Research & Policy Officer (Volunteer)

Purpose: To support research / policy projects in areas of the UK, ensuring strategic alignment, quality assurance, and effective collaboration that drives systemic change for young people across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic oversight of research / policy projects, ensuring outputs are high-quality and impactful.

• Lead on drafting policy briefs and research reports, setting standards for evidence-based advocacy.

• Coordinate multi-stakeholder collaboration, i.e councils, commissions, and community organisations to deliver change.

• Identify emerging issues and opportunities, help in shaping the research agenda in line with organisational priorities.

The Branch Chair role is vital to the running of the branch as they act as a leader and a coordinator for the branch. Without these roles, we would not have as many branches as we do.

What you will be doing

• Planning, arranging, and chairing committee meetings and public meetings.
• Along with other committee members, representing the branch at external meetings e.g. with local services for autistic people.
• Delegating tasks to other committee members or volunteers
• Raising the profile of the NAS within your branch and local community.
• Ensuring your branch complies with NAS policies including risk assessment, data protection and safeguarding
• Monitoring branch income and expenditure in partnership with the treasurer and authorising branch payments
• Supporting fundraising in your branch
• Co-ordinating and promoting local campaigns and bringing others on board to help you

Role Summary.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Email Marketing Officer to support the planning and delivery of email campaigns that engage and inspire our audience. You will be responsible for creating, scheduling, and optimising emails to strengthen communication with students, parents, and supporters. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the email marketing efforts of a growing international education platform.

Key tasks

• Design, build, and schedule email campaigns using email marketing tools.

• Manage audience segmentation and ensure email lists are accurate and up to date.

• Collaborate with copywriters and designers to deliver engaging, on-brand email content.

• Conduct A/B tests to improve open rates, click-through rates, and overall performance.

We are looking for a reliable and hands-on IT Support (Onsite Volunteer) to ensure all technical equipment and POS (Point of Sale) systems are fully functional and ready for daily operations.

Key Responsibilities POS System Setup & Maintenance

• Set up and configure POS systems for daily use
• Ensure systems are logged in and ready before opening

Equipment Setup & Management

• Install and maintain computers, laptops, printers, and barcode scanners
• Ensure all devices are properly connected and working efficiently

Internet & Connectivity Support

• Maintain stable internet connection for POS and staff usage
• Troubleshoot WiFi and network issues

Daily Equipment Checks

• Check POS systems, printers, and scanners before operations begin
• Ensure printers are stocked (paper, labels, etc.)
• Report and resolve issues quickly

️ Onsite Technical Support

• Assist staff and volunteers with using systems and equipment
• Provide quick fixes for common technical issues
• Act as the first point of contact for IT-related support

Inventory & Asset Tracking

• Maintain records of all IT equipment and accessories
• Report damaged or missing items

 Workstation Setup

• Set up new stations for staff or volunteers
• Install required tools and ensure systems are ready to use

Troubleshooting & Escalation

• Resolve basic technical issues (restart systems, check connections, etc.)

Purpose of the Role

To join the board as a Volunteer Finanical Director, bringing governance knowledge and strategic thinking to strengthen board effectiveness, uphold the CIC's obligations, and ensure all decisions are made in the best interests of the community we serve.

Role and Responsibilities

1. Guide the Board

• Attend two to three board meetings per month, virtual or hybrid, and come prepared to contribute
• Help ensure decisions are made properly, recorded, and followed through
• Review and respond to decisions outside of meetings within 48 to 72 hours
• Support the review of policies and raise questions when something needs attention
• Support the development of projects and programmes by contributing ideas, strategic thinking, critical insight, and creative, innovative approaches, while bringing energy, boldness, and enthusiasm.

2. Keep Us on Track

• Contribute to strategic decision-making, policy approval, and organisational oversight
• Monitor organisational performance and support the Managing Director in delivery accountability
• Flag risks early and help ensure resources are used well and in line with our mission

• Understanding of organisational strategy, stakeholder engagement, and partnership development
• A genuine commitment to systemic change and the communities we serve

It would be great if you also have:

• Governance experience such as trustee, governor, or board-level involvement, though this is not essential
• Experience in a charity, CIC, or grassroots organisation
• Training and induction will be provided for the right candidate
