We are seeking an exceptional, relationship-driven Philanthropy Lead to build and scale a high-
impact fundraising function for a growing organisation at a pivotal stage of its development.
This is a hands-on, frontline role for someone who thrives in a start-up environment and is motivated

Key Responsibilities
Fundraising & Revenue Generation

Essential Experience
Proven track record of securing six-figure+ gifts, including from UHNWIs

About the role
We are looking for a proactive and organised Membership and Events Officer to join the Magistrates’ Association on a 12-month maternity cover basis.
This is a varied and hands-on role, supporting our membership, events and branch network. You will play a key part in ensuring our members receive a high-quality service, while also helping to strengthen and grow our local branch activity across England and Wales. This role sits within our small staff team.
Alongside managing membership processes with our third party support organisation, you will take a lead role in delivering small national events and supporting our network of volunteer-led branches. JOB PURPOSE
The Major Giving Manager – Trusts and Foundations will sit within the newly formed Major Giving team, playing a pivotal role in driving new business and helping to deliver £3.36m of income across major giving in the financial year 2025/26.
Reporting to the Major Giving Lead – Trusts & Foundations, this role will lead on new business development within the trusts and foundations portfolio, with a strong focus on identifying, cultivating, and securing support from new funders. The postholder will be expected to proactively generate and pursue opportunities, using creativity, insight, and strong relationship-building skills to grow a robust pipeline of high-value prospects.
This role will involve actively networking, attending events, initiating and developing relationships with prospective funders, and creating compelling, tailored proposals to secure significant new income. Alongside this primary focus on new business, the postholder will also contribute to the stewardship and growth of existing funders to maximise long-term value and impact.
Working collaboratively across the wider Major Giving team, the role will support cross-portfolio opportunities and integrated cultivation strategies, and where appropriate, flex to support engagement with individual donors. Purpose of role
As the Managing Director for the UK and Europe, you will develop and deliver the European fundraising strategy and plans and oversee the execution of all fundraising activities in Europe. These activities include, but are not limited to individual giving, major gifts, bequests, corporate giving, and community fundraising.
Primary responsibilities
The job holder will have the following key responsibilities:
- Oversees fundraising activities and performance in Humane World for Animals’ EU and UK offices. Works closely with the Country Directors and the VP of International Fundraising on the execution of the fundraising programmes. Identifies opportunities to improve efficiency and facilitates collaboration efforts across European offices. (30%)
- Manages all fundraisers in the region and ensures they achieve their goals by providing guidance and advice, training, performance management and career development. Coordinates priorities and tasks and monitors progress. (25%)
- Monitors and reports on performance progress towards agreed revenue targets; efficiency and cost-effectiveness (including external fundraising contractors); and challenges or opportunities in the external fundraising environment. (20%)
- Creates and manages the budget for fundraising expenses and income targets. Sets and reviews multi-year and yearly investment and revenue targets. (10%)
- Leads research, planning, and implementation of new marketing initiatives and acquisition programmes, including but not limited to DRTV, face-to-face, telemarketing and PSMS Mobile channels. Establishes effective donor retention strategies and oversees their execution. (10%)
- Works closely with the VP of International Fundraising to develop and execute a strategic vision to grow fundraising income in the Europe region, translating the vision into an action plan, and ensuring the successful implementation and execution of the vision. (5%)
Requirements

Education and experience
- An academic degree or equivalent work experience is required.

Aims and scope of the post
The aim of this post is to ensure sound financial management to support the organisation’s ongoing charitable work. The Finance Manager is responsible for CT’s financial strategy, timely and accurate financial administration, maintenance of financial and management accounts, as well as cash flow, stock control, payroll and pension.
Responsibilities and tasks
Budgeting and forecasting
- Produce annual budgets, quarterly reforecasts, and scenario models for the organisation budget.
- Support budget forecasting for project tenders, ensuring due diligence and financial viability.
Reporting
- Produce quarterly management accounts, including variance reports, analysis by income streams, and cashflow forecasts.
- Prepare and present financial reports for the quarterly board meetings and biannual audit committee meeting.
- Produce minutes of the audit committee meetings and contribute to the minutes of board meetings.
- Complete statutory reporting to Companies House, the Charity Commission and HMRC.
- Submit the relevant reports to funders to ensure timely receipt of grant payments.
Financial management

The Role
We are looking for an experienced, driven and creative Marketing and Events Manager who brings a genuine passion for fundraising and events — and the skills to match. This is not primarily a desk-based marketing role: you will be the engine behind our events programme and a key driver of our fundraising income.
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead the planning and delivery of CWC’s events calendar, manage our fundraising activities, and oversee the work of the Marketing and Events Officer. You will be equally comfortable developing the strategy and getting stuck into the detail of execution.
Events will be at the heart of what you do. You will take ownership of our flagship event, coordinate a varied programme of fundraising events, sector conferences and networking activities, and ensure every event is professionally delivered and leaves supporters feeling connected to our mission. You will manage relationships with venues, suppliers and sponsors, and keep a close eye on budgets and income targets.
Fundraising will be a core focus. You will be responsible for achieving financial targets from individual and corporate fundraising, developing creative campaigns across platforms such as Enthuse and JustGiving, and building the kind of relationships with supporters and partners that turn one-off donations into long-term engagement.

About You
You will have a proven track record in events management and fundraising, ideally within the charity sector. You know what it takes to plan and deliver events from first concept through to post-event evaluation, and you understand how events can drive income as well as awareness.
