Are you interested in helping to save wildlife? We are Swan Lifeline, based on Cuckoo Weir Island in Eton Berkshire, and our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and release sick and injured waterfowl.

We’re dependant on Volunteers and offer a very rewarding experience where you will learn lots and share amazing experiences as we transform lives. This volunteering role involves attending waterfowl who need rescuing and/or transporting to our site in Eton. 

We’re looking for 2 types of specialist Volunteers: You could do either or both.

Rescuer (Home based): Rescuing swans and other waterfowl from home. You’ll only do simple rescues to start with i.e. moving a swan from a garden or road etc. (beginners will not be asked to attend water-based rescues). Requires confidence handling large birds (full training given) and a good level of physical fitness. We will set you up with equipment.

Driver: Collecting waterfowl (usually ducklings, cygnets, geese etc.) and dropping them to our site or transporting birds to a different rescue centre.

We do have a few requirements for the Rescue and Driver Volunteer role:

· You live no more than 50 miles radius from postcode SL4 6SS

· You have a full, clean driving license and your own vehicle

· You can work independently once fully trained (full training given at our site in Eton)

· Are over the age of 18 (sadly, our insurance doesn’t cover Minors)

· You have a passion for Swans and are comfortable (after training) handling large birds

· You are willing to join the WhatsApp group that we use to communicate. We post rescues and collections to the WA group, and we ask you to respond if you are able to go. There is no obligation to respond or attend if you are unable.

Richmond Carers Centre, a network partner of Carers Trust, is a registered charity providing information, support, advice and a voice for carers living and caring in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. The Carers Trust conducted an Adult Carer Survey Report 2023 that quoted “Unpaid carers are not unsung heroes. We are forgotten, neglected and burnt out”. Our services are vital in being able to support them with a range of services to improve their wellbeing and to give them a voice. Carers UK research in 2022 estimates the number of unpaid carers could be as high as 10.6 million within the UK. Richmond Carers Centre currently has 2720 registered carers as of May 2026. This comprises of 2134 adult carers and 586 young carers.

Helping Carers to Live Well is our organisational aim. We are looking for someone that would like to volunteer their time to help us to provide a coordinated approach in supporting unpaid adult carers in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.

As a Volunteer, you will be part of a small, dedicated team that provides a range of services to adult carers. The focus of this volunteer role is to support in the delivery of the activity and leisure break programme. Using a welcoming approach, you will lead and support in activities and events that give carers the opportunity to socialise with others carers and have respite from their caring role. We encourage volunteers to come with their own skillset and ideas to support with providing a range of creative activities and engaging events that helps to enhance carers’ health and wellbeing. Will you share your counselling or psychotherapy skills as a counsellor or therapist to join an online counselling service for patients and families affected by a chronic pain condition (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome)?

We're looking for 3 qualified counsellors, psychotherapists or psychologists volunteers ideally with some experience of working with chronic pain patients or lived experience of chronic illness, who may want to volunteer their skills supporting our adult service users (aged 18 & over) and help us to continue developing a mental health support service. 

As a Volunteer Counsellor/Therapist you’ll be providing remote counselling/therapy support services to adults aged 18 and over many of whom are isolated and in need of mental health services. You’ll be providing one-to-one counselling/therapy sessions online via Zoom or by phone. With your recognised counselling qualifications and experience you will be an asset to our small charity and to our services users.  

Depending on your qualifications, skills and experience, our volunteer counsellors / therapists provide person centred counselling (general talking counselling) or integrative counselling, or specialist services such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), ACT, CFT and EMDR for CRPS patients, or their families & close relatives.

People will be referred both by health or legal professionals as well as having patients and carers themselves referring into to the service.

In this role you’ll be able to develop your counselling and therapy skills, organisation, communication and team working skills.

Most importantly you’ll be providing essential services that help make sure no one has to face CRPS alone. Be the hope for CRPS.

What the role involves

This role may vary depending on needs, but is likely to include:

• Undertake client assessments following triage by Clinical Lead, followed by counselling / therapy (via Zoom or phone) to our clients, offering up to 20 sessions for each client plus a check in and 4 psychometric assessments

• Providing one-to-one counselling sessions to clients aged 18 & over

• Update our database with the client’s information, sessional notes and session attendance

• Maintain succinct, relevant session notes and store these confidentially and securely in acccordahce with GDPR

• Attending and participating in monthly group supervision support of 1.5 hours a month

• Attend CPD training to ensure your knowledge stays current

• Participating in volunteer meetings
• Maintaining client confidentiality, upholding data protection and equal opportunities principles

We can support you to develop the skills you need for this role, including a full induction. You will have a chance to discuss your role and any additional needs with us. We can offer you a supervisor as well as expenses for annual insurance and an external supervisor if required.

Essential

• Be a member (including student membership) of one of the recognised membership organisations (see below)
• Level 4 Diploma level qualifications as a minimum (unfortunately no students at this time), Degree or Masters in Counselling, Counselling/Clinical Psychology, Psychotherapy, Art Therapy, EMDR 
• Minimum of 100 hours supervised

We’re looking for a friendly volunteer to be the first point of contact for clients visiting our Guildford office on Wednesdays and to start as soon as possible

What will you do?

Provide a customer facing reception service to clients who drop in to see us in our Guildford office, including:

• Ensuring relevant forms are completed
• Assigning clients to Advisers for more detailed support
• Booking appointments
• Monitoring the flow of clients in the drop-in
• Assist clients with form filling
• Complete day sheets
• Scan and upload documents to case recording system
• Write up notes on case recording system
• When the the drop-in service is at full capacity, ensuring that you understand the client’s issue and support them by providing information, signposting them to another, more appropriate organisation or another CASWS drop-in

The Lysene Foundation is a start‑up charitable organisation inspired by the micronation known as the Principality of Lys — a creative community rooted in the classical arts, architecture, and beauty of the French Renaissance, Baroque, Beaux‑Arts, and the age of Humanism and Enlightenment.

We believe in a new Renaissance for Europe and the wider world. Our mission is to bring the cultural and community spirit of Lys to life through accessible public programmes, including community events, educational initiatives, exhibitions, publications, artistic opportunities, and more.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a creative, organised, and visionary Head of Programmes & Events to design and lead the foundation’s cultural and educational activities. This is a senior volunteer role ideal for someone who enjoys shaping meaningful public experiences, curating cultural content, and bringing ideas to life through events and programmes.

You will develop our programme strategy, design a diverse calendar of events and initiatives, and oversee their delivery with the support of volunteers and partner organisations. As we grow, you will build and lead a dedicated programmes and events team.

This is a rare opportunity to shape the cultural output of a new foundation from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the foundation’s global programmes and events strategy.

• Design a varied programme of cultural, educational, and community activities aligned with our mission.

• Oversee planning, coordination, and delivery of events, workshops, exhibitions, talks, and public initiatives.

• Collaborate with artists, educators, cultural partners, and internal teams to create high‑quality programming.

• Establish processes, templates, and best‑practice frameworks for programme delivery.

• Manage programme timelines, budgets (where applicable), and volunteer involvement.

• Evaluate programme impact and continuously refine offerings.

• Build and lead a programmes and events team as the foundation grows.

• Work closely with senior leadership to ensure programmes support organisational goals.

• Ensure all activities reflect the aesthetic and cultural values of the Principality of Lys.

Written Communication and Programme Documentation

• Lead the drafting, editing, and refinement of supporting programme documents, including country reports, concept notes, post-programme notes, and partner-facing materials.
• Ensure all written outputs are clear, accurate, audience-appropriate, and aligned with Professors Without Borders' voice, messaging, and strategic priorities.

Graphic Design and Branding

• Support the visual design and presentation of programme documents and publications, ensuring materials are professional, accessible, and consistent with brand standards.
• Maintain visual identity across Professors Without Borders outputs, from internal templates to external-facing publications.

Programme Support

• Maintain a working understanding of all active programmes from inception to completion, ensuring written and visual outputs reflect current programme status and needs.
• Assist with logistics, partner meetings, and on-the-ground support during programme delivery as needed
