Salary: £29,151.91 (£32,727.26 if based in London/receiving London Office Allowance) plus competitive pension
Location: Flexible, hybrid. If you are based in London or receiving London Office Allowance you are required to attend the London office twice a week. Role Purpose:
As a Senior Debt Adviser, you will work with, support, assist and represent vulnerable people of all ages and abilities to improve their financial situation and wellbeing. This will involve supporting young people to engage in positive and constructive activities, attend Youth Justice Service or Probation appointments and creating opportunities for their personal, social and emotional development
You will work alongside the employment support manager to plan and deliver the employment group, supporting participants that attend this group and leading specific employment programmes. As manager of the key work project you will oversee the small team of key workers, provide support, guidance and supervision. You will be involved in monitoring and reporting for the project, collecting feedback from participants. You will manage referrals to the project from other organisations including schools, social services, probation and the youth justice service.
About You:
You must have proven experience of working directly with young people in a youth work or key work setting, providing one to one support. You will have the ability to empathise and mediate for young people, a strong understanding of the local area, barriers facing young people, the interplay between material disadvantage, vulnerability and social exclusion and be highly skilled in diplomacy, professional distance, demonstrating empathy, boundaries and sound judgement. We are recruiting for a compassionate, organised, and proactive Peer Support Lead to support our hepatitis C peer project in the Oxford & Thames Valley area. Peers use their lived experience to raise awareness of hepatitis C, reduce stigma, and help people access testing and treatment.
Working alongside healthcare professionals, drug and alcohol services, homelessness services, and community organisations, you will recruit, train and support volunteer peers to deliver hepatitis C awareness raising, practical and emotional support.
This is a varied and rewarding community-based position involving travel across the Oxford and Thames Valley region.
About you
We are looking for someone who can build trust and engage people with complex needs in a respectful, non-judgemental way. You’ll be a good communicator, confident working with partner services and supporting volunteers, with good organisational skills and an understanding of confidentiality, professional boundaries and managing risk.
We welcome applications from people with either lived experience or professional experience relevant to the role. This may include hepatitis C, drug or alcohol use, homelessness, the criminal justice system, or supporting people facing similar challenges.

About the role
You will deliver high quality housing advice and advocacy in line with the hub’s local community priorities and work with people who are experiencing homelessness and bad housing to identify issues facing local communities.You will plan and deliver casework to individuals and communities to resolve their housing situation and engage with community groups, local organisations and individuals to understand local housing issues and raise awareness of people’s rights.
The role also works in local community settings and with community groups to deliver advice and rights awareness workshops and make sure that people with lived experience of homelessness have opportunities to share their story, give their opinions and participate in the design and delivery of Shelter services. Offering day to day support to volunteers, providing learning, shadowing and mentoring and being a consistent role model for our values are also key aspects of the role.
About you
You are able to listen to, engage and work with individuals and communities, including people with lived experience of homelessness. You will have experience, knowledge of and/or proven ability in housing and homelessness advice and advocacy and are able to progress to specialist level knowledge, as well as the ability to carry out casework related interviews, maintain detailed case records, advise and support clients to make informed decisions.A proven record of delivering group workshops and presentations is essential, as is a collaborative, flexible and professional approach to your work.

About the Team
The Lancashire Hub has 25 staff and you will be a key member of the team defending the right to a safe home. Each of Shelter’s hubs has its own local priorities based on the issues our clients have. For Lancashire these are Homelessness and temporary accommodation, the private rented sector and social housing and people living in poverty.
