South London Citizens 

South London Citizens is a thriving chapter with a growing team of ~18 organisers and project staff. We are building the power of communities in South London through borough alliances (in Greenwich, Lewisham, Southwark, Lambeth, Wandsworth, Merton, Croydon) and the wider region by developing community leadership and supporting people to take action on what matters most to them. Over the past three years, we have worked in partnership with mental health trusts to deliver a pioneering organising project, South London Listens (SLL), to prevent mental ill-health, and more recently with wider South London NHS leaders to take action on a range of issues (from low wages to housing conditions) that impact our communities’ health.

Purpose 

We are looking for two Associate Organisers to join our thriving and dynamic team in South London building the power of local communities. These roles will support local organising, and have a specific focus on health and living wage organising.

In this exciting and innovative role, you will work with community organisations, including faith institutions, schools, universities, and community groups. Your primary responsibility will be to

1. build ‘Be Well’ teams to support the wellbeing of their communities, as part of the South London Listens partnership; 

2. find and develop new community leaders within their organisations; and 

3. take action to tackle the social determinants of health inequality (e.g. lack of migration status, racism, housing conditions, low wages and precarious work).

One or both of the roles will also include specific organising with low paid workers to lead the fight for a real living wage and living hours.

A central focus of an Associate Organiser is their own development: learning the craft of Community Organising under the guidance of an experienced Community Organiser. An Associate Organiser is working towards becoming a competent practitioner of the craft of broad-based community organising methodology, and focuses on the building of relational power, the recruitment and retention of dues-paying institutions, the development of leaders, the strengthening of member institutions, leader-led public actions, and the winning of systemic change. Your learning and development will be paramount in the first few months as the responsibilities given to your experience and skills develop.

Main Responsibilities 

Working as an Associate Organiser in South London for Citizens UK your main responsibilities will be to:

Grow and deliver on the priorities of South London Listens and our broader Health organising 

• Build and support new Be Well Hubs in a range of institutions in your allocated boroughs. Including identifying new institutions, delivering training, and supporting them once they are established.

• Work with other organisers to deliver on the priorities identified by communities that are part of the South London Listens project

• Ensure reporting and capturing of stories of the South London Listens project are captured and shared to celebrate and grow the project.

At least one of the roles includes supporting our organising efforts for more just work and wages 

• Identify and develop worker leaders

• Take action with South London Citizens leaders to increase the number of living wage and living hours employers in London 

• Develop and deliver community organising training for worker leaders 

Build relational power to further the goals of CUK 

• Actively participate in the development of a comprehensive power analysis appropriate to the desired sphere of influence for each project/assignment

• Establish working relationships with identified leaders and demonstrate ability to move them into action, including as part of the wider alliance; taking the initiative to establish new relationships as required

• Conduct one-to-ones to develop relationships with leaders and understand their concerns.

• WWritinge regular updates on the work to be shared with the funders and maintain a healthy relationship with them

• Recruit new dues paying institutions; work together with a more senior Organiser to negotiate annual membership fees and letters of understanding

• Liaise with the Finance & Operations team to update the membership database and ensure timely invoicing and fee collection

We are looking to recruit a bilingual, French and English speaking, Grants Officer to join our dynamic team of dedicated sexual and reproductive health and rights specialists. The Grants Officer provides support to the Grants Support Team and Grants Operations Manager across a portfolio of grants, ensuring grants move efficiently and in a timely manner through the grant management cycle. The Grants Officer will be trained to become an advanced user of our online Grants Management System Fluxx and will guide and support users who are less conversant with the system. The Grants Officers also support operational management of the fund with the development and maintenance of efficient operating and reporting procedures. 

AmplifyChange is a bi-lingual fund. Due to the current team composition, fluency in French is required, as the postholder will support our Francophone grantees, who are based across West-Africa and occasionally the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

The role is a Bath-based position and will work closely with team members in the UK and overseas, including our Grants Support Team, our Finance Team and our Fiduciary Risk Team.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Using our online Grants Management System Fluxx, oversee a portfolio of grants through a grant implementation process from grant set up through to grant closure, ensuring compliance with internal procedures
• Act as the operational focal person for grantees and provide support throughout the grant cycle on contractual, operational and reporting matters, drawing on and coordinating expertise from the Grants Managers and Fiduciary Risk Team (FRT)
• Provide support in the preparation and implementation of new grant calls, and support the selection and Due Diligence process when necessary, responding to all applicants whether successful or unsuccessful
• Regularly monitor the completion of pre-contracting conditions by grantees, and obtain appropriate sign-off internally
• Coordinate, draft and issue Grant Agreements and Addendums using our online system
• Provide regular and up-to-date information to operational management by tracking and monitoring grants, and sharing best practice and lessons learned across the portfolio of grants with other staff members and stakeholder
• Track grantee reporting deadlines, supporting timely report submission by grantees
• Monitor grantee disbursements in collaboration with the Fiduciary Risk and Finance teams

REPORTING AND ORGANISATION

This is a UK based, full time (37.5 hours/week) permanent position, reporting to the Grants Operations Manager. AmplifyChange is based in Bath, and we operate on a hybrid working model. Fauna & Flora is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Programme Assistant to deliver effective support to the Conservation Capacity & Leadership team. The successful candidate will assist the Director and Conservation Capacity & Leadership team members in delivering the programme’s targets, through administration, basic finance and logistical support, disseminating learning and communications. The role will in particular support Fauna & Flora’s conservation leadership, partner support, and professional development initiatives.

You will have strong relevant experience in an administrative role, with excellent numeracy, organisational and time management skills and a structured and methodical approach to work.

Your excellent interpersonal skills will enable you to build strong working relationships with colleagues. You will be a self-motivated team player and enjoy working in a dynamic environment where the ability to respond swiftly to changing organisational and team needs is paramount. With excellent communication skills, you will have a proven ability to write for a range of audiences. Fluency in English is essential.

The senior member of staff is responsible for ensuring the decisions of the Board are acted upon and the charity meets the legal and regulatory requirements of a CIO. The key focus will be on development of new income streams as we navigate challegnes across the site. The General Manager will oversee the implementation of the new Buisness Development Plan. Support the team of volunteers in project managment and fundraising to support the ambitions of the Board. HR management and financial control will be an important part of the role.

Trust and Foundations Officer

You will be working to deliver our ambitious targets for trust and foundations income for 2024/25 and beyond. The post-holder will help to research and explore new avenues for funding and build a strong pipeline of new donors who have the potential to support the charity. You will be building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders at trusts and foundations and preparing and delivering targeted funding applications to those organisations. You will be able to build upon and develop a compelling case for support for both the services we offer as a whole and for specific projects that reflect our work and values.

Ideally you will be looking to develop your skills with the aim of moving into a management role within the department within the next 2 – 3 years, so this role is to be viewed as a development opportunity.

The reform agenda and operational context both mean trusts need to find new ways to work in their local systems and deliver for patients.

This role is an exciting opportunity to support trust leaders as they respond to this challenging and changing environment. This role will require the postholder to be flexible, adapt to a rapidly changing external landscape, responsively manage parts of a wide-ranging portfolio, and contribute to media, public affairs and board development work. The Adult Services Team Manager is one of 3 team managers reporting to our Chief Executive Officer. The services managed include Direct Payment Support across Richmond and Wandsworth, Befriending and Community Activities, our Benefits and Housing Advice and Information service and our Counselling service.

Purpose of Post

• To be responsible for the management of the Support Services to Direct Payment clients in Richmond and Wandsworth.

Main Duties include:

Management of Direct Payment Support Service

• Lead and manage the Direct Payment Support Service across Richmond and Wandsworth Boroughs through an experienced DP Project Manager.
• Provide support to the DP Project Manager to resolve complex DP HR management issues around the area of employment law.
• Support the Project Manager in their work with the local authority to set targets for the project, monitor performance against these targets and identify and resolve any issues that arise.
• Report as required to the commissioners and the Ruils Board of trustees
• Work with the DP Project Manager and the CEO on new DP projects and funding applications as required.

CILS, Pathways and Counselling Teams

• Lead and manage the delivery of the Community activity, Befriending, Pathways and Counselling services.
• Work with the CILS partners to ensure that the service is meeting Local Authority targets
• Report as required to the commissioners and the Ruils Board of trustees
• Responsible for ensuring active promotion of the services to potential and existing clients and stakeholders and to ensure representation of Ruils at networking events.
• Work with the CEO and Fundraising Manager to ensure projects are fully funded and demand is well managed.
