The National Society for Education (NSE) is seeking an Administration Officer who will work across two teams:
- Operations Team - providing support on procurement, contracts, governance, and data protection.
- Curriculum and Inclusion Team - offering administrative support for a few hours each week.
This is a fixed-term role until 31 December 2026 to cover the substantive post-holder during their secondment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage open contracts, including:
- Completing IR35 assessments
- Processing procurement and contract request forms
- Sending contracts for signing and maintaining trackers
- Liaising with Finance for supplier setup
- Provide diary management support and resolve scheduling conflicts
- Assist with event delivery (Eventbrite listings, room bookings, catering)
- Minute meetings and support governance activities
- Create and manage online forms and maintain the Office Manual
- Respond to queries and manage shared inboxes
- Coordinate weekly team huddles and send e-cards for birthdays
Key Role Requirements
- The post-holder will need to travel on occasion. This could be for NSE Team Days, NSE Residential (one overnight stay in the Autumn each year), Operations Team Days, or other events such as the National Conference. It is anticipated that there will be approximately 12 travel days per year, although this will vary.
- This is a remote role, and can be fulfilled as a fixed-term contract until 31 December 2026 or as a secondment.
- A basic DBS check will be required as part of our pre-employment checks.

- A salary of £34,801 per annum, plus age-related pension contributions between 8-15% of salary. We will also match any pension contributions you make up to an additional 3% of your salary.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Processes
- Ensure accurate income/expenditure recording, bank reconciliations, and daily donation processing.
- Manage monthly accounting routines, prepare management accounts, and lead budget/forecast reviews.
- Coordinate annual and strategic budgeting, financial reporting, and analysis.
- Oversee income reconciliation across multiple streams and liaise with fundraising teams.
- Review and process drawdown payments to member agencies.
- Maintain and update accounting systems and support procurement processes.
Financial Controls
- Lead annual accounts preparation and audits; ensure regulatory compliance.
- Manage pension schedules and benefits compliance.
- Ensure tax compliance (VAT, Corporation Tax, Employment Taxes).
- Audit gift aid claims and maintain robust financial control environment.
- Update financial policies, procedures, and systems, support due diligence standards.
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Oversee appeal finances, income tracking, and fund allocation.
- Coordinate governance processes (e.g., Indicator of Capacity) with member agencies.
- Monitor legacy income and liaise with fundraising/legal teams.
- Deliver annual report and accounts; produce reports for executive team and committees.
Leadership & Team Management
- Deputise for the Director of Finance and Resources.
- Prepare papers for finance committees and membership groups.
- Oversee finance team members and provide leadership support.

*This role sits within a pay grade with a pay range of £32,395 to £48,593. Key responsibilities
· Lead on the design, development and implementation of the Community Outreach Project Scotland.
· Identify and develop new partnerships and opportunities to help grow and expand project and impact.
· Assess and monitor risks, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with relevant policies and regulations.
·Contribute to the organisation approach to risk management
· Lead on and manage the project budget and programme evaluation and reporting.
· Overall responsibility for groups of inexperienced participants in outdoor settings using industry best
practice in risk management
· Capture success stories, case studies and good practice in how our work makes a difference.
· Work with the Scotland’s director and fundraising team to secure the funding and support required to sustain and expand project.
· Develop effective ways to build bridges between excluded communities and existing Ramblers walking groups by building strong and proactive relationships with volunteers.
· Engage and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to provide accessible and sustainable walking experiences.
· Contribute to GB-wide strategic approach to community engagement with those who face the greatest barriers to benefit from being outdoors

· Hill and Moorland or Mountain leader qualified (or trained with assessment pending) and a valid 16 hour Outdoor First Aid Certificate

Job description
The Capacity Development unit seeks an officer to support the implementation of the Advocacy Institute programme.The Advocacy Institute is a flagship programme of the NCDA that strengthens NCD civil society with a focus on coalition building and advocacy. It includes Seed, Accelerator and Regional tracks reflecting the different levels of readiness of alliances and their needs. The Seed track supports the establishment and strengthening of NCD civil society networks incountries/regions where these are non-existent or nascent. The Accelerator track works with established NCD alliances to spur advocacy efforts where there are windows of opportunity for specific policy change. The Regional track supports coalition building, advocacy and accountability opportunities of regional alliances. The programme supports selectedgeographies via a combination of grants, technical assistance, peer-to-peer learning, and training; the position will also support the delivery of such offerings.
The Capacity Development Officer will support the roll-out of the Seed and Accelerator tracks, currently in the last year of the Advocacy Institute third phase 2024-2026, and its work with different national alliances aiming to increase the capacity of NCD alliances to drive effective locally-owned advocacy campaigns. In 2026, the officer will also support the evaluation process for the third phase and the design and scoping of the Advocacy Institute fourth phase.
Core responsibilities:
•Support the roll out of Advocacy Institute particularly the seed and accelerator tracks in their different components: grants, technical support, and trainings.
•Support the CD unit in grant management duties, including grantee communications, revision of technical and financial proposals, grant award and grantee reporting.
•Support the organisation of the Advocacy Institute trainings, webinars and events as required, includingparticipant support, administrative functions, supporting curriculum development, and evaluation.
·Support the evaluation process of the third phase of the Advocacy Institute (2024-2026).
·Support the scoping of the fourth phase of the Advocacy Institute.
·Leverage NCDA expertise providing technical assistance to alliances and facilitating networking opportunities, enable access to NCDA expertise, advocacy advice and support, and also access to a broader network of advocates who can provide peer-to-peer support.
•Support the provision of written content to promote regional and national activity through NCD Alliancecommunication channels, including social media and website.
•Support the maintenance of regular communications with national NCD alliances for advocacy and network updates.
•Support the maintenance of an updated contacts database of regional and national NCD alliances.
•Support the development of research and knowledge products as needed (e.g., civil society mappings,guides, reports, programme documentation, etc.).
•Support the maintenance of up-to-date Capacity Development content in the NCDA website.
•Handle administrative responsibilities in support of Capacity Development activities as needed.
•Support the mobilisation of regional and national NCD alliances in support of global advocacy campaigns,including Global Week for Action, and any other opportunities.
Required competencies:
·Advanced university degree in public health, international relations, public policy, or similar, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in the non-profit area.
·Demonstrated interest and understanding of global health and development; policy-oriented research and advocacy, knowledge of NCDs would be ideal, particularly on aspects related to NCD prevention (e.g., alcohol control, food policies, environmental health/air pollution) and control (e.g. access to medicines, Universal health coverage, primary health care, NcDs/HIV integration) and NCD financing. Health policy and/or public health background is preferred.
·International work experience is highly desired, as well as professional knowledge of research, advocacy, policy and/or programmes.
·Excellent organisational and strategic planning skills and ability to successfully manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
·Capacity to work independently and collaboratively in an international team environment with solid interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
·Excellent judgment, strategic thinker, initiative taker.
·Excellent analysis, writing and oral communications skills in English – foreign language skills are a plus (Spanish and/or French).

The Role:

Women in Prison’s Project Workers deliver high-quality, trauma-informed, independent advocacy for women in communities and in prisons, which focuses on early intervention, and holistic provision as part of a ‘whole system’ multi-agency response that looks to address the root causes of women’s offending. About the Role
As a Senior Community Link Worker, you will have a developmental role as well as providing on-going support. You will be responsible for developing positive, working relationships between the Community Link Worker team, Primary Care and local community resources. You will work to ensure that people referred from Primary Care to the Community Link Worker service benefit from community resources which can contribute to improvement of their mental and physical health outcomes. You will contribute to community development in your local area of work by working with community organisations
You will carry case loads for on-going work with specific individuals for developing and reviewing personal support plans, and provide oversight of personal support plans designed and implemented by Community Link Workers. Working closely with Community Link Workers in a guidance and/or support and supervision role, you will promote good working practice and staff development.
