About this job

As the social media officer, you’ll help manage an audience of more than 200,000 people across X, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and YouTube. You’ll respond to comments and messages from the public, engage with our audiences and work with our MS Helpline team to ensure vulnerable supporters get the help they need.

You’ll have a genuine passion for creating engaging social content and a keen interest in the latest trends and social media platform developments.

Working closely with our Social and Paid Media Manager, you will help to scope for and identify new opportunities to grow our online community developing engaging content across news, media, support, information and our core campaigns.

Planning and strong copy-writing skills are essential and you will thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment. You’ll also help maintain regular reports on KPIs and performance.

And lastly, you’ll be joining our friendly and supportive team at an exciting stage of our development, as we continue to use digital to help improve the lives of people living with MS.

About this job

Please note this role is part-time 21 hours/or 3 days a week.

Our Helpline runs from 9am to 7pm Monday to Friday, and we’re looking for an enthusiastic, warm and experienced individual to support our dedicated Helpline Volunteers and Befriending Volunteers within the Helpline team.

This role requires working flexible hours, including 9am–5pm, 10am–6pm or 11am–7pm between Monday to Friday to meet services and volunteer needs (3 days a week).

If you’re passionate about offering high quality information and emotional support and have relevant Helpline experience, we’d love to hear from you.

You will be providing continuous support to all our volunteers at the Helpline team, directly contributing in providing information and support to our Helpline enquirers, with both proactive and reactive content and information on prevalent topics or trends affecting the MS community.

This is a part time position working four days per week (30 hours), Monday to Friday.

Within this role, you can be based at home or in an Emmaus community. Wherever you are based, maintaining positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders is vitally important.  The current patch for this role is Emmaus Brighton & Hove, Emmaus Greenwich and Emmaus Dover. Regular travel to these three communities will be required (usually one community visit per week). Travel to team meetings, usually held in Birmingham, and other locations will also be required on occasion.

Who are we looking for?

We require someone with a strong skillset and at least two years’ experience working in a busy communications, public relations or marketing role. Although not essential, knowledge and understanding of homelessness and the charity sector would also be an advantage.

Creativity and passion are a must. You will have a broad range of communications skills, love seeing your creative ideas come to life and keen to develop your skillset within a national homelessness charity.

As a key member of our Services and Support team, you’ll be working with MS Society volunteer groups that provide transport services to their members and/or own property. You’ll also be supporting members of the Customer Services team to help them fulfill their health and safety responsibilities within each of the MS Society’s offices. You’ll be working with our external auditors to manage the audit process, monitor and record compliance with the ‘MS Society Health and Safety risk management framework’ on property and transport and ensure materials in the framework are consistently and effectively used.

We’re looking for the successful candidate to have:

• A NEBOSH National General Certificate
• Trained Display Screen Assessment Assessor
• Be a Member of Institute of Occupational Safety and Health
• Experience of working with in house Health and Safety systems that cover risk areas associated with a volunteer group network.
• Experience of working with volunteers.
• An in-depth up-to-date knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and practices, particularly as these relate to the voluntary sector.
• Experience of transport for people of all abilities run by the voluntary sector with a working knowledge of the related legislation.
• A working knowledge of the management of properties run by the voluntary sector.
• A working knowledge of DSE requirements and how to assess and apply them in a practical way.
• Knowledge of risk assessment, inspection and auditing procedures.

Yorkshire Cancer Research is entering an exciting period in its development. As part of this we are expanding our team at our Head Office and a number of new roles are being created. As such, we are now looking for a Marketing Operations Officer to support our Brand and Relationships team.

The Role 

As our Marketing Operations Officer your role will be to build brand awareness, helping to ensure the Yorkshire Cancer Research brand is accurately and consistently presented across all marketing touchpoints, including branded merchandise and printed collateral. 

Supporting the Marketing Manager, you will extend the charity’s reach across Yorkshire and support the marketing team to deliver effective marketing campaigns that engage supporters and help raise the profile of the charity. 

Specifically, you will: 

• Work with stakeholders across the charity to define requirements for branded items and marketing products / services (e.g. branded merchandise / clothing, printed collateral, branded display items). 

• Manage the relationship with external marketing suppliers (e.g. printers, merchandise suppliers, signage companies etc.) to source marketing products and services.

• Identify suppliers, make product recommendations, obtain samples / quotes and evaluate which products/services represent overall best value for the charity and formulate recommendations for approval.

• Manage the procurement of marketing products/services in line with the charity’s procurement processes/policies.

• Be responsible for stock management for branded items/collateral across the charity. 

• Develop a preferred-supplier framework for marketing products/services in partnership with the Finance and Corporate Services department. 

• Manage the marketing budget for branded collateral and merchandise, ensuring team and charity processes are adhered to.

• Lead the Photo Permissions Process on behalf of the marketing team and ensuring appropriate permissions are in place for all images used in the charity’s marketing, ensuring that permissions are recorded appropriately on the supporter database.

 
About You 

To be considered for this role, you will need: 

• To have a degree or relevant qualification and or work experience (e.g. apprenticeship / further education). 

• To have experience of working in or with a marketing team.

• To have knowledgeable about the different types of products and/or services required to fulfil marketing campaigns.

• To have experience of working with external partners and suppliers to deliver projects and campaigns. 

• To have excellent project management and organisational skills.

• To have good working knowledge of matters relating to procurement, e.g. processes / value for money / wider considerations (e.g. sustainability).

• To have customer service experience. 

• To have good collaboration skills and confidence in working with external suppliers and internal stakeholders.

• To have a commitment to continuous improvement, an enthusiasm for marketing and a passion for excellence.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Marketing and Communications professional to join our team and support both the Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King and the wider archdiocese in developing engaging communications and marketing our events and initiatives. The successful post-holder will work between St Margaret Clitherow Centre and the Cathedral (2 days per week), with travel across the Archdiocese as required. • Management: 3 staff
• Salary: £55,000pa
• Position: Full Time, 5 days a week
• Hybrid Working: 4 days a week is required at their offices in Leamington Spa

JOB SUMMARY

The Head of Finance will be active in preparing monthly management accounts and commentary for the Senior Management Team.

The Head of Finance will be responsible for the ongoing development of the financial systems, processes and procedures, monthly accounts, cash flow, as well as budgeting and forecasting.

BUDGETING & REPORTING

• Preparation of annual income and expenditure budgets for the Charity, working collaboratively with Heads of Department and members of SMT.
• Review and collate all Head office service costs and professional fees and calculate cross company charging for financial reporting.
• Provision of income and expenditure reports, variance analysis and reconciliation of fundraising activities.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, including balance sheet, metrics, and commentary.
• Provide a quarterly report for submission to the Board of Trustees
• Formulate monthly rolling forecast cashflow for the Charity and Trading Company including phased income budget and planned expenditure.

FINANCIAL SYSTEMS CONTROL

• Ensure the organisation operates robust accounting procedures and systems of internal financial control in line with current good practice and legislation.
• Oversee and facilitate the annual external audit but effective liaison with the auditors and preparation of accounts ready for inspection.
• Regular review of access rights and permissions for accounting, banking & HR software systems
• Ensure the Charity works in accordance with Charity SORP, HMRC, Charity Commission Regulations and other relevant bodies’ recommended code of practice.
• Keep up to date with changes in legislation affecting finance, payroll & HR ensure this information is cascaded down to other members of the Team.

KNOWLEDGE

• ACCA, ACA or CIMA Qualified with significant post qualification experience
• Excellent technical and analysis skills, including advanced Excel modelling and analysis.
• Knowledge of the Charity SORP and Charity Commission requirements and guidance

Key responsibilities:
