About the Spokesperson Network
The Spokesperson Network trains and supports people to speak on television and radio. We are substantially boosting the number of progressive, diverse voices in this space to challenge opposition narratives and boost coverage of underrepresented issues.
The programme works by training, coaching and providing PR booking support for spokespeople from civil society working on social, environmental and economic issues. So far we’ve had over 11,000 high-profile media bookings including Question Time, Newsnight, Good Morning Britain, LBC, Channel 4 News, BBC 5 Live, Today, Sky News and ITV News plus many more.
Purpose of the role
The Press Officer is central to our flagship Spokesperson Network programmes, placing people in broadcast media on a regular basis, developing and maintaining media contacts and meeting the needs of participants on the Spokesperson Network.
Your main day-to-day role will be identifying opportunities for members of our Spokesperson Network, and then coordinating between them and producers to secure TV and radio opportunities for them. You will build relationships with journalists - and increasingly seek our print and digital opportunities too.
Most days will involve spotting opportunities in the news early in the day that would be relevant for the spokespeople we have on our books, checking in with the various spokes to see who is available, formatting pitches to put out on our media list and then fixing up the details when media bids come in to ensure that bookings happens smoothly and effectively.
Requests for the members of the Spokesperson Network happen regularly outside of office hours and during the weekend. Part of this role will involve sharing responsibility to be available to respond to these bookings and fix them up when they happen. You will be recompensed for this with TOIL.
This project is part of a wider Communications Hub in which you’ll play an active role helping to develop the overall strategy and direction of the project.
What you will be doing
Here are the key responsibilities of this role:
Identify relevant stories in the news and subsequently pitch and book spokespeople into broadcast media (television and radio) and respond to media requests.
Train spokespeople to speak in the media and provide media skills training for campaigners and other organisations.
Build new media relationships to widen the range of producers working with the Spokesperson Network
Support spokespeople, taking into consideration the ways in which broadcast media work interacts with people's identities and lived experience.
Work with others in the Comms Team on the development and implementation of effective messaging.
Identifying clippable content, creating clips.
Play an active role in the wider Comms Hub, attending and feeding into key messaging and narrative development.
Play an active part in the whole NEON team, contributing to organisation-wide plans
Who you are:
Experience in journalism, communications or media relations
Experience of building and maintaining relationships with journalists
Proven understanding of anti-oppression work and commitment to tackling all institutional forms of oppression, bigotry and exclusion
Experience working in the economic and social justice campaigning community in any kind of capacity
Excellent writing and editing skills, including an eye for detail
Excellent interpersonal skills and communicating appropriately with different stakeholders
The ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities

About the Service
Salford Neighbourhood Mental Health Team (SNMHT) is a community mental health service delivered in partnership between GMMH, Mind in Salford, Six Degrees, Wellbeing Matters and START, with support from local NHS and primary care partners.
SNMHT is multidisciplinary, and includes an occupational therapist, nurse, recoveryworker, psychiatrist, psychologist, peer mentors and social workers.
We do mental health support differently, with a focus on your skills, aspirations and experiences. We put your strengths and living experience at the centre to help you recover and stay well as part of your community.
About You and the Role
We are seeking a male Living Experience Peer Support Worker to use his own experience of mental health challenges to offer hope, practical support and recovery-focused encouragement to people accessing Salford Neighbourhood Mental Health Team.
The role will involve working across the City of Salford, supporting individuals in a range of community and clinical settings. As travel throughout the city is required, access to a car would be desirable, although this is not essential.
The successful applicant will work alongside key workers and other members of the multidisciplinary team to provide person-centred support. Using their own living experience, they will help build hope, confidence and resilience, empowering individuals to achieve their goals and improve their wellbeing.

We are seeking Bank Supported Housing Support Workers to join our dedicated team at Worthing Foyer.
Worthing Foyer is a 29-bed supported accommodation service for young people aged 16 to 25, providing medium to low-level support in a safe and welcoming environment. Our service is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and takes a trauma-informed and psychologically informed approach to helping young people develop essential life skills, build resilience, identify their goals and achieve greater independence.

About the Role
As a Bank Support Worker, you will work alongside our experienced team of Support Workers and Night Workers to provide practical and emotional support to residents. You will build positive relationships with young people, helping them navigate challenges and access opportunities that support their personal development and future aspirations.

You will ideally have experience of working with young people or within a supported housing, care, education or community setting. You will have an understanding of the challenges, risks and opportunities facing young people, together with a genuine passion for helping them achieve positive outcomes.

About the role
This is a training and development role within the Children and Young People's Psychological Trainings programme (CYP-PT), for a practitioner training to deliver specialist, evidence-based psychological interventions to autistic children and young people and children and young people with a learning disability. The post holder will be based within Croydon Drop In's (CDI) ‘A for Autism’ service, delivering early intervention in community based settings and schools, while undertaking the CYP-PT Therapy Postgraduate Diploma (PG Dip) – Autism Spectrum Conditions and Learning Disabilities (ASC/LD) pathway – at University College London (UCL), delivered in partnership with the Anna Freud Centre. The post holder will develop and deliver adapted, evidence-based assessment and interventions for autistic children and young people and children and young people with a learning disability who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties, working in partnership with children, young people, their families, schools and educational settings. The training and service experience will equip the post holder with the necessary knowledge, attitude and capabilities to deliver high-quality, adapted clinical practice and to operate within an inclusive, values-driven service. The post holder will attend all UCL-based teaching and Onsite Protected Learning Time required by the education provider, as specified within the agreed national curriculum, and apply their developing specialist clinical skills in the service for the remaining days of the week, including carrying a clinical caseload.
