Job Purpose
The Communications Lead will:
- Build brand awareness and help to ensure the TLC: Talk, Listen, Change Group brands are accurately and consistently represented at all times. In particular, ensure consistency in messaging and tone of voice for each brand and when communicating about the Group as a whole.
- Communicate effectively with our stakeholders (customers for our commercial subsidiaries plus funders, commissioners, supporters, partners and the public for the charity) to strengthen our relationships with them, creating high quality and engaging copy, marketing collateral and communications.
- Lead all internal communications across TLC, crafting clear, useful, positive and supportive information for our staff, volunteers and Board.
- Extend the TLC Group’s reach across the UK by delivering marketing campaigns that adhere to our brand guidelines and principles, strengthening our reputation over time with every piece of activity we deliver.
- Working with the rest of the Marketing (and wider Development and Partnerships) Department, take personal ownership and accountability for the execution of marketing activities according to agreed processes, on time, on budget and to high quality standards/
The Communications Lead will work particularly closely with our Creative Design Lead, who leads all aspects of design across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Copywriting and Content Creation
- Lead the creation of compelling written copy and marketing assets for a range of audiences and platforms to support the needs of colleagues across the TLC Group – including but not limited to: Engaging, persuasive and impactful sales pitches and proposals, Annual report, Case studies, Key messages, Quotes, Digital and printed collateral, Social and web content and assets, Press releases, Speeches, News articles.and other marketing materials
- Develop creative ways for this to build brand awareness, market services and facilities, communicate programmes, activities and impact.
Media and PR
- Lead on developing relations with media, generating and placing stories, and generating PR.
- Create media content including stories for press and publications
- Contribute to the identification and management of reputational and other communications and marketing-related risks. Social channels
- Create engaging and relevant written content for social media that helps grow our following and boost our reputation.
- Collaborate with our staff teams to ensure all our engagements are on brand and on message.
Website
- Take responsibility for the development and management of all written aspects of the website, including generating content, maximising its potential and monitoring its impact. Fundraising and Influencing Work with the Development Team to:
- Produce regular supporter newsletters, mailings, reports and other content to engage with relevant stakeholders
- Lead the development of messaging, copy and content to support fundraising propositions, campaigns and events
- Help create and test high-level campaign / proposition messaging and lead the development of supporter copy for a range of applications and channels
- Create impactful and persuasive pieces to support with influencing.
Internal Communications
- Work alongside the Creative Design Lead and Director of Business Services to further develop our internal communications streams.
- Craft organisation-wide announcements and produce organisation-wide communications in the form of (including but not limited to): - Newsletter, Lunch and learn sessions, with an aim of 6 taking place each year, Podcast (aim of once a month), You Said, We Did communications, CEO video messages, Updates on staff group / network activities, Internal events, including town halls and ‘coffee and cake’
- Support with the organisation of our annual TLC Group staff conference.
General
- Ensure marketing collateral is compliant, factually correct and internal charity practices are followed (e.g. GDPR, photo consent, claim substantiation, budgeting).
- Work with the Group Head of Marketing, Marketing Manager and Creative Design Lead to prepare, monitor and report on the annual Marketing and Communications budget.
- Develop creative communications ideas and keep abreast of latest trends and innovations to help inform our plans.

Jimmy’s Cambridge are seeking a Director of Performance. This is a completely new post, designed to radically transform assurance and accountability ahead of licencing and regulatory compliance within our sector. The Director of Performance will hold the organisation and its staff to account for providing exceptional service and gold standard accommodation to our residents. The post holder will utilise data, evidence and insights to assess performance and assure the CEO and Board that Jimmy’s Cambridge is run effectively and efficiently for the benefit of our residents.
You will come from a very strong performance background, most likely with a highly detailed understanding of regulatory compliance within any regulated / licenced sector. You will be unafraid to ask difficult questions, scrutinise business and operational planning, put into practice swift and effective performance improvement initiatives, and assure a Board of your services / portfolios efficiency, effectiveness and grip within complex operating environments. Unafraid of robust conversations and relationships, you will not shy away from what needs to be done to ensure the very highest standards for our residents. This role serves as the strategic lead on media, and external communication matters for the Pensions Board, advising and working with senior leaders to propose, develop and execute well thought through proactive and reactive communication strategies to realise delivery of our biggest priorities
It is a hybrid and matrix role. The role holder will work within the NCIs' multi-disciplinary national Communications team ensuring the Board's external communications response is resilient, best practice and well-planned while also taking a steer on initiatives and the handling of key topics from leaders within the Pensions Board. Being able to influence and engage with senior leaders from multiple expert disciplines will be absolutely essential.
Your day-to-day reporting line for key work objectives is to the Director of Strategy & Engagement in the Pensions Board. Professional development and formal line management will be undertaken by the Head of Financial Communications in the NCI's Comms team.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaboration
* Be the primary 'lead' press contact for key stakeholders at the Pensions Board, with a particular focus on ethical and Responsible Investment.
* Lead the development of external media plans to support delivery of the Board's objectives, aligning these with customer communications and stakeholder plans being formed within the Board, working closely with the Customer Communications Manager and Engagement colleagues in Housing and Pensions
* Work as part of the Financial Communications team to manage the relationship with the Ethical Investment Advisory Group,
* Proactively initiate, build and manage complex relationships with key financial and specialist journalists who cover the work of the Pensions Board, strengthening the Board's media presence.
* Work with the digital communications team to initiate social media content for the Pensions Board, including establishing and managing the Board's LinkedIn presence.
Communications planning/proactive comms
* Initiate and sustain effective external communications planning on a monthly and annual basis. This includes setting clear objectives to enhance effectiveness, close gaps and prioritising 'media' requests across Pensions Board teams.
* Be responsible for the development and delivery of key KPIs assessing media performance, and external reach, reporting to the Pensions Board's Director of Strategy & Engagement.
* Put in place a robust comms calendar
* Shape and author messaging ahead of anticipated media interest with an aim to grow the influence of the Pensions Board.
* As a trusted and savvy communications expert, advise internal stakeholders in the development and communication of their core messaging, especially on key projects and initiatives.
* Proactively identify and realise PR opportunities for the Pensions Board aligned to the Board's delivery plan, key strategic projects and making the most of opportunities with wider Church networks.
Reactive comms
* Monitor press coverage and distribute to internal contacts
* Respond professionally to media enquiries from news organisations, including the rapid development of agreed responses to media enquiries, seeking counsel from the Head of Financial Communications to enhance the response. Staying calm under pressure will be essential.
* Field media requests for interviews, photo calls, events, and similar.
* Support with media training and photo shoots for internal stakeholders, including working with and coaching colleagues (at all levels) to enhance their confidence with media exposure.
Content and events
* Identify and organise relevant speaking, conference and award opportunities, including speech writing where needed.
* Collaborate on the production of the PB's annual review, Stewardship Report and other reports - liaising with internal stakeholders, collating and editing content, working with the design agency, and managing budget
* Initiate, manage and maintain excellent relationships with external suppliers and design agencies, including instilling clear standards for delivery.

Job Purpose
To lead and oversee the delivery of TLC: Talk, Listen, Change’s charitable income generation and fundraising function, driving sustainable income growth through a diverse portfolio of opportunities including commissioning, grant applications, charitable trusts and foundations and fundraising activity. The Head of Development will carry out a mixed role, primarily consisting of informing the strategy, supervising the team and supporting them to secure income - while also directly creating some high-value / high-stakes submissions themselves. Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership and Contribution
- Be a member of the Senior Leadership Team of TLC: Talk, Listen, Change, contributing to organisational strategy, growth and long-term sustainability.

MEMBERSHIP AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

ABOUT THE BIA
We have 600+ members at the BIA from a broad spectrum of biotech and life science companies including university spinouts, start-ups to scaling biotech to big pharma, including those that support the sector such as service providers, consultancies, law firms and universities.
We are looking for an experienced BD Manager to join the existing team here at BIA. The primary task is to help build relationships, retain current members, and secure new ones to meet or exceed quarterly and yearly targets.
MAIN PURPOSES OF THIS ROLE:
- To support the Associate Director for Membership and Business Development in building relationships, retaining current members and securing new ones to meet or exceed quarterly and yearly new membership targets
- To coordinate lead development and manage leads process through the entire sales cycle
- To plan and execute targeted business development campaigns working alongside the marketing team to ensure wider promotion
- Lead identification/qualification of potential new members
- To form effective connections with key personnel at member organisations, developing member engagement, event attendance and participation in BIA communities

- Work with Associate Director for Membership and Business Development to develop schedules for following up on new member leads and tracking success rates
- Work with contacts at our business solutions partner programmes to develop these schemes further – maximising membership benefit and income for BIA
- Work with Membership team to ensure any issues with renewing members are addressed promptly and to a satisfactory conclusion
- Work with the Sponsorship Manager to pass on leads and to help embed relevant administration
- Gain a strong understanding of all BIA activities/initiatives in order to present the benefits and opportunities of BIA membership to potential and existing members in a professional manner
- Attend relevant industry and BIA events (UK & overseas) to network and to promote the benefits of BIA membership and build a professional network of contacts. This will include occasional evening and weekend work.

Cardiomyopathy UK is the specialist national charity for people affected by cardiomyopathy, a group of conditions that affect the heart muscle. It can have a devastating impact on the lives of people of all ages and is usually inherited. Our vision is that everyone affected by cardiomyopathy should live a long and fulfilling life.
We are midway through our five-year strategic plan, at a genuinely exciting moment, both for the charity and for cardiomyopathy more broadly. The treatment landscape has been transformed in recent years: approved dedicated therapies are now available, more are in the pipeline, and the first genetic treatments are on the horizon. This is bringing new energy and investment from clinicians, pharmaceutical companies and the research community, creating real opportunities for a charity with the credibility, evidence base and relationships to make the most of them. Our evidence base is stronger than ever: we have completed the James Lind Alliance Priority Setting Partnership, surveyed over 1,300 people affected by cardiomyopathy, and published our State of the Nation report. Against a rapidly shifting NHS and policy landscape, we are now reviewing our priorities and sharpening our focus on where we can have the greatest impact.
For the right person, this is an opportunity with real strategic scope. We want to build on our strong policy positions and evidence base and translate them into proactive campaigning and influencing, moving from good policy thinking to concerted public affairs activity, strategic stakeholder engagement, and campaigns that achieve real change. We have a draft theory of change to refine and policy recommendations to turn into action. Our Change Makers volunteer advocacy network is central to this, but needs dedicated leadership to fulfil its potential; rebuilding it is one of the most important early priorities for the post-holder.
Our research programme reflects this momentum. The James Lind Alliance process established the top ten research priorities for cardiomyopathy, giving us a clear, credible basis for directing research attention and resource. We have launched our Catalyst Grants scheme, the charity's first foray into directly funding research, with a second round under way, and want to build on it. That means resourcing the scheme sustainably, deepening engagement with the research community through a growing researcher network, and establishing an annual researchers' event to bring the community together and identify collaboration opportunities. The Director will lead this next phase, working with the Research Manager and our clinical and academic partners to define and deliver our ambitions.
Raising awareness of cardiomyopathy, its signs, symptoms and genetic risk, is equally central to our mission. Too many people are still diagnosed late because neither they nor their GP knew what to look for. We want our communications work to drive this agenda purposefully, drawing on our own evidence about diagnostic delay and unmet need.
We are also looking for someone who can work alongside our fundraising team to sustain and grow this work. Securing dedicated funding for our research grants programme and advocacy work is a real priority, and the changing landscape, with greater pharmaceutical interest in cardiomyopathy than ever, creates new opportunities alongside more traditional trust and grant funding. Experience of developing compelling cases for support, and/or navigating partnerships with commercial organisations in a way that protects the charity's independence, would be a significant asset.
The Director of Research and External Affairs leads the charity's research, policy and advocacy, and communications and marketing functions, with a team of four staff. The post-holder sets the strategic direction of the directorate, drives high-quality delivery, upholds the charity's values, and represents the charity externally across research, policy, clinical and funder networks. The Director is a member of the charity's Leadership Team, working closely with the CEO to steer the charity forward.

This is a broad, strategic, and high level role overseeing all HT’s operational activity in order to turn vision into action and enable kingdom growth. A major aspect of this role is to envision, encourage, and direct the wider Operations Team. A significant portion of your week will be spent with them, and you will be the key communication link between the Senior Leadership Team and the Operations Team. Sunday services are the shop window of HT and are central to everything we do. They are also our most complex operation, currently involving over 50 volunteers and serving approximately 500–600 worshippers across four services. While much of the weekly delivery will be delegated, your ongoing oversight, input, and development of Sundays will be key.
Making Music is the UK association for leisure-time music groups. We represent over 3,900 groups comprising around 200,000 musicians of all types, genres and abilities.

We’re looking for an Associate Director of Fundraising and Communications who is primed to play a major role as the driving force behind a new era of income growth and brand influence in the Third Sector.
Working 35 hours per week in a hybrid role you can work effectively from home with a willingness to regularly network across Wales and attend Cardiff City Centre Head Office as the nature of the role requires.
The Role
You’re a people focused leader with a passion for driving transformation to spearhead our income growth and elevate our brand. This is a high impact, critical and senior leadership role where you’ll have direct responsibility for financial performance and leading integrated functions to ensure no opportunity for impact is missed.
You’ll balance high-level strategic leadership with a hands-on approach to delivery. From identifying and converting high-value corporate partnerships to leading a multi-disciplinary team across fundraising and marketing, your work will directly fund essential cancer services across Wales. Reporting into the Director of Income Generation, Marketing and Communication, you’ll take ownership of a significant portfolio. The Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) works to support the Palestinian people in their struggle for freedom, justice and equality and against apartheid, military occupation and colonisation. A democratic, member-led organisation, we are the largest organisation in Britain dedicated to securing Palestinian rights. We aim to create mainstream pressure to change the policies of the UK government and to indirectly place pressure on the Israeli government to end its oppression of the Palestinian people. The Director provides executive and public leadership of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, harnessing the skills and energy of our elected Executive Committee, network of over 100 branches, staff team, members and supporters to ensure effective and impactful campaigns for Palestine. The Director of PSC holds ultimate executive responsibility for the achievement of our objectives in line with our stated values and policies agreed through our democratic structures.
The Director leads the organisation through a senior team of three Deputy Directors and is responsible for the overall impact, performance and culture of PSC. We build ambitious coalitions, support climate vulnerable countries in international negotiations and find innovative legal pathways to fight climate change.
What’s the role?
The Development Director will work closely with the CEO and the Chief Strategy and Impact Officer (CSIO) on all of Opportunity Green’s fundraising. We are looking for someone who truly gets what OG is trying to achieve, who can pull strands of our work together and turn it into cohesive cross-cutting proposals that funders want to be part of. You will draft and write compelling concept notes and proposals – not just edit them.
To date, the CEO and CSIO have overseen all of Opportunity Green’s fundraising, with the assistance of a Project Officer. We have been hugely successful in our fundraising to date; testament to the extraordinary talent of our staff and the impact they can make. However, as we continue to rapidly scale as an organisation, now is the right time for a Director to add capacity and further expertise to our fundraising.
This role is essential in Opportunity Green’s expanding team and organisation. You will work closely with OG colleagues across the organisation to understand their work, assist the CEO and wider team in managing our current donors and develop ambitious, strategic and innovative funding partnerships with trusts and foundations. You will have a specific focus on grants at the £1m+ level and increasing the number of unrestricted grants. It is important to note that we believe the following will not be a large part of the role in the short to medium term:
1. Searching new prospects – while in time this could become part of the role, we have multiple prospects that we are not currently pursuing due solely to capacity constraints.
2. Institutional or corporate fundraising – while this is a large source of potential funding, we are not currently pursuing it, or looking to secure any institutional or corporate funding from the UK / EU etc.
3. Individual giving – while there is an overlap between High Net Worth Individuals (HNWI) and philanthropic trusts & foundations, developing a HNWI giving programme is not, for now, a large part of our strategy.
You’ll be the kind of person who sees connections, chases opportunities, gets out from behind your desk to meet people, and influences internally and externally to achieve results. You will be driven, determined, tenacious and focused on solutions. You will not be someone who simply comments on proposals and ensures funder timelines are met, instead you will co-develop the strategies and projects that we will pitch to potential funders.
The Development Director will be our first fulltime fundraising hire, with continued support from the current Project Officer. There is huge potential for the right candidate to grow this role, working directly with the CEO, and a longer-term potential to expand into a fundraising team over time. As the organisation grows (we have grown to 35 people with a turnover of £5m in almost five years, with no sign of slowing down!) it is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in enabling Opportunity Green to achieve our ambitions and have an even greater impact.
About the candidate
We are looking for a candidate with:
· A passion for using their fundraising skills to tackle climate change.
· Experience of philanthropic, not just institutional/corporate, fundraising in climate / environment / international development sector(s)
· Ability to, over time, understand Opportunity Green so well that they would be almost as comfortable in OG’s project teams as leading on OG’s fundraising.
Desirable skills and experience:
We do not expect any candidate to have all skills listed below but rather we look for transferable skills and potential as well as past experience. We are looking for someone who has:
· Excellent strategic relationship-building skills and proven ability to manage philanthropic donor income streams.
· Experience maximising opportunities and income with current and prospective donors by focusing on strengthening relationships and implementing creative engagement plans.
· Developed and secured new sources of income from trusts and foundations, with a strong focus on funders with a potential to give £1m+ annually.
· Executed a fundraising strategy and develop a strong pipeline, managing a portfolio of current donors at the same time.
· Experience of managing the complexities of restricted income projects.
· Ability to understand diverse donor motivations and deliver a bespoke relationship to meet these. Demonstrable skill in adapting written and verbal communications for a philanthropy audience.
· Engaging presentation and writing skills for tailored presentations, proposals and grant reports for donors.
· Confidence in working with senior stakeholders internally and externally, using tact and diplomacy.
· Organised and methodical approach to plan and deliver against a varied workload, managing competing priorities under your own initiative and to strict deadlines.
· Be financially savvy and able to work with the finance team to ensure new proposals support a full-cost recovery approach.
