This is an exciting time to join the Endometriosis UK trustee board, as the organisation expands and develops to achieve the changes that are needed to support those affected by the disease and to drive down diagnosis time. With trustees coming to the end of their time on the Board, we are looking for a Treasurer and two further Trustees to build on this momentum to strengthen our organisation and bring about change for those with endometriosis. We have a skills-based board, with Trustees having one or more identified skills, with the overall membership of the Board providing the complete set of skills.
Endometriosis impacts on the physical and mental health of 10% of women and those assigned female at birth in the UK, from puberty to menopause - although the impact can be felt for life. Yet it’s a disease most people have never heard of, do not understand and the cause is not known. It costs the UK economy around £11 billion every year in healthcare costs, loss of work and treatments and yet it isn’t recognised by most employers. As the UK’s leading charity for all those affected by endometriosis, we’re determined to change this and ensure that everyone gets prompt diagnosis and the best treatment and support.
We’ve big ambitions in our strategy, focused on supporting those with endometriosis, driving down diagnosis times, campaigning for improved treatments and access to services, raising awareness, and leveraging more money into research. We place people with endometriosis at the heart of all we do, and with an average time to get a diagnosis of over 9 years, the cause of the disease unknown and no cure, there is so much more they need and want. If we get our work right, we really can make a difference to the 1.5 million women and those assigned female at birth with endometriosis in the UK – and all those diagnosed in the future.
The pandemic had a major knock-on effect to the treatment and management of endometriosis. Cancelled surgeries and appointments left those with endometriosis unable to access treatments and support or get a diagnosis. We have a big job to do, increasing the support we provide, reaching everyone affected by endometriosis and ensuring they get the support they need. Despite being small we’ve achieved a lot. But there is so much more we want to do.
1. Treasurer
We are currently recruiting for a Treasurer to join our friendly, dynamic, experienced and effective Board of Trustees. Trustees are recruited based on their skills and experience, and for this role we are particularly seeking someone who can bring strong financial expertise and strategic insight to the Board.
In addition to the Treasurer role listed above, we are also looking for two additional new Trustees to join our board.

The Wellbeing Officer (Trustee) provides information, guidance and advice to volunteers and service users around topics such as mental health and wellbeing. Additionally, if service users or volunteers have any concerns, the best point of contact is the wellbeing officer.
What do we specifically expect of this role?
● Delivery of a plan to proactively assist officers and volunteers in public-facing roles, with tools and techniques to prevent or reduce any initial harm/trauma from purposeful or accidental harmful interactions - social media, live events, outreach, panel events, etc.

STAMMA is the leading charity for people who stammer in the UK. We’re a small, award-winning organisation with big ambitions and a brilliant community, keen to create space and respect for people who stammer.
Stammering has historically been the target for humour and used to suggest inadequacy, leaving many who stammer facing daily ignorance, discrimination and disrespect. This can affect job prospects and mental health, and cause depression and social isolation. It can make booking a GP appointment a nightmare, and prevent people from accessing a service altogether, leaving them feeling humiliated, degraded or disbelieved. We’re here to change that.
We’ve a clear strategy for the next five years to achieve real and practical change for people who stammer by highlighting the inadvertent barriers they face within the workplace and as service users. We want to reach more people who stammer and grow our supporter base, but to do that we need to expand our training and advocacy services, whilst underpinning our helpline and family support.
We want to appoint a new Trustee with significant skills and experience within the charity sector to the Board. You’ll need to share our excitement and ambition for change. It isn’t essential that you stammer. This is an unpaid position, but travel expenses can be covered. Trustee terms are for four years, and you will be expected to attend all Board meetings, up to five times a year, usually on a Saturday, either in-person at different locations across England, or online. Research & Policy Officer (Volunteer)
Purpose: To support research / policy projects in areas of the UK, ensuring strategic alignment, quality assurance, and effective collaboration that drives systemic change for young people across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic oversight of research / policy projects, ensuring outputs are high-quality and impactful.
Lead on drafting policy briefs and research reports, setting standards for evidence-based advocacy.
Coordinate multi-stakeholder collaboration, i.e councils, commissions, and community organisations to deliver change.
Identify emerging issues and opportunities, help in shaping the research agenda in line with organisational priorities.
Represent the organisation in external meetings.
Ensure consistency and coherence across multiple projects running in different localities.
Person Specification
Background in social policy, law, health, climate, or political science, ideally with professional or postgraduate experience.
Proven ability to manage complex projects and coordinate across multiple stakeholders.
Excellent strategic thinking and communication skills, able to influence decision-makers.
Strong IT and remote collaboration skills.

We’re looking for a new Brand, Communications and Creative Trustee who can use their skills to support our growing charity. In early 2026, CLAPA relaunched with a new brand identity. This role will ensure that our team are supported in brand and content strategy and making the most of the new brand for growth and engagement.
The Brand, Communications and Creative Trustee will participate in all areas of the charity’s governance with a special interest in brand strategy, content, communications and creative to support with the Board’s understanding and interpretation.
The Board of Trustees is responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of the charity, developing CLAPA’s aims, objectives and goals in accordance with the governing document, legal and regulatory guidelines. You would be joining our board at an exciting time, as we continue to implement our 5-year strategy for 2025-2030.
