Job description

Family Team Recovery Worker

£28,426 FTE (£26,530 for 35 hours)

Brighton and Hove

Contract type: Fixed-Term (1 year), Part Time

Hours: 35 hours

Are you passionate about supporting families affected by substance use to achieve lasting change? If so, this is an exciting opportunity to join Oasis Project, an award-winning charity delivering specialist drug and alcohol treatment and recovery services for women, children and families.

As a Family Team Recovery Worker, you will work within a trauma-informed, gender-responsive and child-centred service, providing structured support to women and families with complex needs. You will play a key role in delivering Oasis Project's Parenting Our Children, Accessing Recovery (POCAR) programme, working directly with mothers and, where appropriate, fathers who may be involved with Children's Social Care.

This is a varied, rewarding and sometimes emotionally demanding role where you will work within a team to manage a caseload, deliver individual and group interventions, contribute to safeguarding and child protection processes, and work closely with Children's Social Care and partner agencies to support positive outcomes for families.

You will be confident working independently in the community, including some lone working, while maintaining strong professional boundaries and building trusting relationships.

You will have experience supporting people affected by substance use or other complex needs, along with experience of safeguarding, caseload management and multi-agency working.

Relevant Health and Social Care experience and / or a qualification, is essential. Knowledge of recovery approaches, trauma-informed practice and safeguarding procedures is also required.

Most importantly, you will be compassionate, resilient and committed to delivering person-centred support that empowers women and families to reach their potential.

This post is subject to an Enhanced DBS check, including a barred list check. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.

Please note: This role is restricted to female applicants only, as being female is a genuine occupational requirement under Schedule 9, Paragraph 1 of the Equality Act 2010.

If you're looking for a role where you can make a genuine difference to the lives of women, children and families, we'd love to hear from you.
