Age UK Sutton is a small independent charity dedicated to helping older people in our community to live well in later life. We are a network partner of Age UK, the influential national charity, and benefit from membership of a network of similar independent charities across the UK. We deliver a mixture of social and community activities while influencing strategy in Sutton. We provide vital information, expert advice and practical support. Our work enables older people to make informed decisions on finances, health, care, and wellbeing, and enables greater social connection and independence.
Location: Sutton, South West London (and online meetings)
Time Commitment:
- Quarterly Board meetings, three-hour Board meetings held virtually on Teams (twice a year), and alternately face-to-face meetings
- Quarterly Committee meetings (2-3 hours): Fundraising and Enterprise and / or Quality and / or Finance, Risk and Audit (most trustees are expected to attend 2 of the 3 standing subcommittees)
- Trustees with the capacity to do so also have the opportunity to support occasional projects or short-term working groups, supporting the CEO and wider leadership team.
Duration: A 3-year term (may be extended for two further 3-year terms)

This position is a Trustee role, sitting on Hidayah's board. The IT/Tech This role will oversee Hidayah’s IT infrastructure to ensure suitability and sustainability of charitable activities.
What are the responsibilities of this role?
This role will have the following duties, but are not limited to:
● To ensure Hidayah’s IT operating systems and equipment are fit for purpose

How much commitment is required?
We are flexible around your own schedule. However, the following commitments are in place for all members of the Hidayah Board:
● To be able to attend all Trustee meetings and to deliver a comprehensive report to the Trustee each meeting with updates and to completed actions as and when they appear
● To aim to attend all other planning meetings as necessary when close to Hidayah events as well as the events themselves (where possible due to geography)
● To help to fundraise for, and advertise, any Hidayah events and fundraising drives
● To be part of a communications group to keep up to date with Hidayah developments
● To contribute toward and to maintain the administration of our file sharing system ‘Google Drive’ so it is always up to date with clear records, templates and forms
● To check emails and to respond when needed
● Enthusiasm, dedication, responsiveness, flexibility and eagerness in supporting the aims, vision and mission of Hidayah

What do we expect from a Trustee: IT Tech Officer

The Role
We’re looking for an experienced engineer to act as a technical steward for the Bank.Green website, our primary public-facing platform, working alongside another senior engineer already on the project. Technical decisions are made in a collaborative, consensus-driven way, rather than top-down.
The site is transitioning to Astro, with a React-based frontend, and is deployed via Cloudflare. Content is managed via Prismic as a headless CMS, with data coming from internal GraphQL and REST APIs.
The platform serves roughly 5,000 pages, the majority of which are repeatable, programmatically generated bank profile pages built from shared templates and structured data. As a result, performance, caching, SEO, and build efficiency are key concerns.
This is a hands-on but flexible role, suited to someone who enjoys maintaining and improving real-world infrastructure that thousands of people rely on.

Main Responsibilities / Key Duties

Design, coordinate, and oversee the C.I.C.’s digital performance and analytics framework during the build and early growth phase.

Develop and maintain a coherent performance measurement approach that supports strategic decision-making across teams.

Ensure analytics practices reflect real organisational goals and values rather than vanity metrics.

Establish consistent data collection and reporting standards across platforms.

Oversee appropriate use of analytics and reporting tools.

Apply UK GDPR principles including data minimisation, accuracy, and appropriate retention.

Implement controls for sensitive data, including donor, supporter, and community engagement information.

Ensure performance reporting remains accessible and understandable for volunteers with varied technical confidence.

Work closely with Safeguarding, Fundraising, and Digital teams to ensure lawful and ethical use of performance data.

Provide regular insight and recommendations to leadership.

Help design the long-term analytics and reporting model for the C.I.C.
