About the job

We're looking for two Education Quality Coordinator's to help make sure students' academic voices are heard loud and clear. You'll work closely with UAL staff and student leaders to deliver course-based initiatives, opportunities and events that make a real difference to the experience of our students. A big part of your role will be the annual cycle of recruiting, training and support course and school reps so they feel confident and capable in representing their peers. You'll work with students to collect and share feedback, run academic campaigns and help shape positive changes to courses across UAL. You'll also keep track of key data, and support targeted engagement initiatives, and make sure students feel a genuine sense of belonging through their academic journey. It's a hands-on role where relationship building and problem solving go hand in hand.

Who we are looking for ?

We want individuals who are organised, approachable, and love working with people. You should be comfortable building relationships with a wide range of students and staff, and able to explain processes clearly and simply. Experience in education, community development, or a similar role is a big plus - especially if you've delivered training or organised events before. You'll need strong data skills, from keeping accurate stats to analysing feedback and turning this into action. Being flexible, proactive and good at juggling projects will help you thrive. We are looking for a Student Advisor to join our Advice team, helping students navigate challenges and make the most of their time at UAL. You'll offer one-to-one and group advice on a range of academic (including appeals, academic misconduct, complaints and extenuating circumstances) and housing issues, signposting students to other useful services when needed. Sometimes you'll act as an advocate for students in university meetings or help them put together a strong case to get the outcome they're hoping for. You'll also play a big role in our outreach - running drop-ins creating resources and delivering activities to raise awareness of our services across various sites. In addition you'll contribute to service improvements, research projects as well as working with our student leaders on specific projects. It's a varied role where no two days are the same while making a real difference to students' lives.

You'll be a great communicator who can explain complex regulations in a clear, friendly way. We're looking for someone who's approachable, empathetic, and committed to supporting students with experience giving advice or providing welfare or support services. You'll need to be organised to manage a busy caseload, staying calm under pressure and handling sensitive information with confidentiality. Knowledge of housing or academic advice is a big plus and an understanding of the issues facing students in higher education will help you hit the ground running. We offer support to 16 customers across two locations: Hope House, a 10-bed supported housing facility, and Doddsfield Road, which has 6 floating support flats.

Hope House provides support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, following a shift rota system (staff on sleep-ins receive additional pay beyond the advertised salary). Doddsfield Road offers floating support during working hours.

The team consists of one Contract Manager, one Team Leader, and four Support Workers. Staff collaborate closely with the Slough Community Mental Health Team (SCMHT), and a designated Occupational Therapist works alongside the support staff. Customers also attend Hope College, facilitated by the Slough Mental Health Team, as part of their recovery process and preparation for independent living.

This position presents a valuable opportunity for support workers to gain extensive experience in the mental health sector, thanks to the strong partnership with SCMHT. We have also introduced training directly from SCMHT to help support staff better understand mental health diagnoses and manage crises with our customers on-site.

As our Regional Technical Adviser – Climate Resilient WASH, you will ensure the high technical quality of our climate resilient WASH programmes in the region and work closely with Country Programmes, partners and stakeholders to drive sustainable change.

In this role, you will:

• Provide technical guidance, quality assurance and support to country programmes including for climate resilient WASH programming, system strengthening and the sustainability of WASH services.
• Implement capacity building initiatives to enhance competencies of staff, partners and stakeholders to deliver sustainable and climate resilient WASH programming.
• Build and strengthen strategic partnerships, the knowledge base and thought leadership in WASH and climate resilient programming through networking, knowledge sharing and advocacy.
• Support country programmes to integrate and prioritise WASH Climate Resilient measures in key national policies, strategies, and planning frameworks such as NAPs and NDCs.
• Champion WaterAid’s commitment to equity, inclusion and safeguarding.

Requirements

To be successful, you will need:

• Extensive, relevant professional experience at a senior level in climate resilient, WASH-related programmes and policy advocacy for LMIC countries in rural, urban and climate affected contexts.
• Demonstrated experience in strengthening WASH systems and understanding of the WASH sector’s interaction with other systems such as climate change, health, urban planning.
• Excellent and up to date knowledge of technologies, approaches, technical standards and guidelines related to climate resilient and sustainable WASH relevant to South Asia and how to practically apply these to programming.
• Significant experience of working in a technical capacity at senior level in the South Asia region, preferably in at least one of the countries in which WaterAid operates.
• Willingness and ability to travel regionally, specifically to country programmes in Bangladesh, Nepal and Pakistan, and internationally (sometimes at short notice).

Although not essential, we’d prefer you to have:

• A chartered membership with a recognised professional association in a relevant technical field.
• Proven experience of stakeholder engagement that include government, private sector, and donors with high level of influencing skills.
• Good understanding and experience in National Adaptation Planning (NAP) and Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) revision and implementation, climate finance processes, modalities, and sources.

Responsibilities and Person Specification:

The Senior Individual Giving Officer will play a pivotal role in driving unrestricted income growth from individual supporters at Independent Age. Working closely with the Individual Giving Manager, you will lead on the planning and delivery of supporter acquisition, retention and stewardship activity. You’ll take ownership of key projects and manage multi-channel campaigns and donor journeys that deepen engagement, reduce attrition, and maximise lifetime value. From heartfelt appeals to personalised touchpoints, you’ll ensure every supporter feels valued and connected to our mission.

You will bring experience in managing the planning, budget, set-up, delivery and reporting and analysis of integrated multi-channel digital, direct and offline campaigns and activities that meet and exceed KPI’s. Digital expertise and experience working in a test and learn environment are also key. You’ll have an agile mindset, with the ability to work both proactively and reactively depending on changing priorities.  You must have a passion for, and affinity with, Independent Age’s cause. 

This is a hands-on role with plenty of potential to design and input your own approaches, activities and stewardship to achieve income growth and bring to life the varied work of Independent Age, inspiring supporter loyalty and long-term support.

Summary

We are looking for a highly organised and experienced HR Manager to lead and manage all aspects of human resources within Harris Garrard Academy. This pivotal role encompasses recruitment, payroll administration, staff welfare, compliance, and governance support.

Responsibilities

• Lead, inspire and motivate young people through positive, creative and developmental sessions and activities.

The Selection Criteria

Essential

Qualifications and experience

1. At least one year’s experience of delivering positive activities with young people (either in a voluntary or paid capacity).

2. Youth Work level 2 or alternative equivalent experience

3. Experience of inspiring and motivating young people from a variety of cultural, economic and social backgrounds.

4. Experience of planning, leading and facilitating both large and small group sessions, and 1 to 1 activity.

5. A Safeguarding and First Aid qualification or willingness to complete training.

Skills, Knowledge, and ability

1. An awareness of current socio-economic issues and trends which may affect young people and youth employment in the locations we work in.

Join Beacon to drive projects that place patients at the heart of translational research, shaping progress and improving outcomes with and for rare disease communities.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

Beacon, now in its second decade of operation, has experienced substantial growth over the last three years, including an organisational rebrand and expansion into international projects. We are now recruiting a Senior Patient and Scientific Engagement Officer to play a central role in delivering ambitious projects that put patients at the heart of translational research.

This role sits at the crossroads of patient involvement and scientific communication, building meaningful collaborations between patients, researchers, and other stakeholders. You’ll provide essential operational support and subject expertise to ensure projects run smoothly and reflect the real-world needs of the rare disease community.

You will contribute primarily to two of Beacon’s major collaborative initiatives: REMEDi4ALL, a European-wide drug repurposing platform with over 25 partner organisations, and the LifeArc Translational Research Centres for Rare Disease (LifeArc TrC4RD), a UK-wide partnership. In this role, you will work directly and regularly with partners across these consortia, encompassing patient group leaders, patient representatives, academic researchers, clinical trialists, and beyond. You will act as a vital interface between patients and researchers in both projects, coordinating activities, facilitating collaboration, and embedding patient perspectives throughout the work. While these will be your main focus, you will also support other initiatives across the charity, particularly those aimed at advancing scientific understanding of rare diseases and strengthening patient involvement in research.

This is a varied position offering the chance to apply and further develop your expertise across areas such as patient and public involvement, scientific content development, training, and stakeholder engagement. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Your main responsibilities will span aspects of project delivery, stakeholder engagement, and patient-centred scientific support. In this role, you will:

This is a mid-to-senior level role. Candidates should have professional experience in scientific engagement, patient involvement, or research coordination, and be ready to contribute confidently to collaborative consortium projects with external partners.

We are looking for someone with a strong commitment to patient-centric approaches, who is willing to advocate for patients’ perspectives and priorities, while also navigating the need for compromise and collaboration across multiple organisations.

Essential

• Relevant professional experience (e.g., life sciences, medical communication, translational research, or patient engagement), ideally accompanied by a scientific qualification.
• Experience in patient and public involvement or patient engagement within research, ideally in health contexts.
• Strong understanding of scientific processes, translational research, or clinical research, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to non-specialist audiences.
• Ability to work effectively within multi-partner or consortium projects, collaborating with external organisations.
• Confidence in liaising with a wide range of stakeholders, including patients, researchers, funders, and partner organisations.
• Experience developing accessible, patient-centred materials, training, or communications.
• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal skills and confidence in building relationships across diverse groups.
• Ability to work independently and proactively, while contributing effectively as part of a team.
• Commitment to patient-centred research and improving outcomes for the rare disease community.
• Flexibility to travel for in-person meetings, workshops, and events within the UK and internationally multiple times a year.

 Desirable

• Experience supporting or delivering training sessions, workshops, or webinars for patient or professional audiences.
• Familiarity with drug repurposing, translational research, or rare disease research environments.
• Experience managing or contributing to multi-stakeholder research projects.
• Experience working or volunteering in the charity or not-for-profit sector.
• An understanding of rare diseases, health charities, or small-organisation dynamics
