Customer Service / Reception Volunteer

We’re looking for a friendly volunteer to be the first point of contact for clients visiting our Guildford office on Wednesdays and to start as soon as possible

What will you do?

Provide a customer facing reception service to clients who drop in to see us in our Guildford office, including:

• Ensuring relevant forms are completed
• Assigning clients to Advisers for more detailed support
• Booking appointments
• Monitoring the flow of clients in the drop-in
• Assist clients with form filling
• Complete day sheets
• Scan and upload documents to case recording system
• Write up notes on case recording system
• When the the drop-in service is at full capacity, ensuring that you understand the client’s issue and support them by providing information, signposting them to another, more appropriate organisation or another CASWS drop-in

Provide administrative support, including:

• Monitoring emails
• Answering client enquiries by email and phone
• Sending out appointment information

We ask all our volunteers to commit to volunteering one day a week for at least a year.

How much time do you need to give?

We are looking for someone to cover reception duties on Wednesdays in our Millmead, Guildford office between 9am and 4pm.

Once you’ve submitted your application, if shortlisted, you’ll be invited to an online taster session, which will provide an overview of volunteering for CASWS and the role itself. We plan to hold this on a Monday or Tuesday in June.

The Befriender 'In Home' Volunteer will play an important role by providing companionship to someone we support at our supported living service by spending time with them, visiting them in the home and doing activities they enjoy. These might include chatting over a cup of tea, reading books, playing board games, etc.

We empower student-led networks to deliver free, locally co-created, career-focused education to underserved regions.

Through PathFinder Organisation CIC (InStudents' spinout), we support international students navigating life in the UK, from pre-arrival all the way through to post-graduation. We are looking for a People & HR Volunteer to help us build and maintain the processes that keep our volunteer community running smoothly. This is a great opportunity for someone with some HR experience, or who is studying or training in HR, to apply their skills in a real-world social impact setting, with the guidance of a more experienced people professional already on the team.

Accountabilities

• Volunteer Onboarding: Support the delivery of a consistent, welcoming onboarding experience for new volunteers joining PathFinder
• Exit & Offboarding: Help maintain a proper volunteer exit process, including records of achievement and handover notes
• HR Compliance: Assist with keeping our documentation up to date, including volunteer agreements and risk management forms

Stepping Stones Learning and Leisure is a small, friendly charity based in Southwark, providing inclusive activities for adults with learning disabilities. We believe everyone should have the chance to express themselves, connect with others, and take part in activities that bring joy, confidence, and new skills. 

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Dance Fit Class Volunteer to support our weekly Thursday sessions 10.30am-12.30 or 1pm-3pm, held at St Faith’s Community Centre, Red Post Hill, SE24 9JQ (close to North Dulwich and Herne Hill stations). 

About Dance Fit

Dance Fit is a fun way to stay active through music and movement. Sessions are designed to improve fitness, flexibility and confidence in a supportive and enjoyable environment. Routines and exercises can be performed standing or seated, making the sessions accessible for everyone. The group learns simple routines that can also be practised at home, and each July learners have the opportunity to perform to friends and family at our Summer Show!

About The Role 

This role is ideal for someone who loves to move. You’ll support our tutor in delivering inclusive and fun classes for a small group of adults with learning disabilities. Every class is an opportunity for the learners to express themselves freely, socialise with others and feel the benefits of physical activity on their wellbeing.

As a Dance Fit Class Volunteer at Stepping Stones, you will: 

• Assist the tutor in setting up and closing down the studio space
• Encourage and support learners 
• Demonstrate movements
• Offer 1:1 or group support where needed to help participants engage 
• Help build a warm, inclusive atmosphere where everyone feels safe to express themselves

Chair of Trustees at Watford and Three Rivers Refugee Partnership (WTRRP)

Job summary: 

We're looking for a Chair of Trustees to help shape the strategic vision of WTRRP as we move forward into our 25th year as a charity. This would be someone to support us with our strategy in line with our mission and our values. In this role, you will lead the Committee and other Trustees co-chairs of the charity, share responsibility for the agenda and actions of Trustee meetings and AGM, improving good governance and acting as a senior ambassador of the organisation. We are looking for someone with enthusiasm, availability and leadership skills to work collaboratively with our small staff and our volunteers.

WTRRP exists to support asylum seekers and refugees in Watford and Three Rivers who do not yet have settled status in the UK or may have specific needs relating to their application process or welfare. The main services of the charity are a drop-in session and social hub every Tuesday (at St Mary’s Church in central Watford), ESOL classes, providing advice and financial support to its clients and assisting them to integrate into the local community.

The Partnership has grown dramatically over the past 5 years, which is why we are looking for a Chair to join us. WTRRP is run by a committee that meets typically every 1-2 months and it also provides supervision to our 3 staff members and support to our 70 volunteers.

We would welcome applicants with any of the following experience:

• Governance and previous Committee experience
• Business development and charitable fundraising
• Human resources and people management
• Lived experience of being a Refugee or Migrant
• Financial background

Principal responsibilities:

1. Be part of the Committee, supporting the organisation as it grows and develops.
2. Have availability to regularly attend the Tuesday hub/drop-in at St. Marys church from 11- 2pm to support the team.
3. Oversee the administration and coordination of sub-committees.
4. Serve as line manager to our Operations Manager, helping to conduct planned supervision and appraisals.
5. Represent the Partnership as required to the public or external parties such as funders and Community groups.

To support refugees and asylum seekers in developing their English language skills (ESOL – English for Speakers of Other Languages), helping them to build confidence, integrate into the community, and access education, employment, and essential services.

Key Responsibilities

· Assist in delivering ESOL classes to adult learners at varying levels of English proficiency

· Support learners one-to-one or in small groups with speaking, listening, reading, and writing

· Help prepare learning materials and classroom activities

· Encourage participation and build learners’ confidence in using English in everyday situations

Hidayah is a volunteer-led organisation supporting LGBTQ+ Muslims through community support, advocacy, education, and wellbeing initiatives. This role requires a minimum commitment of 4–5 hours per week, with additional time required during busy periods or organisational activities.

Purpose of the Role

The National Outreach Officer Trustee leads on developing and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders, community organisations, and outreach partners. The role supports Hidayah’s national growth and helps ensure LGBTQ+ Muslims can access inclusive support, representation, and community connections.

Core Responsibilities

• Act as a key point of contact between Hidayah and external organisations, community groups, and stakeholders.
• Build and maintain relationships with LGBTQ+ organisations, faith groups, educational institutions, and community networks.
• Promote Hidayah’s events, campaigns, and services across relevant communities and platforms.
