do meet in-person on a quarterly basis.

Attend monthly Finance and Resources Meetings (max 1hr 30). These are typically held on a Monday evening at 6pm. Most meetings are virtual. Ensuring that there is sufficient time within the month to work with the Business Development Manager to oversee and contribute to any actions relating to the Trustee Board and the role of the Treasurer (1.5 days per month).

Additional time is needed to take ownership of actions that arise from meetings (from supporting with recruitment and exit interviews where appropriate, to attending events on The Green House’s behalf). You will also need to be flexible in responding to emergent time-urgent issues when they arise.

We also ask Trustees to attend an initial induction day at The Green House, The Green House’s annual Festival of Activism against Child Sexual Abuse (1 day in early February) and spend a strategy day with the staff team (typically 1 day September). From time to time, depending on the nature of the Fundraising activity it may be necessary for Trustee’s to attend fundraising events/meetings with the CEO.

What will you be doing? Duties include; explain, guide and advise the board on the key assumptions and financial implications of the Citizens Advice Southampton budgets, operational and strategic plans ensure that the organisation has an appropriate reserves policy and a realistic budget that meets the services’ needs ensure that annual accounts are prepared in compliance with SORP (Statement of Recommended Practice) Accounting for Charities and submitted by the deadline to the Charity Commission and/or Registrar of Companies, and make arrangements for them to be audited or independently examined as required

What are we looking for? Although you will not necessarily need to have prior experience of being a Trustee, we are specifically looking to recruit anyone with relevant experience which will support them in their role as Treasurer. Who we are looking for.
Grace Eyre is looking for a qualified Treasurer / Finance Trustee to join their Board of Trustees. With an accountancy qualification or qualified by experience, ideally, we seek an individual with experience in capital build financing and monitoring — alongside experience in charity finance and accounting.
Having knowledge and experience in adult social care, learning disabilities/autism, or housing would be beneficial, but we welcome applicants from all sectors to bring broad perspective and financial acumen.
We also welcome applicants from minority and ethnic communities who are underrepresented on the Board. We value diverse perspectives from the widest possible range of backgrounds.
Responsibilities:
Grace Eyre Trustees are responsible for the Code of Conduct:
- Act within the governing document and the law,
- Act in the best interest of Grace Eyre as a whole,
- Manage conflicts of interest effectively,
- Respect confidentiality,
- Have a sound and up-to-date knowledge of Grace Eyre and its environment,
- Attend meetings and other appointments or give apologies,
- Prepare fully for meetings and all work for Grace Eyre,
- Actively engage in discussion, debate and voting in meetings,
- Acting jointly and accept a majority decision,
- Work considerately and respectfully with all.
Time commitment
The Board of Trustees hold 6 meetings a year. Each meeting requires 3 hours with reading time. The Treasurer would also Chair the Audit and Risk Committee.
- Audit and Risk Committee – meet 3 times a year.
- Remuneration Committee – meet once a year.
- Big Build Committee – currently meet 6 times a year with occasional attendance by the Treasurer.
Trustees are also welcome to attend one of the many events and internal team meetings.

Debt Justice is looking for a Treasurer to support our board to meet our financial responsibilities. Debt Justice is a UK based campaigning organisation that challenges poverty and inequality caused by unjust debt. In solidarity with global allies, we actively challenge the way that debt is used to sustain colonialism and exploitation in the global economy. At the same time, we use a community organising approach to build the collective power of people with lived experience of debt in local communities across the UK. Our local groups bring people on the frontlines of economic injustice together to lead campaigns and win systemic change to tackle the household debt crisis.
As the Treasurer, you will play a key role in helping us fulfil our mission. You will also benefit from:

· The chance to support an economic justice organisation campaigning in solidarity with people affected by debt in local communities and in the global south.
· Induction and training to help you in your role as Treasurer, including a nominated trustee-buddy to provide peer-support

Experience of being a Treasurer is not essential. We are looking for someone who has skills in financial management and there is no requirement of any knowledge of campaigning, advocacy or communications.
