About Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance
Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA) exists so nobody in Scotland suffers or dies because medical help cannot get there in time. People can get sick or have accidents anywhere and anytime. But in Scotland there are places where urgent medical help cannot reach people. Or help gets there too late. And when lives are at risk every minute matters. As a charity we rely on donations from the Scottish public, companies and communities to ensure that urgent medical help gets to the patient when it is needed, wherever they are and at whatever time of day.
The Role
We are seeking a confident media and communications professional to join our Marketing and Communications team and lead PR and media activity across SCAA. Reporting to the Marketing and Communications Manager, the successful candidate will secure impactful media coverage, manage press enquiries, build relationships with journalists and stakeholders, support and brief spokespeople, and develop compelling stories that showcase the charity's impact. Working collaboratively across the organisation, they will play a key role in delivering our communications strategy and increasing awareness, engagement and support for SCAA’s mission.
This role will be based in Perth, at Scone Airport. SCAA supports flexible and hybrid working arrangements—our current approach typically includes two office days per week for those working on a hybrid basis. The usual hours of work will be Monday—Friday, 9am—5pm but it should be noted that this role will require the successful candidate to occasionally work at weekends and during the evenings. This role will also require the successful candidate to travel regularly to operational locations and media opportunities within Scotland, sometimes at short notice, and to undertake media on-call duties as part of a rotational rota.

Our commitment to diversity and Guaranteed Interview Scheme
Diversity is one of our core values as an organisation and we are committed to creating an inclusive working environment where diversity is valued and there is equality of opportunity. We also recognise that the climate and ecological crisis disproportionately impacts minority and/or marginalised communities – yet these voices are largely underrepresented in the sector. Currently, the environmental sector is the second least diverse in the UK, with just 4.8% of employees from ethnic minority backgrounds. If the environmental movement is to succeed in creating a greener future that supports society as a whole, we need diverse voices at the heart of our programmes. We therefore encourage people from demographics that are currently underrepresented in the environmental movement to apply.
We particularly encourage applications from people from ethnic minority backgrounds or living with a disability or long-term health conditions. We will offer an interview to any candidates from ethnic minority backgrounds or living with a disability who opt into our Guaranteed Interview Scheme when applying and who meet the essential criteria for this role.
If you would like further information, support with access requirements, such as an adjustment to the application or interview process, or an informal chat, please get in touch.

About Alongside:
Alongside is the new name for Julian House.
We work with people experiencing social exclusion across the South and West of England, providing outreach, accommodation and support. Our clients may be sleeping rough, fleeing abuse, rebuilding after trauma, leaving prison, recovering from addiction, or trying to settle safely in a new community. Whatever their starting point, we work alongside people to help build safety, stability and independence.
If you’d like a real sense of job satisfaction, great career prospects and a competitive benefits package, you could be who we’re looking for!
About the Role:
As a Housing Officer within our CAS3 (Community Accommodation Service Tier 3) project, you’ll be at the heart of supporting individuals leaving prison who might otherwise have nowhere to go. This is your chance to change lives every single day by providing safe, stable temporary accommodation at a crucial turning point in someone’s journey.
You’ll manage a dynamic caseload across the Southwest, working directly with people on probation as they transition back into the community. From helping someone settle into their temporary home to empowering them to build the skills and confidence they need to move on successfully; your support will be essential. No two days are the same — and every day is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference.
Responsibilities include:
- Collaborative Working: Build strong relationships with partner agencies, keeping them informed of any issues that may affect clients or their accommodation placements. Together, you’ll create a safer, more supportive environment for every individual.
- Welcoming New Clients: Be the first point of support for new arrivals — introducing them to their accommodation, helping them settle in, and clearly outlining expectations so they feel confident and supported from day one.
- Housing Management: Take pride in maintaining high-quality living environments. You’ll ensure properties are safe, secure, and well-kept, promptly identifying and reporting any repairs or maintenance needs to keep homes in top condition.
- Delivering Outstanding Support: Provide person-centred, strengths-based, and trauma-informed support that empowers clients, builds resilience, and helps them take positive steps toward independence.
Please note: Job descriptions are not exhaustive, and the successful candidate may occasionally be asked to take on other duties that align with the key responsibilities outlined.

Qualifications / Requirements:
- Experience working with people who may have complex needs and/or challenging behaviours.
- Knowledge around the supported housing sector, ideally having worked with people on probation.
- Driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
- Willingness to work flexibly until 8pm, as needed, to support new arrivals into properties.
