The postholder will play a key role in strengthening national, regional and local responses to violence against women and girls (VAWG) affecting Black, minoritised and migrant women. They will design, develop and deliver a high-quality, influential training programme for statutory agencies, voluntary sector organisations and other key stakeholders on VAWG, including domestic abuse, harmful practices such as ‘honour’-based abuse, force marriage, and related forms of gender-based violence.

The role will have a particular focus on the intersections between VAWG, immigration and asylum systems, and no recourse to public funds (NRPF), ensuring that professional responses are rights-based, trauma-informed and grounded in an understanding of structural racism and gender inequality.

Working collaboratively with SBS colleagues, project partners and, where appropriate victim-survivor, the postholder will ensure that training is informed by lived experience and SBS’s long-standing specialist practice, contributing to improved policy, practice and outcomes for Black, minoritised and migrant women.

The postholder will also contribute to the wider work of SBS, supporting the organisation’s strategic objectives, feminist values and commitment to challenging violence against women and girls in all its forms.

Job Purpose

• The hospital to home service works collaboratively with hospitals to support people
when they are discharged from hospital to return home. As a Hospital to Home
Outreach Worker you will provide temporary practical and emotional support to service
users within their home and make sure they understand the care and treatment choices
available to them. The service is time limited, usually up to 4 or 6 weeks, to adjust and
settle back in their homes.

Key Tasks

• Assess the needs of service users either in hospital before discharge, or in their homes,
and understand what barriers and enablers there might be to moving home.
• Aid the discharge process and improve patient experience through tasks such as:
• Key cutting
• Co-ordinating with colleagues for the setup of the home environment
• Checking heating, electric and gas is functional prior to discharge
• Allowing access to the property for cleaning/repairs
• Provide (and/or arrange) the practical and emotional support needed to enable
service users to move home and/or remain safely at home.
• Be vigilant and make referrals/signpost for additional needs that our wider team, or
partners can support. E.g. for benefit checks, energy advice, carers support,
befriending.
• Help maximise service user independence by adopting an enabling approach.
• Develop a listening and caring relationship with the service user and their
families/carers.
• Provide domestic practical support within the home such as:
• Light cleaning,
• Washing (e.g. bedding),
• Changing bed sheets etc.
• Prepare and service drinks and simple meals with or for the service user customer
ensuring nutritional needs are met.
• Accompany service user outside the home e.g. hospital/GP appointments etc.
• Support customers with other tasks e.g. making telephone calls on their behalf,
reading and responding to correspondence, completing simple forms (training will be
provided) as directed by the customer etc.
• Ensure services provided by AUKEL in the community are safe and person centred.
• Report safeguarding concerns, in accordance with AUKEL safeguarding procedures.
• Work within AUKEL’s expectations of professional boundaries and confidentiality.
• Provide cover in the case of sickness and annual leave periods of colleagues.
• Support service user reviews, ensuring all visiting information is uploaded on to
AUKEL’s organisational case management system.

Administration

• Input all records, reviews, and visiting information to service user’s case notes in a
timely manner to maintain up-to-date and accurate records on AUKEL’s case
management system (currently Charity Log/Call-round App).
• Report all “no access” failed visits, or changes in service users’ condition or
circumstances in accordance with AUKEL’s policies and procedures.
• Ensure service user comment sheets are completed.
• Support the return of customer comment sheets and general feedback in respect of
your own service users.

Quality

• Ensure services provided in the community are delivered in line with the Care Quality
Commission (CQC) principles.
• Deliver all work in line with AUKEL quality mark standards.
• Commit to undertaking the Care Certificate, if not already held or in possession of NVQ
level 2.
• Complete essential training as required by AUKEL to provide safe services.

Liaison

• Work in collaboration with other agencies providing support within the customer's
home.
• Work under the direction of the service manager and project officer/s.
• Represent AUKEL and participate in appropriate external meetings and events to
remain aware of local, regional, and national issues affecting quality and compliance
issues affecting care and home support services.

General

• Meet regularly with your line manager for support, supervision, and appraisal.

We are seeking a Trusts Fundraising Officer to join our ambitious trusts and foundations team, supporting delivery of the trusts fundraising plan and maximising grant income. The successful candidate will contribute to developing compelling proposals to secure funding, provide excellent stewardship of donors to build long term relationships, and research new trust prospects.

Main tasks and Responsibilities

1. To support the Head of Trusts Fundraising in implementing the three-year strategic plan for Trust Fundraising, and in delivering an effective annual plan and budget that will enable Action Medical Research to maximise income from charitable trusts and foundations.

We are recruiting a Group Worker to work within our Barnet service. Our ideal candidate will have the skills and experience to assess and engage with people who use our service, ensuring that they access the right intervention at the right time, in a way that best meets their needs.

Hours: Part Time. 22.5 hrs per week

Full Time Salary: £27,861.26 - £32,002.35 dependent on experience (based on full time hours, pro rata for part time)

Allowance: £2195.72 Outer London Weighting, pro rata 

Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

Responsibilities

About the role: 

• Supporting service users from point of entry into the service and through their treatment/recovery journey 
• Tailor specific workshops around the needs of the SUs and monitor group uptake and interest to assist in programme development.
• Reducing drug and alcohol related harm to service users and the wider community 
• Promoting carer, service user and community involvement 
• Providing advocacy for access to partnership services 
• Working with service users to support social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives: promoting recovery, resilience, peer support and self-determination 

About you: 

• Have a strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience of working within a similar field 
• Experience of working with groups/pods and managing group dynamics, such as conflict or challenging behaviour
• Must have previous substance misuse group work experience
• Be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written with good IT skills 
• Proactive and able to work on own initiative with excellent time management and prioritising skills 
• Have a good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and good practice 
• Be a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders 
• Ability to manage change successfully in a way that prioritises the needs of service users 
• Understand the importance of information governance processes and commit to follow and apply all necessary safeguards 
• Seek out learning opportunities to improve and broaden your professional knowledge and skills and to contribute and oversee the learning and development of others

About the role

We’re looking for a passionate and proactive Volunteer Development Officer to help grow and strengthen our volunteer community. You’ll play a key role in attracting people from a wider range of ethnic backgrounds, reducing barriers to participation, and ensuring volunteers feel valued, supported and heard, while championing equity, diversity and inclusion.

You’ll work closely with volunteers and colleagues across the organisation to deliver positive volunteer experiences and help shape our Volunteering Team Plan. You’ll inspire involvement, build strong stakeholder relationships, and communicate effectively with diverse audiences, creating engaging communications that showcase St Christopher’s as a great place to volunteer.

What you’ll be doing:

• Acting as a key point of contact for volunteers, responding to enquiries in a friendly, professional and timely way.
• Supporting volunteers with queries or concerns, using agreed processes and escalating when appropriate.
• Helping to grow and diversify our volunteer base by supporting inclusive recruitment and flexible and micro-volunteering opportunities.

• Leading on volunteer engagement, reward and recognition activities, including events, awards and Volunteers’ Week.
• Coordinating the Volunteer Voices group and volunteer feedback activity, using insight to improve the volunteer experience.

Do you want to join an organisation committed to addressing low literacy levels amongst people in prison?
 
Shannon Trust are delighted to be working with His Majesty’s Prison & Probation Service (HMPPS) to provide peer-led learning programmes at HMP Brixton. Working closely with the prison and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will lead the delivery and development of our prison-based reading and numeracy programme, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.
 
Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach.
 
This role is a fixed-term role until 2nd June 2026, with the opportunity to be made permanent subject to contract award.
 
The role will be prison-based.
