Day Centre Assistant & Companion

What You’ll Do

Support staff and clients at the Mabel Churn Centre to create a warm, welcoming environment for older people living with dementia. You’ll help with social activities and mealtimes to ensure the day runs smoothly.

You will:

· Chat and engage with clients to build a friendly atmosphere

· Encourage and support participation in activities (e.g. arts, music)

· Set up tables and help serve meals and drinks

Help Shape Aspire Oxfordshire's Next 25 Years

As Aspire Oxfordshire approaches its 25th anniversary, we are looking for new Trustees to help shape the next chapter of our journey.

For almost 25 years, Aspire has supported people across Oxfordshire experiencing homelessness, poverty and disadvantage to build safer, healthier and more independent lives. Through supported accommodation, employment and training, homelessness prevention and personalised support, we help people create lasting change.

As we look ahead, we have ambitious plans to grow our impact, strengthen partnerships, increase fundraising and continue delivering high-quality, person-centred services. We are seeking passionate, values-led individuals to join our Board and help guide our future.

As a Trustee, you will provide strategic leadership, constructive challenge and oversight, working alongside fellow Trustees and our Executive Leadership Team to ensure Aspire remains well governed, financially sustainable and focused on delivering the greatest possible impact.

Previous Trustee experience is not essential. We welcome people who share our values, bring professional expertise and want to make a positive difference. A full induction and ongoing support will be provided.

We are particularly interested in people with experience in:

Fundraising, Communications and Social Media
Helping diversify income, build supporter engagement and raise Aspire's profile.

Charity Governance and Employment
Knowledge of the charity sector, governance, HR or employment law to support good governance and organisational development.

Social Housing and Welfare
Experience of housing, homelessness, welfare benefits or housing policy to strengthen our understanding of the sector and the people we support.

Charity Finance and Risk Management
Experience in finance, accountancy, audit or risk management to support effective financial oversight and long-term sustainability.

As a Trustee you will:

Time Commitment

 Volunteering with Victim Support in Devon and Cornwall

As a Volunteer in Devon and Cornwall your role will include:

• Supporting people to move forward after being affected by a wide range of crimes
• Completing support calls on a one-to-one basis with clients
• Primarily completing support via telephone
• Helping people impacted by crime across Devon and Cornwall

What do we ask of you?

In order to join us as a Service Delivery Volunteer, you must:

• Be 18 years of age or over.
• Be able to volunteer for at least 3 hours per week, for at least 12 months.
• Undertake training over a 10-week period – this includes five virtual training days as well as completing a workbook and online learning modules.
• Undertake an enhanced DBS check & be part of the DBS update service.
• Be able to provide two satisfactory references.
• Have an active email address that you are comfortable using in order to engage with VS communications.

Expenses

• All Victim Support volunteers are entitled to out-of-pocket expenses incurred whilst volunteering, including travel and lunch.

Gardening Volunteer – Day Care Centre

What You’ll Do

Support the development and maintenance of our allotment space at the Mabel Churn Day Care Centre. You’ll help create a calm, welcoming outdoor environment where older people can enjoy nature, take part in light gardening activities, and connect with others.

You will:

· Help maintain the allotment space (e.g. watering, weeding, planting, harvesting)

· Support the set-up and upkeep of planting areas, raised beds, or pots

· Encourage and support clients to get involved in simple gardening tasks

· Help keep the outdoor space safe, tidy, and accessible

· Work with staff to plan seasonal planting or small garden projects

· Report any concerns or maintenance needs to staff

Skills You’ll Use or Develop

· Interest in gardening or outdoor activities (no expert knowledge needed)

· Friendly and patient approach when engaging with older people

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

· Basic understanding of health and safety in an outdoor setting

Role Summary.

Creators with Purpose is Roots Academy's community of Muslim influencers and student content creators - a hand-picked group of relatable, authentic voices using their platforms to reach and uplift Muslim students across the country.

To grow and sustain it, we're looking for a Manager to be the heartbeat of this community. You'll onboard new creators, run our content calendar and review process, and keep a thriving group of creators supported, inspired and consistently producing content that reaches the exact audience we exist to serve. This is a relationship-first role for someone who loves bringing people together around a shared mission.

Key tasks

• Community management - Own and energise our creator community keeping it warm, active and supportive; welcome new creators, spark introductions, and encourage creators to learn from and uplift one another.

• Onboarding - Identify and reach out to potential creators, run friendly 1-2-1 welcome calls, share the vision and welcome pack, and bring new creators into the fold with as low a barrier to entry as possible.

• Content coordination - Run the content calendar end-to-end: agree each creator's posting frequency and dates, keep the Notion tracker current.

• Creative support - Keep creators inspired with prompts, content ideas and themed series (e.g. Freshers, exam season), and offer tailored concepts to those who want them while protecting each creator's own style and voice.

• Mentorship & belonging - Coordinate regular calls with the team, and help every creator feel like a genuine part of Team Roots.

• Tracking & reporting - Track creator output and reach, monitor how creators are driving students toward Roots workshops, and report progress and feedback.

We are seeking two enthusiastic and committed individuals to serve on our Board. This is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious organisation working at the intersection of law, campaigning and social justice. As a Trustee, you will help shape the future of PILC, ensuring that we remain true to our purpose while continuing to deliver meaningful impact for the communities we serve.

We are committed to developing and maintaining a Board that is as inclusive as possible and representative of the communities we work alongside. Therefore, having lived experience in an area of our work would be advantageous. We are particularly interested in applications from individuals who have legal expertise (ideally in the non-profit sector), or expertise in Human Resources or Finance.

As a member of the Board of Trustees, you will oversee the strategic direction, governance and financial sustainability of the organisation. You will help ensure that PILC has a clear strategy, that its resources are used effectively, and that its activities remain aligned with its charitable objectives and values. You will also provide constructive support and challenge to the Senior Management Team, helping the organisation to develop, grow and achieve its mission.

Trustees have collective responsibility for the governance of the charity. This means that decisions are made collectively by the Board and trustees share responsibility for those decisions, always acting in the best interests of PILC.

Please note that this is a voluntary position, but reasonable expenses will be reimbursed. The time commitment for this role is approximately 8-10 days per annum. The Board meets online on the 3rd Monday of every other month from 6-8pm and trustees are required to attend with their cameras on. All Board papers are circulated usually 2 weeks ahead of the meeting. All applicants must be based in the U.K. 

Duties
As a Trustee, you will be expected to:
• Attend bi-monthly Board meetings (held remotely), having read the papers in advance and being prepared to contribute constructively to discussion and decision-making.
• Attend the annual Board away day and Annual General Meeting (AGM).
• Support, promote and provide advice on PILC’s charitable purpose, vision, values and strategic objectives.
• Approve operational strategies, policies, and monitor and evaluate their implementation.
• Oversee PILC’s financial sustainability by reviewing and approving budgets, PILC’s financial statements and monitoring and evaluating financial performance.
• Ensure that the charity is well governed, effectively managed and compliant with its legal and regulatory obligations.
• Support the effective management of risk and ensure that appropriate systems of internal control are in place.
• Provide appropriate support, constructive challenge and accountability to the Director in the exercise of their delegated authority.
• Keep informed about developments affecting PILC, the non-profit legal sector and the wider operating environment.
• Contribute to the regular review and continuous improvement of the Board's effectiveness and governance arrangements.
• Exercise independent judgement, act with reasonable care and skill, and always act in good faith in the best interests of PILC’s, managing any actual or potential conflicts of interest appropriately.
• Act as an ambassador for PILC, promoting its work and using your skills, knowledge, experience and networks to support the organisation where appropriate.

Dorothy House is seeking an exceptional and inspirational leader to join its Board of Trustees with the intention of becoming the charity's next Chair.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced board leader to help shape the future of hospice and end-of-life care, providing strategic leadership, strong governance and influential external advocacy for one of the region's leading hospices. We are looking for an individual with the vision, credibility and commitment to support Dorothy House through its next phase of development and ensure it continues to deliver outstanding care and support for people and families at some of the most important moments in their lives.

As a Trustee and prospective Chair, you will help lead the Board in setting the organisation's long-term direction, ensuring effective governance, financial sustainability and organisational resilience. You will bring the ability to think strategically, navigate complexity, build strong relationships and act as an authentic ambassador for Dorothy House across a wide range of stakeholders and partners.

About the Role (Unremunerated Volunteer Position)

Appointment Process While this recruitment process is being undertaken with the intention of identifying Dorothy House's next Chair, appointment as Chair cannot take place until the individual has first been appointed as a Trustee. We are looking for team members who can commit for a minimum of 10 weeks, with adaptable profiles and who have the enthusiasm and energy we need to provide support in various areas across the organisation.

In this generalist role, you will find yourself responsible for a variety of tasks, helping to ensure that both our programme activities and day-to-day operations run smoothly. Second Tree works in a transparent way, in a challenging and changeable situation in the field; therefore, an ability to learn quickly and be open to feedback is vital. 

Your role would include:

The possible tasks included below are not exhaustive or rigidly defined; an exact role profile is dependent on the skill set of individual applicants. An average day might see you talking to students in a camp to tell them about a new class, or supporting the writing of a grant proposal. Tasks could loosely fall within 4 key areas:

Programmes

• Supporting programme coordinators in maintaining the day to day running of their activities with the Youth or Adult Education Programmes

• Supporting our children’s teachers or workshop facilitators in the planning or delivery of classes or excursions outside of camps

• Communicating key messages about our programmes to our students in camps

Admin, Finance & Logistics

• Supporting our management team in liaising with external partners

• Maintaining organisation-wide financial processes

• Coordinating the arrival and housing of incoming team members

Grants & Partnerships

• Supporting in the identification of relevant grants

Together Media is Learn Together CIC’s volunteer-led digital publication. We produce public-interest content covering news, social issues, community stories, politics and culture through videos, interviews, podcasts and short explainers.

We are looking for confident and enthusiastic volunteers to present content on camera and contribute to podcasts and interviews.

Key responsibilities

• Present scripted stories and explainers on camera
• Host or co-host podcasts and recorded discussions

About you

Previous presenting or media experience is welcome but not required. Training and guidance will be provided in research, fact-checking, interviewing, podcast planning, script delivery and on-camera presentation.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical media experience, develop published work and strengthen your professional portfolio.

Location and commitment

The role can be completed remotely or in person in Manchester. Opportunities are available during the week and at weekends, with a minimum commitment of two hours per week.

No specialist equipment is required. The only equipment you need is a smartphone for recording content.

Phases Social Enterprise is developing a project (‘SusBright’) to inspire more people in Brighton & Hove to make sustainable choices. The initial stage of the project has been the development of an App, which straddles the worlds of consumerism, citizenship and activism.

The App is nearing the end of the development phase and we need someone to help with the final stages of content creation and collation. This will include contact with local businesses and uploading and editing of content on Wordpress. The successful applicant will also be involved in the next stage of the project: building a network of sustainability-focused organisations across Brighton.  

Work on the App can largely be carried out on a remote basis, with occasional meetings with our CEO and App developer. Building the Network will include attendance at meetings with other local organisations to support our CEO.

You will need to be located in the Brighton & Hove area or thereabouts as this is the focus of the project going forwards.

You will have good attention to detail and should also have excellent communication skills. An interest in sustainability is indispensible. But you do not need a knowledge of  Wordpress – the basic requirements can easily be taught.

This is an opportunity to be involved, from an early stage, in the evolution of an exciting and innovative new project. The successful applicant will experience the development of a non-profit app from the inside and come into contact with a range of other businesses and organisations in the Brighton sustainability sector. They will also be ideally placed to apply for future paid roles as they arise within this project.

Hours can be flexible and subject to discussion. We will probably look for a minimum of one day a week.

This role is primarily in-person in Manchester, with some agreed tasks completed remotely where appropriate.

Position Summary

Solution Community is seeking an experienced, passionate Volunteer Development/Fundraising Network Senior Recruiter to attract, engage, and onboard talented fundraising and development professionals. This strategic volunteer role will help build a strong network of fundraising leaders, donor engagement specialists, grant professionals, and development experts who can contribute to the organization's long-term sustainability and impact.

The ideal candidate is an experienced recruiter with expertise in sourcing and recruiting talent within nonprofit development, philanthropy, fundraising, donor relations, corporate partnerships, or advancement functions.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition & Recruitment

• Develop and implement recruitment strategies to identify and attract fundraising and development professionals.
• Source, screen, interview, and assess candidates for volunteer and leadership opportunities within the fundraising network.
• Build and maintain talent pipelines across philanthropy, nonprofit development, donor relations, grants management, and corporate social responsibility sectors.
• Partner with organizational leaders to understand current and future fundraising talent needs.
• Ensure a positive and engaging candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.

Network Development & Community Building

• Expand and strengthen a diverse network of fundraising professionals, grant writers, development officers, donor relationship managers, and fundraising consultants.
• Establish relationships with professional associations, nonprofit networks, universities, and community organizations.
• Promote volunteer opportunities through networking, social media, and professional platforms.
• Help create a sustainable pipeline of fundraising talent and volunteer leaders.

Strategic Support

• Collaborate with fundraising and leadership teams to identify priority recruitment needs.
• Assist in recruiting volunteers for fundraising campaigns, grant initiatives, donor outreach, and partnership development efforts.

• Maintain candidate records and recruitment tracking through Dover, our applicant tracking system (ATS).
• Monitor recruitment metrics and provide updates on pipeline activities.
• Recommend innovative sourcing techniques and engagement strategies.
• Support continuous improvement of volunteer recruitment processes.

Qualifications

Required

• 5+ years of experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, executive search, or volunteer recruitment.
• Experience recruiting for fundraising, nonprofit development, donor relations, philanthropy, partnerships, or advancement functions.
• Strong sourcing, interviewing, and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently in a remote and collaborative environment.
• Passion for nonprofit, community impact, and mission-driven work.

Preferred

• Experience working with nonprofit organizations, charities, foundations, or social impact initiatives.
• Familiarity with fundraising functions including donor stewardship, grant development, major gifts, and corporate partnerships.
• Existing network within the nonprofit, philanthropy, or fundraising community.
• Experience with LinkedIn Recruiter, Dover (ATS), or volunteer management platforms.
• Background recruiting senior-level or executive volunteers is a plus.
