As the national body for youth work, the NYA has a dual function. We are the professional statutory and regulatory body (PSRB) responsible for qualifications, quality standards, and safeguarding for youth work and services in England. In line with our charity mission and aims, we also champion youth work through research, advocacy, campaigns, and programmes.

About the Role

This role sits within the team responsible for the professional, statutory and regulatory elements of youth work. You will support delivery of youth work curriculum projects, learning activity, and development of high-quality practical tools and materials that help create the conditions for great youth work.

The role exists to provide operational delivery and coordination, enabling the National Curriculum & Learning Manager to focus on strategic development, leadership and quality assurance.

You will be joining an agile, flexible, and collaborative team who work at pace, engaging partners and stakeholders to support youth work across England. Your role will contribute to the improvement and development of learning resources and approaches.

Key Responsibilities

As a Learning & Development Officer, you will support:

• Delivery of local youth work curriculum commissions, from inception to completion.
• Coordination of curriculum-related events and training, including train-the-trainer sessions and stakeholder workshops.
• Development, adaptation and refinement of learning and development tools, templates, and materials.
• Gathering and organising insight, learning and feedback to inform curriculum improvement.
• Drafting, adapting, and maintaining curriculum content aligned to national standards and local context.
• Preparing agendas, notes and follow-up actions for workshops, inception calls and meetings.
• Supporting approaches to demonstrating and evidencing impact.

The Communications Manager plays a key role in increasing the reach, visibility, and impact of the organisation’s work. The post-holder will lead on creating high-quality, audience-focused communications across digital platforms, ensuring all content reflects the organisation’s values, brand, and strategic priorities.

Working closely with colleagues and sector stakeholders, the role involves managing social media, newsletters, and the website; supporting events and campaigns; and communicating the impact of the NBO and NBAS within the newborn and perinatal field. The successful candidate will combine creativity, strong organisational skills, and sector awareness to deliver engaging, relevant, and impactful communications.

Suitability 

This is a part-time, maternity-cover post. We welcome applications from individuals in a range of professional circumstances, and appointment will be based on the candidate who best meets the requirements of the role.

Job Description

1. Digital and Communications Platforms Management

• Social media planning: Develop and follow a social media content plan that includes a range of content types (promotional, engagement, inspirational), reflects the organisation’s strategic goals, and is tailored to the audience’s needs to ensure content is relevant, targeted, and impactful.
• Social media management: Manage the organisation’s social media platforms, including posting, scheduling, and engaging with relevant posts (e.g., commenting, sharing, or reposting where appropriate).
• Email newsletters: Plan, gather, and assemble engaging content (including guest articles) into visually appealing newsletters using Mailchimp, ensuring a mix of news, articles, and resources.
• Website management: Maintain and update the organisation’s WordPress website, including content updates, managing functionalities such as the learning platform and forms, and publishing new content (e.g., blogs). Liaise with website hosts or technical support as needed.
• Email communication: Use email to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders and respond to queries promptly.

2. Sector-Informed Engagement and Initiatives

• Gathering Impact Content: Engage practitioners, managers, and other stakeholders to collect photos, case studies, testimonials, and quotes that demonstrate how the NBO and NBAS are being used in practice and the difference they make. Use this content across social media, newsletters, and the website to showcase the organisation’s impact.
• Stakeholder engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including trainers, champions, international colleagues, bursary awardees, and partner organisations, to support communications activities such as guest articles, talks, and dissemination through their networks.
• Sector awareness: Maintain awareness of developments within the newborn, perinatal, and ‘1001 days’ field (including policy, NHS services, government initiatives, and charitable activities) to ensure communications remain current.
• Awareness campaigns: Support relevant awareness days and weeks throughout the year, primarily via social media, contributing a Brazelton-informed voice to wider sector themes and discussions.
• Baby Communication Week: Plan and deliver Baby Communication Week, the organisation’s annual awareness campaign, ensuring strong thematic focus and high-quality events to maximise educational impact and engagement.
• Strategic initiatives: Support additional initiatives that increase the reach, visibility, and impact of the organisation’s work in line with strategic objectives.

3. Content Creation and Brand Compliance

• Visual content: Use design tools such as Canva to produce visual assets — including graphics, videos, and, on occasion, printed materials such as posters — for social media, newsletters, the website, and events, ensuring all content is visually engaging and aligned with the organisation’s branding.
• Written content: Create written copy for a variety of channels, including newsletters, social media posts and captions, website pages, blogs, and promotional materials, ensuring all content is clear, engaging, and consistent with the organisation’s tone of voice.
• Ensure all communications comply with the organisation’s branding and communications policy, providing guidance and support to team members as required.

4. Events and Programme Administration

•  Online events: Assist with the organisation of Brazelton online events, such as quarterly Inform & Inspire Sessions, including setting up Eventbrite ticketing/booking pages, managing Zoom sessions, recording events, and uploading content to YouTube for catch-up.
•  In-person events: Support the planning and delivery of occasional in-person events, including representing the organisation at external exhibitions and contributing to the Brazelton Centre UK 30th anniversary conference in 2027.
• Bursary schemes: Assist with the administration of annual bursary schemes, including setting up application forms, managing submissions, promoting the schemes, and corresponding with applicants and awardees.

Technical/Digital Skills (Essential)

• Confident using a wide range of digital platforms, with a proven ability to quickly learn and become proficient in new tools and technologies, even if previously unfamiliar.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, PowerPoint), professional email systems, and social media platforms

• An understanding of the roles and work of infant-related practitioners in the UK, including health visitors, neonatal nurses and therapists, perinatal teams, and midwives, to ensure messaging and content produced is relevant and effective.
• A good knowledge of the Brazelton approach and the NBO and NBAS tools, including their purpose, impact on practice, and contribution to newborn care and the parent-infant relationship.​

Desirable -

•  Trained in the NBO, NBAS, or both, with experience applying them in practice with infants and families.

The Relationship Giving Manager plays a leading and hands on role in designing and implementing the supporter acquisition, retention and development plans. Focusing on growing reach, engagement and ultimately income across Individual Giving, Legacy and In Memory activity.

The postholder will manage, coordinate and deliver a variety of donor acquisition, conversion and retention campaigns and communications that make up the donor acquisition and supporter development programmes to deadline and within budget across various mediums including print, digital, face-to-face and direct marketing etc.

• Track the performance of campaigns and monitor performance metrics, including campaign results against agreed KPIs

• Ensure continuous testing, collate learnings and make recommendations to guide future activity

• Ensure effective maintenance and retention of active, lapsing and lapsed supporters

• Work with the wider fundraising team to design and implement supporter journeys for all individual donors and supporters including legacy prospects and pledgers

• Contribute to the development of the legacy marketing plan, implementing annual and ongoing initiatives to build a sustainable legacy pipeline

• Identify new channels and audiences to promote activities and products amongst existing donors/contacts and new prospective donors

• Develop strong relationships with external third parties promote the charity as a local beneficiary

We’re looking for a Direct Marketing Executive to join the Individual Giving team at Prostate Cancer UK. We’re an ambitious charity with a bold mission and a fantastic culture. This role focuses on acquiring new cash and regular givers across a range of channels including digital, telephone and direct mail, helping fund research that will save and improve lives. 

In this role you’ll help drive forward our ambitious five-year fundraising strategy as we continue to grow income year on year to have the biggest impact for men. You will lead on our value exchange programme, working closely with the digital team and our telephone partner to continually optimise results. This is a great opportunity to gain experience across a multi-channel campaign. You will also work on wider telephone conversion campaigns and direct mail as well as other test channels with the aim of recruiting new regular and cash supporters as well as re-engaging those who have lapsed. You’ll also help develop and test welcome journeys to engage supporters with our work and make them feel valued. You’ll look for ways to test and innovate to drive the best results. You’ll collaborate with colleagues from across the organisation to drive the best creative, messaging, targeting and data insights. 

What we want from you 

Experience or knowledge of managing direct marketing campaigns across a range of channels, ideally digital, telephone or direct mail, and preferably gained from a fundraising environment.

You’ll possess first class communication and project management skills; a strong team ethic and you will be at ease working with key internal and external stakeholders at all levels. You’ll be a self-starter, with a curious nature and a keen eye for detail.Knowledge of data protection and sector compliance would also be beneficial.

As our Network Manager, you will live and breathe our network, developing a deep understanding of the makeup, needs and priorities of network members to lead effective engagement and establish a high quality experience. You’ll drive a number of projects and steward relationships as part of our evolving offer, focusing on listening, moving from a transactional to a relational approach to supporting and learning from our network, equipping leaders with the skills, networks, and confidence to deliver exceptional support to young people.

You’ll support the Head of Network Development and the Senior Leadership Team to evolve UKY’s network offer as part of our new strategy. You will be a key advocate for the sector, ensuring our network remains responsive, resilient, and well equipped to meet emerging opportunities and challenges.

The role requires deep understanding and experience  of the youth sector, the ability to confidently build relationships with leaders of practice and organisations, as well as a highly organised, and proactive individual with strong project management and excellent stakeholder management skills.

Experience we're after

• Experience delivering youth work practice with young people.

What we're looking for

• Campaigning & Journalism: Experience as a strategic advocate or campaigner, with a track record of identifying cases that highlight consumer detriment
• Thematic Expertise: Experience navigating the political and legal sensitivities of campaigns related to Reform action, protest rights, Palestine and challenging the rise of the far right
• Project Management: Experience managing multi-faceted projects, ideally coordinating between different specialisms (e.g., legal, tech, and comms)
• Digital Mobilisation: Experience helping to develop and implement digital campaign strategies that have raised income, grown lists, or secured change

As Finance Systems Manager, you will:

• lead the development, enhancement, and administration of Unit4 ERPx, acting as the system’s SUPER‑user, subject matter expert and technology advocate.
• collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless integration between Unit4 ERPx and other organisational systems, building strong relationships across the charity to ensure the system meets operational needs.

As the Supporter Engagement and Giving Manager, you will help our organisation raise steady and reliable income at an exciting time, as we embed our new brand and five-year strategy. Your main role is to build strong relationships with our donors and to give them an excellent experience. This work is essential to ensure our Supporter and Giving Programme continues to bring in the donations we need to maximise our impact. 

You will lead the work to grow our donor community, managing a team of officers to deliver appeals, campaigns and stewardship activity. You will also look for new ways to connect with supporters and increase engagement across multiple communication channels.

• Lead the team to deliver the planned programme of work across acquisition, retention and stewardship

• Plan and deliver campaigns and appeals across print, digital and telephone channels that engage and inspire our supporters and drive income.
