You may be an experienced fundraising manager wanting to contribute to and steer strategy development, or a specialist seeking to take the next step in their career. With experience in grant funding – from trusts, foundations, philanthropists or government – you will have three key areas shape, building on the great foundations already in place. These are;
 

• Building EngineeringUK’s pipeline of prospective funders. Researching vision-aligned high value potential funders. There’s an impact-rich portfolio of restricted and unrestricted programmes and themes ranging from sustainability to gender equity to explore.
• You’ll relationship-manage our most significant funders - be the new visionary funders in the green space, piloting new work, to long-established education-focussed funders giving multi-year gifts.
  •  You will take the lead on developing and writing proposals in collaboration with vibrant, and evidence-based Engagement Programme, Research and Policy teams.
     

You will be part of a truly collaborative team which achieves shared ambitions, when working on cross-department projects such as reporting to your funders and preparing engaging experiences for them. This can include visits to schools, tours of our stand-out Big Bang Fair with 20,000 visitors, or volunteering on our Big Bang competition judging. These opportunities mean that EngineeringUK is uniquely placed for a Trusts & Foundations Manager to work in meaningful relationship development as well as the “bread and butter” delivery. About the role
 

We are looking for a passionate and skilled Trusts & Foundations specialist to complete a maternity cover. This role will continue to expand EngineeringUK’s relationships in this field and develop grant-funding as a core income stream for our work. We receive significant funding from grant funders already but are looking to scale this income stream. This gives the successful candidate the opportunity to create impact for our programme delivery, research and beyond. Whilst this is currently the sole role focusing on this area, you would be supported by the Director of Business Development & Partnerships and the Chief Executive, both of whom have experience in this type of fundraising. Senior level engagement and support means we can be flexible to the level of experience of the successful candidate, making this role a great opportunity for an experienced Manager wanting to take ownership of a strategy, or for a Specialist looking to take their next step and develop their strategic skills.
 

The Trusts & Foundations Manager (maternity cover) role is part of the Business & Industry team (11 people), who have responsibility for all funding and industry relationships across EngineeringUK. The team works strategically with stakeholders across the engineering, technology and education sectors, to support our mission to increase the number and diversity of young people choosing engineering and technology careers. Opportunities for funding include our bursary programme, in-school programmes such as Climate Schools and Big Bang Programme, supporting our community of Code signatories, and developing new programmes.
 

Prospecting and pipeline management is a key element of this role and once funding is secured, the postholder will account manage the relationship, including regular reporting, delivered in collaboration with programme leads. Therefore, in addition to being able to secure new funding, interest in and experience of delivering excellent account management is essential.
 

Whilst the core focus of the role will be on developing relationships with trusts & foundations and bid writing, there may also be some opportunities to explore key relationships we hold in government, connected to statutory grants and procurement opportunities.

The role is London based at our office at 10 Lower Thames Street, London EC3R 6EN and may involve some travel in the UK. We believe that hybrid working has many benefits and are pleased to offer flexible working with a minimum of 2 days (or 40%) a week in the office and the option for a flexible start and end to the working day in our vibrant central London office overlooking the Thames. About you

Essential Skills / Competencies

• Experience of identifying, securing and delivering grant-funding from trusts, foundations and/or government.
• Good understanding of the grant-giving environment, with the ability to quickly identify the spaces and conversations your organisation should be engaging in.
• Experience of building and prioritising a pipeline.
• Confidence securing introductions to new people and organisations in-person, virtually, and through written correspondence.
• Excellent writing skills, with the ability to condense detailed information and present it in a compelling and persuasive way for a variety of audiences.
• Excellent relationship management skills, with the ability to quickly build rapport, understand, and respond to the needs of both internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong record keeping, with experience of using a CRM for maintaining records and reporting.
• Ability to understand and present financial information for a funder.

The Trusts and Grants Officer is responsible for securing and growing income from charitable trusts, foundations and other agreed grant-making bodies to support LOROS’ core services and strategic priorities.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Trust & Grant Fundraiser to lead and grow our charitable income from trusts, foundations and grant-making bodies.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will play a key strategic role in securing sustainable funding, both restricted and unrestricted, that enables Carers’ Resource to enhance, expand and support our existing services and allows us to invest in organisational infrastructure, website and digital technology.

This is a hands-on and strategic role for an experienced fundraiser who thrives in a small to medium sized charity environment. You will have autonomy to develop a whole new fundraising strategy, utilise diverse fundraising methods, and build and develop new project ideas and partnerships. We are The Bike Project, a charity that collects second-hand bikes, refurbishes them and donates them to refugees and people seeking asylum in the UK. That brings better health, freedom and independence to people rebuilding their lives in the UK. That’s vital when many are living on less than £10 a week.

A bike links people to essential services, including foodbanks and legal advice, as well as the local community. 

About The Bike Project

The Bike Project is an award-winning charity which refurbishes second hand bikes and donates them to refugees.  We were founded in 2013 by Jem Stein, after he struck up a friendship and found a bike for Adam, a Darfuri refugee who had fled his home in Sudan after war broke out.

The Bike Project has grown into a national operation with new CEO, hundreds of volunteers, a team of committed staff, an online bike shop and two workshops, one in London and one in Birmingham.

To date we have supported over 15,000 refugees and people seeking asylum by giving them a second-hand bike. In addition, we have supported hundreds through our programmes designed to build confidence and build friendships in the local community.

We are now working towards our ambitious goal - that every refugee, wherever they are, can access the transformative power of a bike. Alongside this, we are strengthening our processes and procedures to ensure we are work efficiently and sustainably.

To help us do this we need people that are full of ideas, who love problem solving and are not afraid to suggest new ways of doing things to achieve the best possible results for our community.

Role and Resonsibilties

This role oversees the securing and reporting of our Trusts and Foundation income, including working closely with colleagues to develop relevant, impactful and deliverable funding proposals and coordinate the stewardship of key trust and foundation relationships.

The role works closely with all colleagues to ensure a joined-up approach to income generation across the charity and our different supporter groups. 

Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in preparing and submitting successful funding applications and proposals to charitable trusts and foundations, with a track record of securing five and six figure gifts, ideally within the refugee’s sector. You will have experience of working with, and applying for funding from, some of the larger grant organisations.

You will be experienced in identifying suitable prospects, developing pipelines, and managing funder relationships, adopting a strategic approach when working with colleagues across the organisation.

Location and Hours

This is a hybrid role, with at least one day per week worked on site at our Brixton office and/or Deptford workshop, and the remaining hours worked remotely.

The role is part-time (0.6 FTE), equivalent to 3 days per week, and can be worked flexibly across either Monday–Wednesday or Tuesday–Thursday. Some occasional evening and weekend work may be required.

About the role

​As Trust and Grants Manager, you’ll be responsible for developing and delivering our Trust Fundraising Strategy, ensuring strong performance, excellent funder stewardship and long‑term growth. The charity was established in 1996 to meet the gap in specialist mental health services. Woman’s Trust is led by and for women and aims to ensure that women affected by domestic abuse can live a life free from further harm and abuse. Our approach is trauma-informed and person-centred, empowering survivors on their journey to recovery from the trauma.
