We’re recruiting an interim Head of Retention Marketing and Customer Journeys on a 12-month fixed term contract to lead a key transformation project.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing the second-largest income stream at the BHF, from our existing donor base while delivering adoption of the Adobe marketing stack.

About you
You’re a strategic marketing leader with a proven track record in customer retention, journey optimisation, and multi-channel growth. You’ve led teams through transformation, embedded new platforms, and delivered measurable impact.
You bring expertise in CRM, product marketing, and customer data strategy, with a passion for customer-centric marketing that drives engagement and long-term value. Experience with Adobe is ideal, but we would also value experience in platforms like Klaviyo, Bloomreach, Intuit (Mailchimp), Salesforce Marketing Cloud, or HubSpot and an understanding of the capability they have to drive personalised marketing
You’ll also bring:
- Strong working knowledge of customer data, CRM, and product marketing, with experience developing retention and journey campaigns across email, SMS, direct mail, and data-led channels.

Working arrangements
This is 12-month fixed term contract covering family leave. Start date ideally in December 2025, although there can be some flexibility.

Key Responsibilities
Finance Work

- Prepare purchase invoices, add to the payment spreadsheet ready for weekly payment run processing

Person Specification
Essential:
- English and Maths GCSE A-C or equivalent
- Proven experience in bookkeeping/similar finance role, including following policies and procedures, processing invoices, supporting the preparation of financial reports, financial reconciliation
- Good working knowledge of key accountancy software such as Quick Books or SAGE
- Administration experience, including providing support for colleagues, arranging meetings/events
- High level of numeracy and financial literacy, comfortable working with budgets and spreadsheets and be able to input data accurately
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with a range of stakeholders
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Team worker, but also happy to work independently including self-managing remote working
- A ‘can-do’ attitude and uses their own initiative

Desirable:

CFT employs around 50 staff based in the Forests but has a small core team of 4, which works remotely and there is no office base. We meet once a quarter in-person and this post will occasionally need to attend in-person meetings and events, including the annual conference.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, and working closing with the CEO, COO, Executive team and members of our Board and Development Advisory Board, the Executive Director, Development will shape and drive a roadmap for this next stage of our philanthropic activity. Working as part of the Executive Team, you will exemplify the highest standard of professional integrity and represent the Foundation to senior stakeholders both internally and externally. With the support of a dedicated team and expertise of your peers, you will devise, implement and oversee an ambitious philanthropy strategy, underpinned by the appropriate fundraising policies, procedures and records including due diligence; raise the capital required to meet the Foundation’s fundraising targets; maintain detailed and up to date projections; own donor/prospect relationships; and communicate effectively to these stakeholders.
To be successful in this role, you will therefore be an experienced and entrepreneurial fundraising leader, who is equally adept at building significant philanthropic relationships as you are in meeting the operational requirements of an organisation of our size and complexity. You will bring a track record of personally cultivating significant gifts, as well as leveraging and supporting key stakeholders and volunteers to support these activities. Your international fundraising experience will be an added bonus, particularly with donors in North America. With your highly developed diplomacy, tact, and sophisticated interpersonal skills, you understand and know how to get the best of people in support of the organisations you’ve represented. About the role
As our Digital CX Analyst, you’ll be at the heart of this transformation, using data to uncover insights, optimise user journeys, and drive conversion across our digital platforms. You’ll play a key role in our Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO) programme and support initiatives across UX/UI, content, product innovation, and customer experience, including collaboration with our Medical and Retail directorates.
- Drive Insightful Product Decisions: Analyse customer journeys and digital touchpoints to uncover behavioural trends and bottle necks. Partner with Digital and Product teams to optimise user experiences and improve conversion.
- Support Experimentation & CRO : Shape and validate A/B testing strategies, inform hypotheses, and analyse performance outcomes to guide impactful decisions.
- Champion a Data-Led Culture: Deliver clear, actionable reporting and respond to analytical queries. Promote data literacy across teams to embed data into everyday decision-making.

About you
You’ll have a strong background in digital analytics within a marketing or product environment, with extensive experience supporting CRO programmes and experimentation. You’ll be experienced at using tools like Google BigQuery, GA4, and SQL to interrogate data, uncover insights, and inform decision-making. Able to translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations you'll be key to driving improvements across our digital journeys and helping us better serve our supporters.
You’ll be a curious, analytical thinker who thrives on solving problems and improving user experiences. You'll be able to bring:
- Advanced SQL skills and experience working with large datasets
- Strong knowledge of GA4, Google Tag Manager, and product analytics tools
- Experience with A/B testing, causal inference, and statistical significance
- Proficiency in data visualisation tools (e.g. Looker, Power BI)
- Ability to present and communicate insights to technical and non-technical audiences
- A collaborative mindset and a passion for data storytelling
- Experience working with raw operational data and turning it into structured insights
