As Charity Officer, you will directly support our venues based at Redlibbets Golf Club, Cobtree Manor Golf Club, and Warley Park Golf Club.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Delivery:
- Plan, organise, and execute a range of community outreach and charity events, including (but not limited to) Fun, Food, and Golf, Community Cafes and School outreach.
- Collaborate with local schools, charities, and community groups to build strong relationships and drive participation in these programs.
- Ensure the successful delivery of events, including logistics, staffing, equipment, and communication with all relevant stakeholders.

Partnership Management:

Funding and Compliance:
- Familiarise with and navigate the local government Holiday Activity and Food (HAF) funding landscape to secure funding for eligible programs where applicable.
- Ensure all programs are compliant with relevant local safeguarding requirements for working with young people and vulnerable adults.
- Assist in preparing reports and documentation for funding applications and compliance checks.
Safeguarding and Wellbeing:
- Adhere to and enforce Get Golfing's safeguarding policies, ensuring that all staff and volunteers are adequately trained and supported.

Experience

About the role
The Network Engagement Officer supports The Tomorrow’s Engineers Code (or The Code, as we often call it) community. The Code community is a network of 400+ organisations committed to inspiring more young people into engineering and technology careers through STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) outreach.
The Code brings together organisations of all types and sizes to share ideas, learn from each other, and collaborate to collectively improve the impact of our STEM outreach. We do this by providing them with practical resources, events, regular communications and a supportive LinkedIn group.
The Network Engagement Officer works with the Senior Code Manager to grow, engage and support Code community members (we call them Signatories). The Network Engagement Officer is responsible for growing the community through recruiting and onboarding new members and ensuring high levels of engagement across the diversity of the community through writing and scheduling regular communications to them via email and LinkedIn and delivering an engaging content series to help them collectively improve their outreach, as well as tracking their participation across activity.

Purpose of the Role
The Administrator / Finance Officer plays a key role in the smooth running of One Newham. Ideal candidate
As a Senior Support Officer, you will primarily be responsible for raising awareness and providing a high-quality support and advocacy service to our members and their families. You will be a relationship builder who cares about the community we serve and ensures that the individual (or family) remains at the centre of support. You will have experience in multi-agency working and an in-depth understanding of the needs of those with disabilities, their families and carers. Demonstrable experience and knowledge of health and social care, education and relevant assessment processes are essential.
As deputy safeguarding lead officer for both shildren and vulnerable adults you will take the lead in the absence of the safeguarding leads and be confident sharing your knowledge with new recruits through mentoring.
You will have excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to uphold best practice, challenge poor policy and inappropriate decisions. Excellent IT skills and the ability to plan, prioritise and deliver to tight timescales are essential. You will be self-motivated and highly organised, juggling many strands of work.
As part of a small, dedicated team, you will have a positive attitude and a willingness to work collaboratively with your colleagues and external parties to raise awareness, advocate for our membership, as well as supporting the delivery and development of services for the MPS Society community.
Whilst a relevant qualification within health & social care, education or a related field is desirable, other knowledge and work experiences may be equally as valuable in this role. Prior knowledge of MPS and related conditions is not required however a special interest in neurology and working with individuals with neurological disabilities is advantageous. In-depth support and training to develop expertise in MPS and related conditions, and the needs of those affected by these progressive, life-limiting conditions will be provided.

Our approach to hybrid working
We recognise the importance of coming together regularly, in-person, as a team, so we can share learnings and spend social time with each other. We also recognise that people need flexibility, and that homeworking enables focused work and can fit well in people’s lives.
We ask all staff to take part in pre-arranged team meetings which take place every six weeks in our office space. We also might ask you to meet in-person with members of your team from time to time, or to be available for face-to- face meetings with clients and partners where this enhances the work.
We assume that this would usually not amount to more than one day per fortnight for people who work full time. We are happy to discuss how this sits in your life. This can be agreed by your line manager.

Key Responsibilities
Expedition advisory support
Participate in the provision of advice and support to Society grant recipients and other expedition teams and individuals across their project lifecycles.
Training, events and content
Work with colleagues and external trainers to develop and organise needs-based training opportunities, primarily for Society grant recipients and other supported individuals and teams, across a range of subjects.

Governance and reporting

You need to be an confident communicator who can engage and inspire people from all walks of life. Building strong relationships comes naturally to you, and you have the empathy and listening skills needed to connect with donors, volunteers, and community partners. Highly organised and detail-oriented, you can manage events, budgets, and donor records while meeting deadlines under pressure. Creativity and resourcefulness are part of your approach, enabling you to develop engaging presentations and adapt when plans change.
You bring resilience and a genuine passion for making a difference, staying motivated even when challenges arise. A good understanding of financial processes ensures transparency and compliance, and you’re confident in public speaking and community engagement, representing the organisation with passion and professionalism. In short, you are personable, proactive, and committed to creating a positive impact through collaboration.
