We are looking for friendly and enthusiastic people to help us in our brand-new Visitor Centre at Crystal Palace Park!  

The Visitor Centre is a welcoming hub where visitors can discover the history and heritage of Crystal Palace Park through a permanent exhibition, browse our gift shop and find information to help them make the most of their visit to Crystal Palace Park. The building also includes a flexible space available to hire for community events, meetings, and activities.

Volunteers will play a vital role in ensuring that visitors have an informative and positive visit. You’ll volunteer in pairs, supported by paid staff, to welcome visitors and support our Visitor Centre shop and membership opportunities.

This role will suit you if you are a friendly, outgoing individual who is keen to gain retail and customer service experience while learning more about working for a charity.

What’s involved: 

• Welcoming visitors to Crystal Palace Park and helping to ensure that we provide an inclusive and friendly environment for all our visitors. 

• Supporting the Visitor Centre shop, including serving customers, processing sales through our cashless till system and helping to ensure the stock is monitored and the space is welcoming and tidy. 

• Wayfinding – helping visitors map out their route around the park, including information about park services; toilets, cafes and seating areas 

• Promoting Crystal Palace Park, including our aiding visitors to join as Crystal Palace Park Members using our membership tablets. 

Time involved: 

This role is available Wednesday – Sunday throughout the year. Hours involved will be across two shift patterns, AM: 9.45 – 1.00pm and PM: 12.45 – 4.00pm. 

There will also be ad-hoc evening openings throughout the year which volunteers can also be involved in.

We encourage volunteers to take part in this role for at least 3 months to get the most out of the opportunity.

Join our team of Park Welcome Volunteers at Crystal Palace Park and help maintain the park's warm atmosphere. Volunteering in pairs, you’ll walk designated routes around the park sharing advice and information with visitors. You’ll communicate details about the park’s regeneration works, history, wildlife, and facilities and support us by monitoring our heritage points and reporting information to Park staff using a data collection sheet at the end of your shift.

At different times your role may include: 

• Being a visible presence and ambassador for the park

• Welcoming visitors, helping with wayfinding and providing information about park services; toilets, cafes and seating areas 

• Sharing details about the park’s activities, heritage, and community events with visitors and promoting responsible park use.

• Walking to our heritage points and monitoring their cleanliness and safety

• Sharing your observations and information with park staff through a short survey at the end of each shift

About Crystal Palace Park:

Crystal Palace Park is an independent, community-led charity. Our mission is to protect, manage and improve Crystal Palace Park as a green, open, historic, ecological, recreational, sporting, cultural and educational resource in the interests of the community and other Park users. 

On 15 September 2023 we became the park’s custodian, taking over this responsibility from the London Borough of Bromley. We are devoted to its long-term maintenance and improvement as a vibrant ecological, recreational and historic resource.

As a Client Services Helpline Volunteer, you will play an important role in supporting the delivery of our services. Working within a compassionate and inclusive environment, you’ll help provide high‑quality, person‑centred support to individuals seeking guidance, information, or reassurance.

This role involves:

1. Supporting callers on our helpline
2. Recording information accurately
3. Signposting to relevant partner services
4. Working collaboratively within a supportive team environment 

We ideally ask for a commitment of one 4‑hour shift per week, although we do appreciate that this may not always fit around everyone’s circumstances. Our helpline operates 24/7 and shifts are prearranged to suit volunteers’ availability.

Training:

The training for Client Services Helpline role consists of initial e-learning. Volunteers are also required to attend a weeklong virtual training session so that we can provide guidance and support to them whilst they navigate our systems for the first time as well as for us to go through our processes and ensure that they have all the access needed to succeed in the role.

The training runs Monday – Friday from 9am to 4pm.

Global Health Access Trust is looking for a Governance & Charity Administration Volunteer to help strengthen the records, policies and administrative foundations of an international charitable organisation working towards registration.

This opportunity would suit someone with governance, legal, charity administration or senior administrative experience who enjoys bringing order, accuracy and follow-through to important organisational work.

The Clothing Bank Volunteer plays an important role in supporting individuals and families experiencing financial hardship by helping to provide access to good-quality clothing and essential items. Volunteers assist with the day-to-day running of the clothing bank, ensuring donations are sorted, organised, and distributed in a welcoming, respectful, and dignified manner.

• Receive, sort, and organise donated clothing, shoes, and accessories.

Wear Yellow Day is one of Cystic Fibrosis Trust's flagship fundraising campaigns, bringing people together across the UK to raise awareness and vital funds for everyone affected by cystic fibrosis.

Since launching more than a decade ago, Wear Yellow Day participants have raised over £1 million to support Cystic Fibrosis Trust's work. We're now looking ahead to Wear Yellow Day 2027, taking place on 11 June 2027, and are seeking enthusiastic Champions to help us build on that success.

As a Wear Yellow Day Champion, you'll help spread the word about the campaign through your own networks. Whether that's encouraging colleagues, inspiring friends and family, promoting Wear Yellow Day within a school or community group, or sharing campaign messages online, you'll play an important role in helping make the campaign a success.

By joining us early, you'll also have the opportunity to help shape ideas, build awareness and generate momentum ahead of Wear Yellow Day 2027.

This is a UK based role and a flexible volunteering opportunity that can fit around your existing commitments. Full training, resources and support will be provided.

This role involves sitting at the reception desk and acting as a first point of contact, helping to create a friendly, welcoming and supportive environment for clients, visitors and staff. You will offer clear directional guidance, practical assistance and information about services and activities, helping people feel safe, comfortable and supported when they arrive. An exciting volunteer opportunity at Mind in Camden – we are seeking frontline volunteers to help run our busy admin Office and Reception.

We are looking for a friendly and organised person who is able to commit to volunteering for six months as a minimum, ideally for at least one full day a week. We also welcome applicants who wish to volunteer for more than one day a week or who would like to volunteer for longer than six months. Regretfully we cannot consider applications from volunteers who can only commit to half days.

You might be someone with existing administrative skills who is interested in supporting our cause as a mental health organisation or have experience supporting family or friends with mental health challenges or someone who would like to develop their skills and gain administrative experience in an office environment. We provide a range of training of all of our volunteers.
